Beautiful sheers - with generous amount of fabric for size!

Absolutely beautiful sheers! I originally bought a larger size until I realised that the width they quote at the top when you're making your selection is the "for width of" instead of the actual width of the sheer fabric.... Most companies give the exact width of the curtain (like Ikea where I bought the first set of hugely too small sheers) but you need double the width for a S fold curtain.... I only needed 2 x 140cm sheers to cover a full 280 wide window. I used an ikea ceiling track, as I'd already set that up before realising the ikea curtains were too small, and it worked perfectly (don't let em tell you have to have the Freedom track, as the ikea one still worked). All in all, I'm very impressed with these sheers, they add a softness to the room that was ... MoreAbsolutely beautiful sheers! Curtain itself looks good, as expected.Still needs to be hemmed. For 385cm width curtain I ended up using 38 hooks, so there are two empty carriers left on the the 220cm track for 180cm window.Track is ceiling mounted as attaching to the wall would be soo much more difficult with 4*4=16 holes needed to be drilled!!!I don't like purple track colour, was expected white as on Freedom pictures. Can't say anything about how easy it's to vacuum/wash/dry.Customer service was awful. With online order placed 30 Jan 23, expected delivery 2-5 days I have asked for refund 10 Feb as no one could say when my order will be delivered. But after raising dispute via PayPal suddenly my order appeared to be placed 10 Feb and delivered 14 Feb. Magic!

I bought these on sale with the tracks and curtain pulls on sale for just under $300 (two large windows). Compared to a professional custom curtain quote I got for upwards of $2k. I’ve never installed curtains myself and thought I’d give it a go given the savings. So impressed with the outcome! Hemming was slightly nerve racking and I didn’t get it perfect, but it’s surprising only forgiving, and once it’s all done you don’t notice the minor imperfections. For the savings I honk it’s totally worth the time investment to install. They look excellent and lovely quality!

I have just recently installed
9 March 2024

I have just recently installed these sheer curtains. The material is quite durable. I have hemmed the curtains by stitching them, and it hasn’t left any holes or puckering in the material. They are a very long drop, and seem to be perfect for tall windows / glass. I had to roll up the hem three times. They create such a beautiful diffused light, when the sun shines through them. They really seem to finish and style the window. And look quite elegant for a very reasonable price. I bought two drops so I could get a lot of folds and S bends for the window. I definitely recommend this product. However, I would say that they best go with a block out curtain, especially if it’s near a TV. As the diffused light can cast a bit of glare on TV monitors. An excellent product!

5 March 2024

Once the curtains hang, they look nice but to attach the hem for getting the right lngth is not as easy as it looks like. It says also, to attach the ham use warm iron setting, but I had to put it on the highest setting as the self-adhesive ham wouldn't stay on. The curtain itself doesn't flow as I was hoping for and although washed and hung up immediately the material felt a bit awkward and the crinkles didn't disappear. It needs definitely ironing.

Overall: these requires extra money
1 September 2024

Overall: these requires extra money and time to spend to finish the curtain, which was not clear on the description. It says ready made, but it is not. The size is also wrong as it is 280cm length RAW, before the bottom hem is done, so it will necessarily be shorter by 3-10cm. And the Freedom customer service did not care about my complaint about the above, which is astonishing.Finish: the curtain is advertised as "ready made" but it is not. The bottom hem is not done (not sewed) and the bottom of the curtain is cut roughly at 280cm, left with a raw edge, and you will need to hem it yourself. According to the description, hemming tape is provided to "suit to size", but it does not say anywhere that there is no hemming at all and a raw edge. According to the description, hemming tape is provided to "suit to size", but it does not say anywhere that there is no hemming at all and a raw edge. My ceilings being above 280cm, I planned on hanging the curtain directly without having to suit to size (since 280cm is, indeed, suitable) but in the end I had to hem them.Hemming curtains of 630cm length -the 360cm curtain- requires lots of time, patience or money if you pay a seamstress. There is also little explanation on how to best hem the curtains, so be prepared to do your research.I found that hanging the curtain at the desired height then using paper clips to fold at the right height above floor (online curtain makers recommend 0.5-2cm above ground, Freedom does not give you any recommendations...) is a good way to determine the good height. Then you will have to have an iron and table and some weights, flip the curtain on the table and do the hemming with the tape or, if you have one, with a sewing machine. If you have to cut the curtain, make sure to fold in the raw edge or it'll fray, that mean you will need extra hemming tape for it.For a more professional look, I recommend using 10cm of curtain with the very bottom hemmed on itself on a 2cm band to start, then a larger hem using a 8cm band. It took me just over an hour per linear meter of curtain (rail size) to obtain this look with good results but I'm quite handy so I imagine this would be too difficult for most people. The curtain header is otherwise nice and easy to use. It just does not make sense that the curtains are not hemmed at the bottom.Material: it is a nice sheer, good level of thickness but not so thick that you don't see outside at all.Colour: it is ice white of the box, that is it appears light blue/grey. After a week, it's not as blue anymore but still a very cool and bright ice white. I'm expecting it to fade into a bright white. I would have preferred a more neutral (natural) white which goes with warm and cool wall colours. Don't get these curtains if you have warm coloured walls or double curtains next to it, it will clash badly and look awful.

Positives: Nice Fabric Negatives: Fabric
28 February 2024

Positives:Nice FabricNegatives:Fabric is far too long (2.8m, but the standard ceiling height in Australia is 2.4m) .Having an extra 40cm of fabric is unnecessary and makes it difficult to work with. I cut 40cm off these curtains before I hung them up (we hung them just below the cornices) and unfortunately the bottom has now started to fray. I think these curtains should have been made to 2.4m and hemmed. Very important for this fabric as it is likely to fray if not machine hemmed.

These are beautiful curtainsI have these in all the bedrooms and they white makes them pop. (hint we also used the black pelmet tracks for extra boldness ). hubby and I couldn't be happier with how it's coming together :)in comparison I have used the bardwell s fold in the living areas and they are a different but I'd say also better quality and steaming them was quick and easy, however they are more expensive.

4 April 2024

Very happy with how my curtains look. I was quoted between $1000-2000 for custom made and thankfully found these to suit my wall size for just under $500 for sheer and blockout. Ceiling Installation between cornicing was pretty easy. The hemming was also pretty straightforward. Left a 10cm space between the two tracks and smaller again against the cornice. Possibly could have installed first track along edge of cornice. My only gripes would be track joiner grub screws are rubbish and barely hold and the sheer fabric is a little stiff (especially after hemming) and isn’t folding nearly as nicely as the blockout or as full looking. Would absolutely recommend though.

We have a huge project
2 March 2023

We have a huge project as we need curtains for our new build. The freedom system works well if you can buy everything you need. The quality was great when we went to look in store, but we are yet to install as our house isn't finished yet. That's where the good stuff ends - Freedom has been a nightmare to deal with. 5 separate orders to get everything we need. Orders canceled without communication. Refunds showing as rounding on an invoice($1400 of rounding - I don't think so). Long waits and miscommunication on the 'chat' helpline. I have needed a spreadsheet to keep track of it all as it is such a mess. Even click and collect they got the order wrong!Hopefully this nightmare will be forgotten once I get my curtains up.
