This tool is a work of art and function.... it just feels right when you're using it. Good balance, design. Fit & finish are 1st class. The trigger lever has a very fine control from 0 to maximum RPM, with a certain amount of torque control. I was easily able to drill a hole in a very confined location, then to mount a tap in the chuck and tap threads in the work piece. The chuck is very easy to use. The work light comes on before the motor begins turning. There are rubber protrusions near the head that protects the tool and and surface its being set on.

A great M12 tool.

I recently purchased this drill and after reviewing others reviews, I would like to point out to the people leaving poor reviews that this is a M12 it will not have the torque that M18 will have and anyone complaining about that should stick with the M18 system. The comments about only one LED working needs to be explained to some, it only comes with one LED the other one on the opposite side is a red led that will light up if you exceed the drills capability. I feel being a M12 it is small and compact, a great addition to my Milwaukee tool kit. I would recommend it.

I’ve been using the Milwaukee M12 Right Angle Drill for several weeks now. Its compact size and make it perfect for getting into tight spaces where a standard drill just can’t fit. The power is impressive, providing more than enough torque for a variety of tasks, from drilling to driving screws. The battery life on the M12 system is also fantastic. Highly recommend!

Good for tight area drilling & driving
17 August 2024

I have only used it a few times and it has more power than I expected. It is also a bit heavier than I expected, but it is compact, so it should fit in tight spaces, which is what I purchased it for. One of the main reasons I purchased it is sometime when building with pocket screws, I need a driver/drill to fit in a smaller space than a compact driver, this will help.

Great for getting in tight spots!!
14 April 2022

Milwaukee's M12 right angle drill is perfect for getting into tight spots that a standard drill cannot fit into. The head size is 3 3/4 inches which really gets you into spaces that no other tool can get into. The drill delivers 100 in/lbs of torque which is plenty to be able to drill into wood or light metals in tight spots. The drill has a 3/8 chuck and also features an electronic clutch with12 torque settings. Along with an on board LED light and fuel gauge, this drill is very simple but packs loads of features. The paddle switch makes for easy use of the tool.I also own the M12 installation driver but even that tool has it's limits in terms of getting into tight spaces. The tool is very well balanced, I prefer to run a 2.0 battery on the drill for best balance. With this tool I don't have to bother with right angle attachments to get into those tight spaces. Overall very functional!!

Handy - built like a tank

Absolutely love this thing, didn't think I'd use it much but I do.-Very lightweight & well built-Tons of torque - pull the trigger on full battery and it'll twist in your hand a bit-Great for installing cabinets attaching face frames-Throw a drill brush or buffing pad on it, you can deep clean carpets & upholstery, buff your windshield or headlights (feels more natural than an actual drill to me for this purpose)-The 1.5 battery last plenty long for me-Light underneath chuck is helpful

I purchased this tool for a specific reason and it works for that. Before you jump on a right angle drill, make sure you NEED it. It will be less ergonomic as a drill since it is hard to push straight down. Your hand tends to touch the chuck so wear heavy gloves. As a screw or nut driver it can get into some tight places (which is what I needed). It has its uses but it is not the tool you will reach for under normal conditions. Let's talk about. that. torque limiting. As near I can figure, this is just a measurement of motor current draw. When it exceeds a limit, the power is cut and a red light comes on. There is a thumb wheel to set this with. Kind of a poorer solution to a clutch and I am not sure I will use it. This brings up two more points. There is a thumb wheel to set this with. Kind of a poorer solution to a clutch and I am not sure I will use it. This brings up two more points. This is not a "Fuel" tool in that it has a brushed rather than brushless motor. Battery life is shorter due the the reduced efficiency of this design. I read reviews about folks complaining that one LED was defective. Uummm-guys, that second LED was the red one for an over-torque event. It is not a second white LED. You get one of those which is bright enough. Finally, the max speed is 800 rpm. It is not adjustable by range, just by the trigger/paddle. It is kind of slow but with that motor and gearbox, that is about the best you could hope for. You will know if you need this. Don't buy it unless you do. Right angle drills are a speciality item. This is OK for light occasional duty to get you out of a jamb.

