A great value product

Easy to assemble and good value. After reading other reviews, I used a marine grade timber varnish to protect them and the chairs are now sitting in the sun. It’s only been a couple of weeks but we’re very happy. They are comfortable and comparable to our other adirondacks which were far more expensive. They also look great.

Best purchase of lockdown

We ordered during lockdown sight unseen and were nervous about the quality given some previous lackluster reviews about staining/durability. Not only is the quality so much better than we expected, but we found the assembly instructions gave clear directions on how to mitigate these other 'issues'. In following the manufacturer instructions we've had zero problems. We are very pleased with our purchase.

Comfortable and durable - great around the pool

This is a great interpretation of the Adirondack/Cape Cod chair. It’s comfortable, sturdy, good looking yet understated and even looks authentic. We bought our first one of these from Bunnings 5 or 6 years ago and I’ve tightened up the screws and bolts from time to time, never oiled or treated the wood, always left it outside in the rain all year round and it’s only just started to fall apart. So I stripped out the old and weak metal fixings and replaced them with new galvanised M8 bolts with nuts and washers and grease and d’you know what - it’s as strong as when new and should last a couple more years at least before the wood finally gives out.The armrests are wide enough for a cuppa tea or a beer or other preferred by-the-pool tipple. It’s easily the most ... MoreThis is a great interpretation of the Adirondack/Cape Cod chair. It’s easily the most durable and pleasing outdoor wooden chair we’ve had and that’s why we decided to buy another one now, they’re great around the pool.No cushions are required.Ah yes - even in these inflated times, from memory it’s still more or less the same price in November 2022 as it was when we bought the first one, so … 5+ stars.

Good style and comfort
26 November 2021

It's still early days, I guess, but I like this chair. IMO it is superior in style and comfort to other available Cape Cod/Adirondacks - both cheaper ones, AND more expensive ones. A few glitches in assembly, and it remains to be seen how robust it turns out to be, as it has only been outside a few weeks. But so far so good. I did take the time to follow the recommendations regarding hosing it down a few times (to combat bleeding/staining), and applying a couple of coats of timber oil and letting them dry, before placing it outside. We'll see how it goes, I guess, but for now I'm really enjoying it. And I'm thinking of getting the Side Table too (but it's out of stock).

Great Chairs…Cheap Screws that Rust.
28 May 2022

Nice chairs and easy to put together. Problem is the cheap screws that rusted almost immediately even though the chairs are under cover. Every single one of them…which ruins the look of them. At $175 each, I’d expect better quality.

Leaching makes this a product that should not be sold
1 October 2022

Leaching is a huge issue. I followed the instructions to hose, leave in rain etc. but the leaching continued later and was huge, ruining the surface it is on. It is not a serviceable product and should not be sold.

Not robust, do not leave outside!
2 September 2021

We bought two of these towards the back end of last summer. One is now in pieces and I'm trying to repair it. I wanted to take it back but was too difficult once constructed due to its size. All the fixings are rusty and the timber has cracked and swollen so the fixings no longer hold. I think they'd be okay if you kept them in your living room but as outdoor chairs they're pretty disappointing - I feel it's only a matter of time until the second one needs repair as it's already wobbly. Consider other options - it's a shame because they look good when first constucted.

Poor quality and just not strong enough
6 February 2022

Very disappointing. Bought two, and after three months they were rickety with the screws working loose.Timber is too thin and the fastenings arent up to the Australian climate. I'm normally a big Bunnings fan. But this one lets the side down. Would have expected a lot more for $165 each.

Trash quality. Don't buy
24 December 2022

Trash. Dont bother. Even pre-lacquered it with marine grade lacquer but it hasn't lasted 8 months. Falling to bits with screws pulling out of the arms and the whole thing now loose and a hazardous piece of firewood waiting to hurt somebody.
