Better than a full size sawzall!

I’ll never use a full size sawzall after owning the gen II Fuel Hacksaw. Personally I feel like it packs just as much power without all the extra vibration. It feels so much more balanced, and obviously a big win that it can be used one handed. Great when you need to lay a hand on the material you’re cutting. I was concerned that it wouldn’t be good for two hands since they market it as a hand tool, but not the case. Comfortable and efficient either way.One of the BIGGEST features with this hacksaw design vs the traditional sawzall is being able to tight or low to the floor cuts. Old sawzall’s handle has to kick up and you can’t just cut straight down, instead your blade starts jabbing the floor and that’s not good for anyone, not to mention you’ve only cut through part of your material at an angle and you’ve got to come around from the other side (if space allows) and get another partial cut. With the hacksaw you’re able to hold the tool level and cut straight down to the floor. Big win.Example: I had to cut some steel rails out of the floor of my cargo van. Some of the bolts didn’t have access from above or below so I had to cut through this super heavy duty reinforced 3 wall steel then use a grinder to grind the bolt head out. Btw the hacksaw had no problem cutting through this heavy metal. All my power tools are Milwaukee. They all get the job done well, but I’ve been exceptionally impressed with this hacksaw for it’s innovation and design and underestimated power.

Bought the Hackzall as a smaller compliment to my Sawzall. Given my experience with Milwaukee, I had high expectations, and they were all met. The saw is smaller and lighter and very manageable. The wife even uses it to prune some of our larger bushes. The handle is the perfect size and angle and is very comfortable. The saw is as powerful as my larger Sawzall and has so far cut through everything I've needed to cut, including some light demo for a bathroom remodel. It is quite a little powerhouse that I would recommend to anyone.

I own several Milwaukee Sawzall tools that I use constantly for all sorts of purposes. I ran into an extended job where I needed to use one hand to hold onto what I was cutting and after 2 or 3 days of using the Sawzall one handed I gave in and picked up a Hackzall. What a difference for one handed use!My wife always struggled with the Sawzall all for pruning trees around our farm. I had her try the new Hackzall and she absolutely loved it. I may have to buy a second for work because I don’t think she’s going to give the Hackzall back!

Great saw when it works
22 August 2022

Opened the first one I bought and it was obviously used, scratches on the shoe and rubber molding completely teared on one side. Returned and bought a second, worked for 5 minutes (less than ten pieces of wood) and the safety switch is now completely loose so I have to tilt the saw on the side to start it. The cylinder is also really loose compared to the other one. The tool is great when it works but this isn't the first time i suspect I'm getting refurbished units. Will update review once I get to try a third one.

Great upgrade from previous version!!
29 August 2021

This hackzall is a great upgrade from the previous version released by Milwaukee. This comes with a brushless motor and overall runs a lot smoother than the previous version. With a 7/8” stroke length it delivers 3000 SPM. The weight is comparable at 4.15 lbs, which makes for one handed or overhead work extremely easy. This version is better balanced than the previous which makes one handed operation less tiring on your hand. The blades are easily changed out with the quik-lok clamp which doesn’t require a tool.I typically run a 5.0 battery with this tool and it’s tough to say how long it lasts or how many cuts I can get on a full charge. Over the years I have accumulated such a huge inventory of blades that go with reciprocating saws making this tool extremely versatile. I do notice that this FUEL version is a lot smoother and stops quicker than the previous when you release the trigger. With the right kind of blades you can prune and limb trees and vegetation, cut wood and metal and PVC, remove grout, scrape floors, cut into drywall, extremely versatile. I always make sure to clean out the saw after every use using an air compressor. Good overall tool to have in your inventory!!

Hackzall is Awesome
21 February 2023

This is the 2nd one of these my family has bought. This is the first Fuel one. The original non-Fuel is still running strong. I use it for working on equipment on the farm, like a chainsaw for trimming trees, cutting brush trees out of the fence row and cutting nails and lumber in demo projects. Great in places like around fence and barb wire where you need to run it with one hand. Battery runs my 5.0 batteries run it a long time!!Love it, its a very versatile tool to have in the truck.

M18 fuel Hackzall kit does not disappoint.
9 May 2023

I have the m18 fuel Sawzall but sometimes you need to hold the material you’re cutting with one hand and operate the saw with the other hand. This fits the bill perfectly. It’s heavy duty but fairly lightweight so it won’t wear you down. I’ve had the m12 fuel hackzall for years and I love it but cutting thick metal for long periods of time is beyond its capabilities. In comes the m18 fuel hackzall. It truly is a one handed sawzall. If you’ve ever found yourself wishing you had something that could be operated safely with one hand and has enough power to get the job done, buy it, you won’t be sorry.

Overall great tool
24 March 2023

Let me start out with i love this thing. It’s a great tool and feels so nice in the hand. Very powerful and cuts very quick despite the shorter stroke length compared to the sawzall. Only bad thing i got is no adjustable shoe!! For the life of me i cannot see why this doesn’t have one. a lever blade change would be nice too but the shoe is what i want. Other than that, you will not regret buying this tool. My favorite recip saw I’ve ever used.

The only reciprocating saw that you'll need to buy
16 July 2022

The only reciprocating saw you'll ever need, no, I'm serious. With a typical Sawzall, you'll need either something to hold what you're cutting, or someone to hold what you're cutting. With the Hackzall, you can hold what you're cutting, so you have a lot more freedom in how you make your cuts. You also don't need another person to hold what you're cutting, as you've got your other hand free.Only downside is that the tool feels a bit more bulkier than the M18 Hackzall that isn't FUEL, but the fact that this will last longer nearly outweighs that part

This Hackzall offers ultimate control.
21 April 2023

This Hackzall gives the control you need to make precise cuts. I know you’re thinking “precise cuts with a reciprocal saw?” But yes the control of the motor with the tigger gives precise control. I was at my son’s place in the North Carolina mountains, and needed to make a cut in a large pipe, but it need to be clean and straight. My son said try my Hackzall, the cut was straight clean and precise. I finished the job and ordered one to add to my Milwaukee collection.
