So far, I have been very satisfied with this reciprocating saw. It feels very substantial and has nice rubber molding in the area you hold with your second hand. It cuts through a variety of material with ease and seems pretty powerful. I bought a set of blades to go with it and overall and very pleased.

I have owned this Milwaukee Sawzall for 4 years now and it is still going strong, I have not had to get it repaired or do any kind of major maintenance on it. This was my first cordless reciprocating saw and it has been faithful over the years. The saw weighs 7.4 lbs and can run 3000 strokes per minute. Blades are easily changed with the quik-lok blade clamp.I have put this saw through some major work over the years. Most recently I had to do demo on a building that was built in the 50s and removing the ceiling drywall was a major job. They used metal mesh and plaster and drywall to finish the ceilings so removing the ceiling was not easy. I used this sawzall to cut the metal mesh into sections which dropped an extreme amount of dust onto the saw. I made sure to use a compressor to clean out the sawzall at the end of every day and even after such abuse the tool is still going strong. I did notice that after about 3 years it became harder to release blades as the quik lok would start to get stuck but a good cleaning solved that problem. Metal, wood, PVC, all cut like butter, it really comes down to having good blades.Overall excellent tool and has been one of my most faithful tools over the years. Make sure to properly clean the tool regularly to increase the longevity. For the price it's a great investment if you are going to do some extreme dirty work as this tool can take a serious beating.

I just don't get it. Why can't Milwaukee produce a Sawzall that last more than 2 years. I mean it didn't get a whole lot of use considering how heavy it is. I had a Ryobi set with 9 tools that I bought back 15 plus years ago, the Sawzall still works, the last remaining tool and it is so light to use. Milwaukee has got to up their game. I'm going to go back to Ryobi.

I have had a corded Milwaukee Super Sawzall for many years that has been a work horse, but now that I'm 69 years old I frequently don't use it because stringing those electric extension cords out and dragging them all over my 2 acres is a pain, so I bought this cordless version. I was puzzled about all of the Milwaukee tools that had "BARE" or "TOOL ONLY" offered for bargain prices and I had difficulty finding one that comes with the really nice tool case, battery and battery charger. NOW I see why, once you have the battery charger and battery you can then add many other bargain priced tools that can share the same battery. The Lithium battery can be topped up at any time because it has no memory, and a button on the battery shows how much charge you have left in ... MoreI have had a corded Milwaukee Super Sawzall for many years that has been a work horse, but now that I'm 69 years old I frequently don't use it because stringing those electric extension cords out and dragging them all over my 2 acres is a pain, so I bought this cordless version. NOW I see why, once you have the battery charger and battery you can then add many other bargain priced tools that can share the same battery. The Lithium battery can be topped up at any time because it has no memory, and a button on the battery shows how much charge you have left in the form of 4 led bars. This is a plus because the tool doesn't lose any power right up to the moment the battery is out of charge. I love the newer blade changing method too, I just slide a tab down, insert the blade and release the tab. Fast and much easier that my wired tool that requires a hex key wrench. The tool itself seems to be the same size and weight as the older wired version, Because I'm now an older Man and losing some vitality, I use Milwaukee's "The Ax" blades that are long and have very aggressive cutting, they work so well I got rid of my chain saw for safety reasons, and now with this new cordless Sawzall, I can keep up with all the demands of my little 2 acre farmlet and no longer put off small jobs because I don't feel like getting out 200' of extension cords.
I purchased this saw (tool only) for my father-in-law and unfortunately he is unable to use it with his older M18 batteries. Below is my email and Milwaukee Tool's response:My Email:"I purchased a Milwaukee Sawzall Reciprocating Saw tool only (2621-20) for my father-in-law. He just found out that his M18 batteries (from his drill driver and impact driver) do not fit the Sawzall. His batteries are M18 (48-11-1815). His M18 batteries have an extra raised key that do not allow for proper incursion into the 2621-20 Sawzall. I was under the assumption that the Sawzall is a M18 tool and that all M18 batteries would fit. Is there anything that Milwaukee can do to allow my father-in-law to use his new Sawzall without having to purchase some quite expensive alternative ... MoreI purchased this saw (tool only) for my father-in-law and unfortunately he is unable to use it with his older M18 batteries. I can supply pictures of his batteries and the new Sawzall if needed. Thank you."Customer Service's reply:"The original generation of compact M18 batteries were purposely âlocked outâ from the high-amp draw tools, such as the Sawzall, to avoid the batteries being damaged by the high load. All M18 batteries with âRedLithiumâ on the housing are compatible with all M18 tools."Here is my complaint. Before purchasing the saw (tool only), no where was it indicated that 'RedLithium' batteries were required for operation. If you look at the specifications for this saw it states "Battery System = M18". Apparently customer services did not address my concern of having to purchase "quite expensive alternative batteries".
Only speaking for a standard consumer non-contractor. A single battery will last you long enough. And you will have a couple and a charger. I only need to swap batteries if I'm cutting thick gauge steel. The rocker arm to insert a blade is a breeze and fits quickly and securely. Dewalts is a mess. I'd rather it be in Black and Yellow, but you can't win them all. Non Red Lithium batteries fit, but you have to persuade them off and on. If you need the proper tool for the Zombie Apocalypse, Bank Heists or general tree pruning if your lame, then it's a must buy. It's rare to not have some buyers remorse and I have none.
This is a great tool! No cords to get in the way, plenty of power and built to last. Iâve been replacing my tool arsenal with Milwaukee M18 the last few years and have yet to be disappointed. Added bonus, using the 1/2â drill with an 8â K-Drill auger for ice fishing and itâs lighter, cleaner and have punched 80 holes in one day and never killed a battery. Quit thinking about it and just do it. You wonât be sorry.
I switched my tools from desalt to Milwaukee and after 3 minor uses the blade wonât stay in. Seems like others have the same problem. Thinking of going back to dewalt again. Disappointed in milwaukee. Hope you guys will fix this problem. Seems like a common one from all the reviews. âšď¸
I finally replaced the one I bought 5 years ago. Let me tell you my old one was definitely put through the test. From cutting big roots to cast iron. This sawzall is an absolute beast. My quick change wasnât alway cooperative but still managed to get blades swapped out and the big batteries would shake loose losing contact but with some electrical tape I would be able to destroy everything I came in contact with. Hands down this sawzall is an absolute beast!!
Have used this sawzall at work and had a different brand at home. But am working on having all of my cordless tools same brand and battery size. You can not go wrong with the Milwaukee brand. Tough tools that can take a lot of abuse and still preform like new. Love all of my Milwaukee 18 volt tools.
