...and still perfect. Every accessory (including the main head) is still in full operational condition and the motor is flawless. My model pre-dated legislation to restrict the maximum power of vacuum cleaners, but I doubt that makes any difference, for the simple reason that the full power mode actually lifts the carpet (not just rugs) and I can't actually move the head to clean. Therefore I'm always using it at levels 1 to 3, rather than level 5. Brilliant product, easy to use, to manoeuvre and to store (look for the odd notches on the sides when standing on its base and the one between the on button and the cord recoil ("comfort") button. Despite the reduced Wattage now required by environmental laws, the renowned Miele suction seems perhaps even stronger than my previous similar model; if set at full power it attempts to lift a fitted carpet. Mentioning no names, why pay over twice the price for another brand which looks cool, is more flimsy, less powerful and has costly features no-one really needs? When picking a Miele cannister model amongst so many variants, you need to check package variations carefully. I chose the Complete C3 Cat and Dog for its combination of full power, robustness and comprehensive attachment set. I still wanted to additionally buy the top filter though, the HEPA, for full air decontamination. While the cannister bag replacements add a little running cost, changing them ... MoreDespite the reduced Wattage now required by environmental laws, the renowned Miele suction seems perhaps even stronger than my previous similar model; if set at full power it attempts to lift a fitted carpet. My friend lent me her Miele vacuum when she moved to Germany for 1 1/2 years and it was a DREAM! I finally got my own and I'm obsessed. She had the Classic C3 for comparison, I haven't noticed much difference in the performance. The suction power is amazing, I believe just the same as the C3. I love that the debris is collected in a bag and I don't have to empty it every time. The power cord isn't as long as the C3 but it works just fine for my 600sqft apartment. There isn't a compartment for the attachments, so they sit on the hose which I don't mind at all. I've only had this vacuum for a little over a month, but so far it compares to the C3 pretty well! I love it.
Ok, so Lazy Daily - I don't change the head - just use the traditional one so I can press down for Rugs and back for the floorboards. But when I use that floor attachments...WHOA, it's exceptionally good, feels so good in the hand to use.The kids love the stick with a handle too - even my 4 year old can use but I am watching them like a hawk - no riding on this one.Note: Don't let a plasterer use it, that's how our old Miele died. This one I will treat well. I love them as I get allergies and emptying the bag is easy - just remove and put in bin then get new bag in. Pay money at a big store for the proper bags, don't buy the fakeys from Bunnings. It isn't that much more and they don't leak like the cardboard ones.I prefer a vacuum where I can't see the ... MoreOk, so Lazy Daily - I don't change the head - just use the traditional one so I can press down for Rugs and back for the floorboards. It isn't that much more and they don't leak like the cardboard ones.I prefer a vacuum where I can't see the contents... Yes, I have kids so now and then I have to stick a hand in to remove lego or a hair tie but I live in Brisbane... even if we vac and mop daily, we get flying cockroaches in summer humidity, the odd one or two. At least, with a Miele, you can kill the creature and then vac it up. Not look at it. Sorry for graphic, that' is how I see those stick ones. We also vac under the table after eating as... well kids drop food every time they eat. I hate brooms and dustpans and use this for everything. We've used on the couch and car as well. Usual skinny attachment for edge of couch, I try look down there first but keep bending nail back - ouch so now use skinny attachment and vac dust up, and kick any coins or hairbands out. Same with car. We use that brush attachment for mattresses too - I like to vac the mattress every month or so, sometimes longer but when I change the protectors over. The suction is so good too, very good. I just clean daily with the Miele.Bonus - I got it on Payment plan with Klarna and that seems to be working out ok thus far, 4 payments.Oh FLUFFY RUG - the usual vac bit is fine for piled rugs and woven, I use on both, I put on super high for the fluffier one.
