WOW, i did not think a 12v would have the performance of my 18volt tools. I am one of those people who are between brands. I have the old 19.2v craftsman tools. Which still work well, but they are out of production, so I needed to make a change. I also needed a solution for my dremel that just died. I find myself browsing the Milwaukee website or Home Depot, to find another tool I want.I am really happy with their products, can't say enough. Now that Milwaukee has shown me how well their products are made, I am most likely going to go with the m18 as well, whenever I can save up some money. They have totally made up my mind on which tool company to go with now, because of the performance I have seen out of the m12 lineup. If you are on the fence, just go for it, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Milwaukee

I have been using the M12 system since it came out. I ran into a Mil rep at a store and he explained to me the advantages of the brushless products. This lead to my first brushless kit to replace an existing drill and driver (drill is still going). A butane torch exploded and burned my tool bag. The driver was pretty melted but the drill despite some war wounds still functions like a champ. I bought this et to replace the dead driver and not so dead drill. I will probably never shift from M12 for day to day use. I have these these tools wet, cold , extremely hot, and have flat out beat on them. In my opinion the best in their class. Very happy, except for the tool bag inferno.

Great combo set. I have used both the drill and impact and they are both very light and work well around the house, especially in hard to reach areas. They are so light that I feel less fatigued after using one for an extended period of time. I was surprised by how much power they have for being an M12 tool. They have more power than some 18V tools I have from other brands. This set was my first foray into 12V tools and I'm glad I picked Milwaukee because the tools feel very well made and I can tell they will last a very long time. I only wish that they offered an M12 combo kit with the Hammer Drill/Driver and Surge Impact Driver. That would be perfect!

I received this kit as a free giveaway from a Milwaukee sponsored giveaway.I am a diy/ weekend warrior so cannot speak to the drill or impact driver capabilities for trade workers.I really like the impact driver and it is now my go to over my heavier duty 18V version (other brand). I like how it is lighter weight and more compact. It still has plenty of torque and power, but I can use it in tighter spaces without having to take out my right angle adapter. It is also nice that it has an adjustable setting for 4 levels of torque. It has allowed me to adjust for tasks that don't need, and shouldn't have, high torque.I haven't used the drill enough yet to speak to it, but I imagine similar comments will apply once I do.
This is a great little kit! I had the 2504-20 hammer drill/driver before. I could not stand the soft start feature it had, the smooth chuck, and the small mechanical gear box adjustment ring. This new kit has fixed all those issues. The drill is responsive no matter what the clutch setting is. Be aware that with a drill that is this powerful, it operates best with the 4.0 or larger batteries. It will run on the little 2.0 batteries, but not for long. The impactor is great too. I have only used it to install steel studs and smaller screws. I love the 3 bright lights on the head and it's easy to carry around. The 4-mode selector is very handy, just like the m18 big brother. Great job on the redesign Milwaukee!!
Have had for about a month and the impact driver is great. My only issue is that the trigger for the drill fell off the first time I used it. I didn't drop the unit i literaly removed it and popped in the battery to try it out and when I released the trigger it flew out onto the floor. Not what I expected from Milwaukee. I was able to find videos and even reviews here with broken triggers. Kudos to Home Depot there was no hassle exchanging the drill. But what happens after 90 days. I hope Milwaukee addresses the issue. At work I have Milwaukee and Dewlt drills that have been abused for years with no such issues I hope they figure it out. I'd recommend checking before you leave with the product. I say that because when I exchanged it the first unit they pulled for ... MoreHave had for about a month and the impact driver is great. I’ve used both drill and driver for several small projects around the house and it’s sounds funny but they were such a pleasure to use, that now I’m looking for more projects just so I can use them more. I spent a lot a time researching both what brand and what battery size was best for my needs and I could not be more satisfied with this tool combo.I do have 2 suggestions for improvements not directly related to the tools. First, the bag. All the advertising shows the flat rectangular bag that I assume has some form molding to hold the tools and batteries, and maybe the charger. I say maybe because everyone actually gets a larger duffle style bag that is sturdy and well made. I admit the smaller style bag with form molds has the issue that if you buy anything ... MoreI’ve used both drill and driver for several small projects around the house and it’s sounds funny but they were such a pleasure to use, that now I’m looking for more projects just so I can use them more. I say maybe because everyone actually gets a larger duffle style bag that is sturdy and well made. I admit the smaller style bag with form molds has the issue that if you buy anything extra, there is no room. So it is nice that the provided bag has room for growth. What I don’t like, is that there is no way to keep the tools organized. I know the pack out system exists. But for now that’s overkill. What I would is some type of inserts I can buy that can hold each drill vertical and ready to grab from the bag. And of course inserts for the other types of tools. So a person can mix and match to organize the bag for their primary Milwaukee tools.Second feedback, not directly related to this combo kit, is your bit kit cases. How many diehard Milwaukee-only-fans need to make videos begging you to improve the usability of the bit cases? As a new user to your brand, it was clear one competitor had bits that were of equal quality BUT a case that held bits securely and yet allowed easy removal of bits when needed, and so I bought that kit despite really wanting to keep everything in my bag a uniform red and white. Upgrade the bit cases and I will gladly buy.
The 3rd gen m12 drill overheats within a couple minutes of use, even with relatively light load. This is for quick small holes to be drilled, a few at a time. I used mine for detailing, so I tried detail brushes on carpets and seats and the drill would overheat over 20 times in one 4ah battery. It became unusable. I even tried 4 different units and all of them had this issue. One set had a battery gauge that was not fully connected, and 2 of the 4 sets I tried had drivers that had gears that made click sounds in one direction or both. Overall quality control has gone very downhill for Milwaukee as far as I can tell. I ended up selling the drill and keeping the driver and upgrading to a completely new tool platform since Milwaukee doesn’t make a decent product anymore.
My first Milwaukee product and the M12 line up meets all the check marks. Upgrading from my old Ryobi products I wanted something more compact, but yet have enough power for what I need. Surprisingly the M12 12v drill and impact driver was strong. Way stronger than the old school 12v tools many years ago. I think it has more power than my cheap 18v Ryobi drill. I mainly wanted just the impact driver, but Homedepot had a pretty good sale on the combo along with a 45 bit set and free xc5ah high power battery. Glad I got the combo, because the drill rocks! Its just as powerful as the 18v drill I currently have in a smaller size. These 2 tools are going to be my 2 most used tool when its time to redo the wooden fence. Currently made a side gate and the impact driver made the job easier. Also used it to remove some rusted nuts. Trying to remove old rusted nuts from bolts wouls not have been a quick task of I didn't have the impact. Having both the drill and impact i no longer have to keep swapping out bits to do a simple job. Love it. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a drill and impact set.
Amazing Tools!! I really didn't believe that the last generation could be improved on but Milwaukee comes through again. The drill is faster and more powerful than the last generation and is also more powerful than some other brands in the 18v category. This is all the drill that the average homeowner and even some contractors will ever need. It's comfortable to hold and use. The battery life is outstanding and the battery life indicator is very nice. In my experience, the impact driver will outperform any other brand's 12v driver and a lot of the other brand's 18v drivers. I drove 25-6" head-lock screws into pressure treated pilings and the impact never faltered once. Unbelievable power for a compact tool. Highly Recommended!!!!
