Love this 18 gauge cordless nailer. Been running a compressor and hose previously, and as most people with experience will know, it’s a hassle to work with tangled hoses, avoiding dragging hoses across finished surfaces, lugging around heavy and bulky compressors etc. The Milwaukee cordless nailer removes all that “nonsense”. The depth adjustment is also super easy to use, and the carved symbols make sure you never turn the dial the wrong way. Also love the tool-less jam removal. But if you were doing lots of work above your head or at chest height, it is something to consider. That being said, just going around stores and picking up displays of competitor brands, I get the feeling the Milwaukee is lighter (might be biased tho, nothing but fuel baby).Also, I find that within the 3 included tips, I like the smallest, flattest one the most. The one that comes installed in the gun is a bit too soft for my liking, and it’s got an angle to it that I’m not used to. The flat one seems to work best for me, but it might come down to the fact that my old Bostitch nailer had a similar tip and I’ve gotten used to that one.

I love Milwaukee's line of cordless nailers because you can get the job done without the hassle of hauling in a compressor and needing a power source and running hose lines for your nailer. This nailer is a tad heavier then my old pneumatic nailer, but not heavy enough to where my hand would get fatigued from all day use. It took my no time to get used to the difference in weight. I own this one along with Milwaukee's 15 gauge and 16 gauge nailer, all perform exactly as I need them to!!

Disappointed

I've had this gun for almost 2 years. So now I can write a review that's actually got some long term credibility. Gun worked pretty well for months. It gradually started to malfunction. Maybe 5 months ago it got to the point that it only shoots 2" nails. Any other nail and it jams immediately. It also jams shooting the 2in nails but it'll shoot them for awhile. When it malfunctions it shoots horseshoe shaped nails that make a mess of the trim I'm installing. It does real damage to my work which then takes time to fix as well as time to unjam the gun. I quit using the gun all completely. Went back to the pneumatic. Even when the gun worked it left really bad track marks behind. The nail holes this thing makes are knarly. It's good for that because the nail holes don't matter.I wouldn't recommend buying either of these guns to anyone. I've got almost $800 invested in these things if you count batteries. It's cheaper to buy an air compressor, hoses, and air nailers. I had planned on buying the Milwaukee M18 framing nailer but decided against it after my experience. Battery stuff just isn't there yet.Acme tools has always been a great place to do business with. By no means does this review suggest Acme has been any problem.

Disappointed in this Tool, Prototypes needed first

Tried to use on cabinets in our shop. The actuator is located in the wrong place. Milwaukee should have placed it at the tip because it cannot drive brads when holding the nailer on an angle. Would be great if you only use the gun when driving nails at 90 degrees. The nailer unfortunately is a poor design. Next time Milwaukee make a prototype and let professionals use it on their jobs for feedback on the pluses and minuses of a tool before manufacturing them in mass only to have returns and huge list sales!

Great nail gun

I bought this one to add to my collection, but start my new line of cordless guns. This is a definite no brainer. Like all of my other Milwaukee cordless tools, this is a great investment for my business. Just like the other cordless tools, I no longer have to take extra time, rolling out cords, maintaining the compressor, waiting for the noisy compressor to fill up, dialing in the appropriate pressure for the various gun for the different tasks throughout the day. Then at the end of the day, I am able to simply clean off the nail gun, put it away and leave the jobsite. All of this adds more work time.Some on here say that this nail gun is a bit heavier than their pneumatic gun. Hanging in your hand, that is true. I know that there are two other rubber tips on the gun rail, but those are not the same as the larger one that was originally on the gun. I looked on the website, and can't seem to find a replacement or a kit etc.My other complaint, as small as it may seem, is that Milwaukee Tool doesn't sell a complete set containing all of their nail guns, with some sort of package deal pricing. But that's just me (and a few other guys I work with or talk to at HD from time to time) being nit-picky. I would have liked to get a hard case for this nail gun as well, but again,me being nit-picky over little things.

So disappointed!! I love my Milwaukee tools but this one definitely leave something to be desired. I was so excited when I was gifted this nailer for my birthday. Took it to a job with a VERY tight deadline, left my air nailer at home an hour away from my job site. This nailer would not sink 2” nails. Depth adjustment did nothing. Tried 3 different brands of nails. Had to sink EVERY nail by hand. Nothing in owners manual on trouble shooting this issue either.

No regrets, should have bought earlier.

Men, check more off your honey-do list with this tool. I finally bit the bullet and purchased the one thing that will help me procrastinate less. I've had it for a few days now and all my baseboards and trim are finally up in the house. Who doesn't hate pulling out the air compressor and hose?I had done enough research on the two main colours, and even tried the yellow tool for a while with decent success. The Milwaukee seems to have a finess that the other does not - easier to handle, maneuver, and load. I appreciate the convenience of the depth gauge. Loading nails seems to be a smooth process. Overall, I'm very happy I purchased the red one.

Im a Makita guy typically (after getting started with an excellent hand-me-down set years ago) but the consistency and reliability of my brothers milwaukee brad nailer made me buy this in a black friday tool only special. i dont have any milwaukee batteries or chargers, so i got an adapter for makita battery to milwaukee tool that works great. The depth adjustment dial works awesome, and i used it right away to put thin fiberboard on the back of a dresser, initially blasting through a few times but adjusted the tension right down to pin it gingerly but firmly. Ive been thinking about getting this for awhile and am glad I did, as its my first brad nailer.

Simply Outstanding

Bought the 18 Guage battery brad nailer, tool only, (as I already own several battery Milwaukee tools and batteries) to install trim on 10 windows along with a box of 2" brads. I put the smallest 18 volt battery i had on it, shot several practice brads to set depth and went to work with it. I trimmed out all 10 windows without a single missfire, jam or hiccup what so ever. Refilled twice, I do like the way it stops with a few brads still in it, no chance for just putting a hole in your finish product. The best part is i still had two bars left on my battery. I later built a storage box for a generator out of 5/8" OSB, same battery, had to load 1 more time. Built the box with 2" brads then used another Milwaukee tool to drill, countersink, and screw it together. when this nailer is working properly, its a great brad nailer. the major issues are that it doesn't seem to like certain brands of brad nails and 2" nails of any brand seem to jam inside. I have had to use 1 and 1/2" only for over a year but it was incredibly consistent and shot very clean for a solid year. currently, as of last week, the nailer stopped working suddenly out of nowhere and has started misfiring, making an odd cycling sound. I haven't given up hope though because I have read that they have fixed these issues on newer nailers and will honor a warranty exchange for free. one of the benefits of milwaukee tools is that one doesn't need to register the product (im not sure if this applies to all tools) and the timeline to claim is quite long.