I wanted the M18 version of this but none of the local stores carried it so I wound up getting this after seeing the specs indicate you can drill a 1" hole in wood with a spade bit.I tested it out with some Bosch Daredevil spade bits. The 1" bit bogged down a bit and it took multiple attempts of reversing and starting over to get the hole through. The 3/4" daredevil bit went through each time.I don't think I'd recommend purchasing this tool if you primarily intend to use it bore holes in framing. That's what the Milwaukee Hole Hawg is for. This is a nice right angle drill to use in tight spaces for driving screws with the occasional use of boring larger holes. I purchased a right angle adapter for a regular drill but that was garbage that stripped gears after the first or second hole. This works a lot better than that but it's not what you'd want to use to rough in a hole house. If you don't mind the wait of ordering the M18 version of this has more torque. I wound up getting this because it was in stock, I have M12 batteries and it should suit my needs.I'm running some communications cables and I have a larger Milwaukee cordless right angle drill to bore the larger main holes but I needed something small and light that could get into tight spaces so I can drill down through the top plate with a 1/2" or 5/8" bit to feed the wires down to the wall plate. This is working fine for that. The LED work light is very important and illuminates the drilling area well. I really like how it flashes red when it clutches out instead of turning with the clutch disengaged and making that annoying noise. It's a good right angle drill but I think the owner's manual is a little optimistic when it claims it can do 1" holes with a spade bit. 3/4" went fine.

I was on the fence about buying this one and read all the reviews and I understand the complaints about the ergonomics of the direction switch, although I found it pretty easy to adjust to and it works pretty well but could get in the way on some jobs. I also get the complaints about the length but it keeps it slim, I was also thinking of getting the Ryobi, but in comparison its huge, and the battery is a monster, on this one with the smaller 1.5 or 2.0 M12 battery its pretty compact just a bit long. I was concerned about the paddle switch but it worked great and is easy to use in awkward situations and the speed switch is in a perfect spot so you can set it and not bump it. I was concerned about the paddle switch but it worked great and is easy to use in awkward situations and the speed switch is in a perfect spot so you can set it and not bump it. I bought this to drill the holes half in the crankshaft and half in the pulley for a GM LS motor since they don't have a key and are just a press fit so they can spin on the shaft in belt driven supercharger applications so they sell pinning kits to stop them from rotating. Its hard to get in there with the engine installed and the radiator still in place so this drill made the job go a lot easier and power was not a problem. I originally drilled pinned the shaft with the OEM balancer and used my standard Ryobi drill which required pulling the radiator and turning the engine over until the location for the hole was in just the right spot. It took forever to drill the hole. With this drill I blasted right through and didn't have to worry about where I needed the hole it just fit. The only thing I wish it had was the power indicator like some of my other brushless M12 tools. It is definitely a problem solver and maybe not something you will reach for every day but definitely worth having. It has serious torque for a small tool (well smallish it is still definitely decently sized) that fits in tight spots. The chuck worked well and was small enough but still got tight enough for a keyless. No idea how it will hold up in the long haul for heavy use but I am glad to have it. I should have put it on my shelf a long time ago since i have had numerous problems it could have helped with, but glad to have it now.

PLEASE WITH POWER AND USEFULLNESS
30 January 2023

I purchased the right-angle drill to help with work I was doing to the floor joists in my sons house. Both of us were impressed with how it helped us get into cramped spaces with plenty of power to drill thru single and double thickness of 2X12 pressure treated lumber. The switch that reverses the rotation of the drill is in a good location and makes it easy to back out the bit from the wood. It's cordless so there was no worry about an electric cord getting in the way. This is a well designed tool for DIY'ers.
