I have a collection of Milwaukee Fastback razors. Lightweight, durable, and safe. they’re perfect for everyday use, especially on the job. I love how effortlessly they open up, with a secure blade mechanism that stays strong during use while still being easy to change out when needed. They come in packs of two, which is a great bonus! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable, practical tool. These make great stocking stuffers!!

I have had this knife for about 3 years now and it’s honestly one of my “must haves” every time I start a project around the house. I love the fact that I can open it with one hand using the flip of my wrist and it locks in the open position. Only reason why I would give it 4 stars vs. 5 are the following: There’s a clip on the back side that is a bit too tight and most of the time is need two hands to open it. Wish they would find something w bit more flexible so I can clip it on everyday clothes and go. The second critique is the mechanism to release the razor blade. A true "everyday carry" tool
19 December 2022

It's like they say: The best knife for the job is the one you have with you. This is always with you and fast to whip out, plus tool-free blade changes means you can always have a fresh edge even if it's the only tool in your pocket. The opening mechanism is appropriately industrial and confident. Compared with a "normal" folding knife, it is not as easy to open -- but it's not a "normal" knife so that's okay. With some practice this can be "flicked" open one-handed, no-look. It only took me about 2 weeks of constant use to get that movement down. Because once you have this on your hip, you use it all. the. time.Only thing that could make this tool better is if the pocket clip were at the tail instead of the pivot end, resulting in a "tip down" carry. Because once you have this on your hip, you use it all. the. time.Only thing that could make this tool better is if the pocket clip were at the tail instead of the pivot end, resulting in a "tip down" carry. That way when you pull it out of your pocket you can open it immediately without having to first pivot it around in your hand. That would also improve how the knife fits in the hand since the pocket clip would be moved to the heel of your palm. It's not uncomfortable where it is -- it just reduces control. It looks like there is plenty of "meat" on the grip to move the pocket clip, so I'm a bit confused as to why this wasn't done in the first place. Moving the clip to the tail would also allow for putting a mounting point on both sides of the handle, so lefties can enjoy this knife, too.I haven't had it long enough to know if the blades will start to fall out, like other reviews state. If that does happen, this knife goes down to 2 stars because that level of durability is not acceptable from Milwaukee. But until then -- it's a winner!

I am truly dissapointed.....
19 July 2023

Since I bought it new, the "blade holder" doesn't open, tried to open it by prying it lighly at the small tip and it cracked immediately. very dissapointed. I love and recommend Milwaukee tools, ben using them for the last 40 years in industrial environment. loved them because they are bulletproof, but to get an unit using BAD CHEAP plastic is really a deal breaker for me and an opportunity for competitors to eat you up. I feel bad that you are eroding the loyalty of customers like me... I can't show any any friends, visitors, the built and well enginering of the Milwaukee tools. I just bought an extra power M12 screwdriver to add to my toolbox, the new one is also plastic and definitely don't have the faith I normally have... the power screwdrivers made out of ... MoreSince I bought it new, the "blade holder" doesn't open, tried to open it by prying it lighly at the small tip and it cracked immediately. very dissapointed. I love this knife! However everyone I have bought has broke.
9 July 2024

I do drywall most days and love this knife. However I have bought about ten and everyone has failed within a couple months. Always same part witch is the quick change button. After awhile it will no longer hold the blade in and renders the knife unless. Everyone everytime. At ..$15 to $20dollars depending on what one you get I don't feel is right. Something you guys should definitely remedy.

Nice utility knife, could be better...
10 May 2023

Had a Dewalt folding utility knife that held 3 blades, it broke so I needed a new utility knife. I chose this one because it's metal body, holds 5 blades, can strip wires & can open & close really fast ! The only thing I gave a ding on was the blade design...The button to load & unload the blade is a little bit goofy/odd. Not as easy to operate as the Dewalt was. And also the blade itself cannot retract in or out like a regular utility knife. So if I'm just opening a box/packageI don't need the full blade, I would just need a 1/4 of the blade. But this one is all or none. It is overall bigger than the Dewalt and fits my hand better & the belt clip is better than the Dewalt...

Viable substitute for the discontinued 48-22-1903
18 December 2024

Bought to replace the discontinued 48-22-1903 model, this one, model 48-22-1502, is lighter, narrower and doesn't lock at 45°. It's easier to flip open. When closed, the blade holder rattles around a bit, potentially an issue for EDC use.I'm satisfied with this newer model. I prefer the heft of the older model, making this new model my second favorite utility knife, followed by the slightly less comfortable Fiskars ‎770030-1001, which is still far better than the Fancii ‎1B-UK10.

Where is the Milwaukee from 20 years ago?!?
18 February 2024

What happened to you Milwaukee?!? Your name used to be synonymous with quality... the operative word in that sentence is USED because a lot of the tools I've bought over the last few years have been average at best. This knife is a perfect example. It broke while SHARPENING A PENCIL. And it's not like this is a fluke because a lot of your other tools have been of poor quality lately too... let's use your mud mixer as another example. I've bought 3 in the last 4 years and they ARE ALL BROKEN in some way. None of their chucks will hold a paddle longer than one or two bucket of mud mixed and the speed control wheels stick almost immediately. This is just one example of the many, many products of yours that I own. Please tighten up your quality control and make it ... MoreWhat happened to you Milwaukee?!? Please tighten up your quality control and make it easier to get warranty work done on your tools since they break more and more often lately. If your tools are going to need service I shouldn't have to put much effort or time into getting that done. My commitment to you was complete when I paid for your tool and warranty.

Loaded with a full complement of 5 spare blades, this utility knife tips the scales at 139 grams, about the same weight as a Samsung Galaxy S6 or Apple iPhone 7. Although that extra heft will weigh down a tool belt (or your pants pocket) a bit more, it also makes the tool feel very solid. If your pockets are full and you don't have a tool belt, the knife can be easily clipped to a belt or even just the belt loop of your pants. This tool has one of the better belt clips I've used, allowing for single-handed attachment without any fuss, and holding very securely once its clipped in place. The blade folds securely away for safe carrying like a pocket knife and is kept folded by a catch. This tool has one of the better belt clips I've used, allowing for single-handed attachment without any fuss, and holding very securely once its clipped in place. The blade folds securely away for safe carrying like a pocket knife and is kept folded by a catch. Unlike a typical pocket knife, though, the blade on this utility knife can be opened and closed with one hand by pressing down a smallish 1/4" diameter button with your thumb to release the catch, and then using a quick wrist-flick motion (check out the short video). In either open or closed position, the blade is held rock-solid. The pressure needed to release the folding catch is noticeable due to the sturdy spring used, and further accentuated by the small size of the button. If you tend to open and close the blade often, your thumb could start to protest from overcoming the spring pressure of that small button. When it comes time to replace the blade, the process is both quick and easy - you simply press down on a thin, elongated button that looks like the top of a heavy-duty staple (it's located near the top edge of the blade), and that releases the catch that locks the removable blade in place. As with the folding mechanism, though, that very thin release button really accentuates the spring force you'll be overcoming to release the blade and makes it virtually impossible to press the button down if you're wearing heavy, full-finger gloves.Overall, this Milwaukee utility knife feels like it's designed to work and to last.
