As an early reviewer I received a copy of this game in exchange for my opinion.My 10 year old son and I started a round late on a Saturday night, and even though it took a little bit to set the game up, we were able to at least finish the first round of scoring in before bed. Easy to play but complex enough to keep you interested

My son LOVES Minecraft so playing this with him was a treat. Some games it feels like the theme was just sort of slapped on, but with this one the building based on blocks you "mined" was enough to make it feel at least related to the theme. You can fight enemies or just concentrate on building, it's up to you (much like in Minecraft)!My son is 9 and he had a great time with this game. What I really liked was there were rules for younger kids as well as more complex rules for once they get a bit older. You build different biomes from Minecraft and if you're using the easier rules you can just build anywhere in your individual build map. In the more complex version, they have to be connected. Other than that the game is a lot of fun a looks amazing. I recommend this to board Minecraft fans and board gamers alike.

Fun, light strategy game

I finally had a chance to sit down with this game. The mechanics were surprisingly good for a video game spin-off. Plenty of strategy that fit the Minecraft theme perfectly. Unfortunately, the game components are substandard. Player figures are cardboard standees with no differentiation (they're all "Steve" in primary colors) and the game tiles are thin cardboard that was already warped before punching them out. This doesn't affect playability, but will no doubt reduce longevity.

It's Minecraft, but on your table!

I'm going to start off by saying, this game is fantastic!! It is great for kids, adults, or anyone who loves Minecraft. The actions you can take on your turn give you a lot of different options that allow you to get victory points multiple different ways. The very core of the game is select a couple of actions on your turn and collect sets of bricks to build specific buildings. OR you can get a bunch of weapons and fight mobs to gain victory points and new ways to earn points at the end of the game. Then at the end of each phase you score points based off of what your player board looks like. Me and my son received this game for review. My son is 14 so a little older and getting out of board games unfortunately but he LOVES Minecraft so perfect chance to get him back to the game table. It took some time to setup and for out first game (around 5 hours). We YouTubed how to play because it is more complicated than some. We absolutely loved this game and have played a few times now. The game is sturdy and will last forever with us. Love the building blocks! The note cards are wonderful for picking back up and playing again. A lot of thought went into making this. My son actually lost the first game and still wanted to play more! So many different ways you can choose to go through the hand that it has great replay value. Our seven year old and 10 year old grandsons have thoroughly enjoyed this game. The strategy building the creativity has been absolutely excellent. It keeps them busy and their mines active and busy for hours on end. We as grandparents stole the show this Christmas with this purchase.

Minecrafter?s will love this! We played as a family with two adults and two children under 10. It was a little complicated to set up and get started but once we got the hang of it, it was great! A helpful hint is to watch the YouTube tutorial #howitsplayed for a better understanding in general. The video stated that it is partially funded by Ravensburger as well. It?s was so helpful to us.As always the game quality is wonderfully made. If I had to pick out something, it would have been nice if the squares on the board to keep track of your score were a little bigger and heavier so they stay in place better. Very Fun Game For All Ages!

I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves board games or any Minecraft fan. I loved how strategic this game is. Minecraft Builders & Biomes is a very kid-friendly game but definitely makes you think. I also appreciated that there are rules for how to play the game in "easy mode." You can play the game with easy rules for some players, and regular rules for others. So the game can be fair when adults are playing with kids (or advanced players with new players).Overall, this is a fairly quick game to play and does not take very long to learn how to play.
