Family adventure at an affordable price. I bought the Minelab Equinox 800 for myself and a Garrett ACE 400 for my 13 year old son. Although we found mostly nails and pull tabs the most important thing we both walked back to our car with and for the rest of our lives is the priceless memories. I’ve had this detector for over a year and it takes time to learn the settings. On default settings you can find anything and everything but once you tweak the settings to what you are after. It would be hard to beat this detector. Battery life is about 10 hrs of use. I’ve used it all day until it finally dies and by that time it’s dark anyway! I’ve found targets down to 14” but most will be 10” or less. It goes deep for sure!

I found you folks last year when I got my Equinox 800 and with the veteran discount your price could not be beat. I did think I was getting all the stuff with the machine; I did not read the closely the detail of the deal. I did end up getting a carry case and book for the machine too which diminished the discount however I was happy with your service and shipping speed. I started metal detecting a long time ago with a Bounty Hunter and most likely an old BFO machine prior to that. The Bounty Hunter was blue with a metal case and it ran on 2- 9 volt batteries. It was a lot of fun to use and I still have some items I found with that machine. I have had several White's machines that I enjoyed. This will be my 3rd Minelab machine.Best Regards,Tim

Works well beach and bush so far. No major finds but found stuff on beach that detector costing much much more could not. Don't put this down to my ability but the machines standard settings allowing a novice like me to use it. Whereas the novice with the expensive expert unit just didn't know how to use it. A great entry level detector that has the standard settings that give you the confidence to start tweeking settings and fine tuning. Cant wait for lockdown to finish so I can get out again.
This is my third detector, my two previous Garrett detectors were from metaldetector.com. Having had success with them in the past, I checked them out first. It turns out that they don’t carry Minelab detectors. I began to research other companies online when I came across your company. The price point was the same as other companies but your company offered more additional accessories at no additional cost, the storage/carrying bag being the most important “free” accessory. I hope this feedback was beneficial and I look forward to receiving my new metal detector soon.
You will need to learn this detector, it's not for beginners. As with all detectors it's about listening and concentration on the audio response. So many variables to set up on this detector which is good.for experienced detectorists. I am using the 15inch coil. to cover more area but I think I may need to go to the 11inch whilst I get used to the detector when finding signals between iron. It likes big IRON so a Profind 35 pinpointer will be needed. The 35 detects iron to save you digging it when the equinox says its a good signal. I have used several detectors and this one will take a long time to get used too. I Watched lots of YouTube videos first, but still need to watch more. I do try to run detectors at max sensitivity to get deeper targets., This one I had to dial back as there was so much feedback The multi frequency and the fact it sees big IRON. as good target. means you have to dig anything that sounds interesting.

The next day, I headed out to our fishing camp in south Louisiana. The first thing I did was “noise cancel” and set the mode to Park 1. I then threw a few coins on the ground to see if I could locate them again. They all seemed to find their way into crevices among the shells, so I was not able to see them outright. I was able to find all the coins in short order. The first thing I found was a copper ring. I was surprised when I dug down through the shells about 3 inches and it turned up, ... My experience with Modern Metal Detectors has been positive. I purchased the Equinox 800 at a competitive price and elected not to take advantage of their 15% military discount, but rather get the free carry bag, cap, book, and coil. I will consider Modern Metal Detectors for future purchases.

The detector just finds more good targets for whatever reason. My jewelry finds rate has increased a lot and so has my silver finds. I recently dug an old penny at 11 inches , the equinox got it with depth to spare. The wireless options are great and the wireless module i find works superb with nugget buster headphones sparking up finds at an amazing rate, every coin and bit of jewelry the coil sweeps over is "lit up". The standard shafts that come with the machine were soon replaced with a tele knox design this is a telescopic fully adjustable shaft system which makes it much ... The depths i am finding at have forced me to get an improved digging spade 1 foot + holes a good digger is needed. A better battery with more run time than the standard 12 hour run time would be nice. 18 - 24 hours would be perfect. .Having owned and used an xpdeus i personally prefer the Equinox by far. The audio is so smooth on the knox. Pleasing to the ear. The only downside to this detector in my opinion like i say is the shaft system which could have been better for portability.
I have had this unit for just over 12 months and love it! It is used weekly and even daily at times. Battery life is great and easy to charge. I have found a number of pieces of jewellery and plenty of coins, my oldest coin being aver 120 years old. I have used this in parks, beaches, open fields and in the gold county. I have had luck with a small .5g gold piece found, my only one so far. I love this unit as does the kids. The only part I've had trouble with is the armrest, it has broken on me a couple of time - easy to replace though with a kit being available to order.
I used this for the first week when raining. Perfect. Also walked in creek beds up to knees in water and simply laid it on the creek bed completely submerged while I panned a little. Perfect. I used this for four days without needing to recharge. Doesn’t matter as I also carried a USB power bank with me as backup if needed. Love that I don’t need to fuss about with expensive batteries adding consumable coats to other units I compared this with. Easy to start as a novice but a pro unit capable of detecting even the smallest pieces amidst the trash. I used some local gold pieces initially from others to quickly learn the numbers.
