I do not recommend these runners. I jogged 1.25 hours on 4 consecutive days and now have sore spots on the top of my feet. The last run was difficult to complete. The problem is where the tongue meets with the shoe as there is a fold where it attaches to the shoe. I therefore have 4 sore spots. I have returned to using my old winter runners. After a 3 day rest, I tried the new runners for a walk and did not get beyond the laneway. I have previously purchased Mizuno wave rider runners and loved them. Do not buy these winter runners.

Okay, so I previously had bought a pair of mizuno wave rider 23s. I felt like these were very stiff and not well cushioned, and the wave plate hurt my arch whenever I ran. When I bought the mizuno 24s, I was shocked! The cushioning is soo much bouncier and with a touch of softness! I love them! They seemed to have fixed the wave plate so that it no longer digs into your arch, and instead absorbs some shock and provides a bouncier feel. Also, I have calf problems so my doctor said I couldn't run in high-cushioned shoes, such as Hokas, which originally I was running in. I swapped to these mizunos and I haven't had any pain since. It's a very smooth comfortable ride. Ladies: Don't listen to reps that tell u buy the mens' equivalent (1.5 sizes smaller than a womens size) if u want a wide.I tried and found the mens sizes to be constructed higher on the sides (and rubbing my ankles), and, disproportionally longer in the heel area. My big toe in the mens 8 (supposedly =to a womens 9.5W) still hit the toe box, and, even though my piggies in the mens 8.5 ( supposedly = to a women's 10W) cleared the toe box, the heel was so big that my fingers could easily fit in the space between the back of my foot and the sneaker. Why in heaven Mizuno doesn't offer a standard black or denim color for each model is beyond comprehension.This brought me to explore the WaveKnit Wave Rider and Wave Sky; both offered in black. Surprisingly, the WaveKnit Rider was much more cushier than the Wave Rider despite both supposedly having the same foot bed. In fact, the WaveKnit Rider seemed to extend the cushion to the back portion of the ball of my foot which felt a little luxurious. On the flip side, the 1 size up 10 WaveKnit Rider had too much of a snug feel on the sides of the toe box and the big toe barely cleared. The Wave Rider 10 was much roomier but less cushioned than its WaveKnit sista. I would have tried to buy the WaveKnit Rider in a 10 Wide, but Road Runner doesn't offer it, errrr! The Wave Sky ,will be my last hail mary.
I have been wearing Wave Riders for 13 years and these are my least favorite (right after the 13s). They are not good for those with narrow feet and high arches. I loved the 22s. The 24s hurt my feet every time I run and they have actually limited my running because I worry about how they will hurt my feet. I have loved Mizunos for years as they fit my narrow feet perfectly - until now. The toe box is too big and my feet slide around too much. It takes forever to get the exact fit with the laces to try to keep my feet in place. Either cuts off circulation to my toes or my feet slide around. Really disappointed and hope that the next iteration is better than these. These shoes have taken the fun out of running.

I run 12-20 miles a week. I have run in Mizuno Wave Riders for several years. The last iteration that I loved was the 22. My foot went numb in the 23 after a half a mile, and I never ran in them again. The 24s have less cushion in the forefoot and the 3D print style fabric is quite inflexible, is missing some fabric cushioning and doesn't feel like it hugs your foot. It is also not a good change. I do not use waveknit. It is too flexible with too much lateral movement, so the fabric style of the 22s and below was just right. Sizing also seems a bit off. The toes are too wide. Very disappointed in the 24 and 23. Not happy with the pain in my foot that wearing them has created.

I have been running in your Wave Rider shoes for at least 12 years. They've gotten me through too many to count half marathons and 5 marathons snd hands down, I have loved them. In that time, you've changed the design significantly twice and both times have made them worse. This last time have actually caused problems with my feet (shorter design and more narrow toe box). I've bought a half size bigger but they still don't work. Why, oh, why do you mess with them?!? At the suggestion of my PT, I will be visiting my local running store to find a new shoe. I can't tell you how sad this makes me but I just can't run with the Wave Rider anymore.
