This was an addition to a previous set of the same pens, some of which have started to dry up. According to older brother this is because little brother has been leaving the tops off and 'not using them properly'. It may also just be because they do tend to dry out over time... However the fact that they are suitable for two boys five years apart in age means that they are worth replacing in my view. Washable ink (vital for a 4 year old) and robust enough for the little one to use, but they still look like grown up pens and have enough colours and good enough tips (when new at least) for a 9 year old who is quite proud these days of his colouring skill...