I was about to acquire a cordless vacuum cleaner, when our new cleaner went white and begged me to buy this Miele. It seemed to me that someone who goes up and down stairs in many different houses every day probably knows a thing or two about good vacuums. She did and she was right. John Lewis were very understanding. The Knight's cordless went back, the Miele arrived and we have never been happier. It is not heavy. It quickly and easily goes into places no other vacuum I've had has reached. There is a cracking attachment for doing curtains, chair covers and sofas. It is not pretentious or temperamental. It just does whatever you want it to do - very well indeed. And for not too much money.
The good:- Easy to use extendable wand.- Powerful suction.- Relatively quiet even at high suction, and one is able to moderate suction (and sound level) over a wide range to suit everything from carpets to sheers.- Electrical cord is long and the rewind mechanism is smooth.- Suction hose is long enough and swivels at the handle end to avoid knots.- The disposable sacs are easy to manage.- Controls are easy to understand. The less good:- It is not the lightest machine to carry up steps when vacuuming a carpeted staircase. The weight to power ratio is good, but the weight is still there.- You have to choose whether to be able to rest it vertically and carry around the extra wand attachment or use the tool attachment mount on the base when it is horizontal.- ... MoreThe good:- Easy to use extendable wand.- Powerful suction.- Relatively quiet even at high suction, and one is able to moderate suction (and sound level) over a wide range to suit everything from carpets to sheers.- Electrical cord is long and the rewind mechanism is smooth.- Suction hose is long enough and swivels at the handle end to avoid knots.- The disposable sacs are easy to manage.- Controls are easy to understand. The less good:- It is not the lightest machine to carry up steps when vacuuming a carpeted staircase. It does not control the main vacuum motor so you have to find that switch at the bottom of the main unit when it is vertical. Only a minor nuisance when it is horizontal.
I bought this model because I have 2 dogs and wanted something to cope with the hair. Having never had a cylinder bagged model I was nervous but all the positive reviews swayed me. It fits together beautifully and I like the fact that the handle height is easily adjusted. I'm struggling with it being corded at the moment but hope to get used to it. My problems stem from the fact that the hair just wraps around the Turboteq head and then has to be cut off which is a fiddly job. The other head which is meant for hard floors and carpets just doesn't seem to pick up on the carpet so I keep having to change heads which is a bit of a nuisance. After using it the first time I was aware the second time that there was no suction and I had a hair blockage in the Turboteq ... MoreI bought this model because I have 2 dogs and wanted something to cope with the hair. Already changed the bag as it's unclear when it is full or if it's lost suction due to a blockage. Should have stuck to my Dyson Animal far better. Would change it if possible but it was expensive so will have to stick with it !!!!
Bought this as we have one at work which was old 11 years ago, so I knew it would be a good buy. I usually buy the stick cleaners but have been disappointed with our last buy which kept failing to pick up, this one did not disappoint the pick up is exceptional and have even cleaned out the cars and the pick up was amazing. Having all carpets in my home except kitchen and bathroom I need a really good pick up and we are more than pleased with the pick up of this cleaner. Have used nearly all the tools and found the adjustability really useful as my hubby is 6ft and me 5ft we need this. Would definitely recommend this cleaner its light and easy to manoeuvre around and love the retraction of the cord. You can also adjust the pick up strength by pressing the button on ... MoreBought this as we have one at work which was old 11 years ago, so I knew it would be a good buy. I seem to go thru vacuums faster than I’d expect, so after researching for the best on the market, one thing I saw more than a few times, were canister vacuums. They report to have a long life. My research led me to this model for animal hair and variety of flooring. We have cats, hard wood, tile, carpet and area rugs. I’ve had it for a few weeks now and aside from getting used to the difference between an upright and canister, I don’t think I’ve ever seen my carpets cleaner. It has a very strong suction, which is adjustable. It also works great on hard floors. Other vacuums I’ve had pick up stuff from hard floors, but would occasionally just spit out the debris back onto the floor. Not this guy though. It was a big investment, but so far, I’m quite pleased.
