I have owned other similar knives that were made of plastic. This metal framed knife is awesome. no worries throwing it in your toolbag. It is very solid feeling & having the snap off blades is great for heavy use!!! I would strongly recommend for anyone who would ever pick up a razor blade to buy this knife!!!

This knife is $7.00 more than their basic model. The adjustment knob is metal and the supplied blade is micro-carbide. The metal knob doesn't work any better than the plastic one and I don't see any difference in the sharpness of the blade. I own many utility knives but the basic Milwaukee snap-off blade is the one I always reach for first. I can't recommend this knife because I think it's over-priced compared to their basic model which everyone should own.

It's been many years since I've bought this knife can't say forsure but thinking 2012 or 2013. I've used this knife at minimum 5 days a week (take off the obvious random stats, odd weekends, some sick time)and it still shows no signs of being near the end of its life. I use my knife its several times a day from scoring aluminum, cutting back tar paper, ice/water shield, opening boxes even use it as a pry bar.. The reason why I made the switch in utility knife was for the metal lock. I've snapped so many olfa and dewalt knives at the plastic lock.A homeowner buying this knife for the odd project or whatever I think this knife would last forever.Wanted to do a review just because its held up and most of the others are based off a promotion. And it's cheaper now ... MoreIt's been many years since I've bought this knife can't say forsure but thinking 2012 or 2013. Most snap-off knives I've used are kind of flimsy and what I would consider dispensable. This one is definitely very heavy duty. The body is a tough plastic with a rubberized grip that works well. Within the body there is a metal housing that runs the length of the knife and contains the blade. The locking/unlocking screw/knob is also metal and makes for easy one handed use. It has 6 snap-off blades and then a 7th blade that fixes into the knife. This knife really compares well with other heavy duty knives that have a single replaceable blade.
GREAT PRODUCT. MUCH EASIER TO USE THEN MY OLDER STANLEY KNIFE. FEELS COMFORTABLE IN MY HAND ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE INSULATION JOBS. BLADES CHANGE OUT EASILY.
Good for one use. If you’re a pro, this will fail you when doing a blade change. To many little parts and no manual on how the blade guide goes back in. As soon as you try to change a blade, WATCH OUT for the tiny pieces that come out.
You never realize how something so small as a great box cutter can be until you have one!!! I shop a fair bit on line, I get the dog food etc, recycling is so much easier now that I can easily and safely break down the boxes. It is of good weight, it secures with a lock, it is super sharp, it busts those boxes to little pieces in no time. I specifically ordered the one with the lock for extra safety and it provides that, I know all of them have a securing device, but this lock is brilliant...see, small things sometimes make it all that easier!!!
This Milwaukee 25 mm Snap Off Knife with Metal Lock and Precision Cut Blade is heavy duty and the real deal! it is metal, the lock is metal, easy to use and cuts great! I use it all the time.
I bought this because I needed the extra length of a snap knife, as I've been resizing a lot of cartons lately, and standard utility knives' blade length doesn't always quite make it. I wanted something that might be difficult to break, as I've done with so many disposable snap knives in the past. This is it.I actually bought two, as I expected to break the first it fairly short order, as I've done with other knives.I don't expect the 'spare' to be seeing much use, as this knife is solidly built and I can't seem to hurt it.And I was pleasantly surprised to find that, even though my hand strength has diminished considerably over the years, I am able to operate the locking knob with my (right) thumb in order to project/retract the blade, and the lock is ... MoreI bought this because I needed the extra length of a snap knife, as I've been resizing a lot of cartons lately, and standard utility knives' blade length doesn't always quite make it.
