I wear these shoes for an early morning sprint session on the oval during winter. When I run only the stars are up and the city sleeps but the dew on the grass is present. If I'm wearing my Wave Riders then the toe box will become soaked however when the GTX my feet remain dryI also took them for a good punishing trail run on the week up Mount Bogong followed by another run later in the day up Bonocord Spur to the Razor Back. Crossing multiple streams obviously my socks would become wet, however the grip was very stable to stop me sliding off loose rocks under foot. The only reason why I haven't given them five stars is they are noticeably heavier than the Wave Riders (24 and 25)

Was looking f a goretex trail shoe that adapts well to street wear. WR has proven t b a great solution. Appreciate the understated styling. I struggle to find quality fit + comfortable step + durable construct, so this shoe was a most satisying purchase.

After only wearing these shoes walking a few times they started making a 'popping' noise from the heel while walking. It seems to be a fault in the shoes and it's so annoying I can't wear them. No luck with the Athlete's Foot in acknowledging this or providing a refund. Wouldn't recommend.

Bought a pair of the men's Wave Rider Gore-tex at Athlete's foot and as usual the staff were very helpful. My main use is walking in wet and muddy fields and tracks. The shoes fit well and are waterproof. They seem comfortable initially but on a longer walk they are not firm enough in the midsole/sole. Eventually removed the insole and found it to be very soft and spongy. The midsole is also quite soft so overall improved by swapping with a more conventional insole. My wife had same issue with her non gore-tex wave riders, replaced the insole.
Great shoe all in all. I really like the way they feel on my feet. Maybe go a half size up then your normal size just for movement if you prefer a little. Seems right on the tongue initially.
Have not had wet socks or really tested in the shoes in wet weather to date other than damp grass. Comfort good; although, a bit more padding in the tongue would be nice. Are a bit heavier than regular joggers which is to be expected regarding gortex upper. Good grippy sole and good shock absorption. Happy with thickness of laces as have brought a reputable brand previous shoes and laces where to thin as they easily get knotted or difficult to untie. Nice work Mizuno.
Lovely build quality and comfort! They’re very stable and comfortable. They’re not the “walking on a cloud” cushioning, they’re more responsive which is nice. Surprisingly understated and stylish in the best way so they fit in the city as well as on a run. They’re a bit warmer and less breathable than I was hoping for, and I realize that’s part of the waterproofness of them, but I was still hoping for a bit more breathability in peak heat. No regrets though, they’re marvellous.
Very snug fit and most comfortable running shoe I have used. Moulded perfectly cushioning my joints. My third pair of Mizuno runners and they are getting better and better. Remarkable all round terrain runner. I only started using Mizuno to support the company for sponsoring Jerry Tuwai Fiji’s Rugby 7’s legend and turned out good for me prolonging my 55 year old bodies running career!! Well done Mizuno
I developed a heel strike injury after wearing another famous brand for walking the dog. These Mizuno’s are very good. Very soft on the heel, water proof, good grip and they’re not heavy. I can use them for running too when I go camping and I’m short on space.
