I had the last version of this drill and was happy, but this newer version takes a little less space in my already overpacked tool bag. Size and weight are affecting me as l go to each job. Already l trust the power l need for my general duties from wood/metal/masonry. It gets me there without needing my larger 18 Volt tools which weigh more and the battery being bigger. From light to general duties this is great for my jobs. Now to see if it can compete with the larger tools at 18volt then that would be bonus!

Worked great for first 4 months then just gave up. I am a homeowner and used only occasionally but the gears seemed to have stripped out. Can’t even drill a hole in a piece of wood without it stopping even with a new battery. I can even stop the drill by holding the chuck. I have a brushless 12v Milwaukee that I have had for years and it is still working great. Bought the new one because of the 1/2 chuck and being brushless but it turned out to be junk.

Better than I anticipated. I have the M18 hammer drill and anticipated a large difference in power. As of now, I haven't came across anything I couldn't drill and I use 1" auger bits and spade bits quite often. I'm sure if I compared them side by side I would see the difference, but I have no complaints on the drills ability to get work done. I was a little disappointed that there wasnt a bit holder on the drill or the impact, But then again, Milwaukee seems to have troubles making a good bit holder

Great compact drill. Wish it came with 2 big batteries but still worth the price! Great warranty included and easy way to set up a repair service. My hammer functionality stopped working and my chuck got the wobbles. Signed up for eService on here and it was super easy and quick.
Absolutely amazing drill. This is my first Milwaukee tool ever and now I understand why people are so loyal to this brand. I've always been driven away by the price of the Milwaukee M18 tools and was actually researching other brands with 18V tools (Ridgid and Ryobi) to get a nice combo set with the basics. In my search, I found the M12 Fuel Hammer Drill / Impact Driver combo on sale and could not pass it up. The build quality is fantastic and I can tell this tool is well made and will last me a long time. I still intend to get a more expansive combo set with a full sized drill and impact but for 90% of my uses, this tool is more than enough. So far, I have used it to drill into drywall and studs to put up some heavy framed art. I also tried using it with a drill ... MoreAbsolutely amazing drill. So far, I have used it to drill into drywall and studs to put up some heavy framed art. I also tried using it with a drill brush to clean my shower and it did not disappoint. I believe this tool could also handle heavier applications but I think it's perfect as an everyday carry drill and its light weight and smaller profile is perfect for most of a home owner's needs. I highly recommend this drill, it has convinced me to try out a few more M12 tools since they are so much more affordable than the M18 lineup.
M12 FUEL™ 1/2" Hammer Drill/Driver is an excellent very powerful, compact, and light weight drill which I am using on daily basis. I love its power and compactness. It became my favorite drill very quickly. Quality of this tool is outstanding. Great job Milwaukee Team. Very much appreciated.
I use this tool daily as a electrician and I have to say every new re- vamp Milwaukee comes out with is worse and worse the gears ratchet on drill mode in first with one hand it constantly overloads and needs to cool down and that happens before you use 1/2 of a 4 amp hour battery. Sick of returning these for warranty but every time I do the original M12 fuel is in my garage with 5+ hard years under it's belt and probably another 5 to go. Getting harder and harder to justify purchasing these tools.
Its really amazing how small and powerful these drills are. They also have the hammer drill option for smaller jobs which comes in real handy installing tap-cons into cement (get a dedicated hammer drill for big jobs). Having the 1/2" chuck is great along with the short length. We use these on our air handlers for work and they have held up wonderfully. We are very pleased with these tools and Highly recommend them.
Milwaukee is doing some really great things! I love all their tools and this 12v drill is no exception, it looks and feels like and 18v. Unless you're a contractor that needs to push and abuse their tools 12-14 hours a day, this drill will be way more than enough for anything you will ever need and quite honestly I'm sure it would be fine for the contractor too!
My hands are huge and It's amazing when I've used 3 other brands of 18volt drill guns and your 12volt gun is the most comfortable in my hands. I live how thick it is and how my hand isn't jammed si high to accidently press the drill in/drill out button. And the power you put into 12v is the sane as other 18v units. Love mikwaukee power and quality
