I worked for Mobil and ExxonMobil in their Lubricants and Lubrication Sciences RD for 22 of my 41 years in this line of work. Mobil always had a no compromise attitude about MOBIL 1 engine oils. This one is their Premier Product in the MOBIL 1 engine oil line - you can be guaranteed it is great ! ! !I witnessed two BMW 318i vehicles run on Mobil 1 for over 1 million miles back during the 1990s and when the engines were torn down afterwards, the lubricated parts all appeared actually like brand new - still had the original machining marks ! ! ! Now that is great testament to a great engine oil ! ! !

I started using Mobil 1 5W20 EP after my initial 3000 Mile "break-in" period on my '07 Wrangler. I "ignore" the 15,000 to 20,000 mi change interval and opted to stay with Mopar's 3000 mile or 3 month owners manual requirements. YES it is a very expensive decision to change it on this schedule BUT... I have 182,000 miles on her with zero engine problems to date. A year ago she went in to have an intake manifold gasket changed and the valve rocker oil gallys / covers looked BRAND NEW no sludge or oil "stains"... about 3 months ago I had the Jeep Dealership reseal the lower oil pan (both are TYPICAL Wrangler issues), and again... I looked at the oil pan and it also looked BRAND NEW with no sludge or oil "stains"! (The Technician even commented on how good she looked) ... MoreI started using Mobil 1 5W20 EP after my initial 3000 Mile "break-in" period on my '07 Wrangler. What more can anyone ask from an engine with 182,000 miles on it? Thank you Exon / Mobil!!

20,000 or 1 year is not a gimmick. Use the matching filter or the Fram 20,000 mile equivalent. First oil change lasted about 10,000. Now we get 20,000 or a year each change. The used oil was still fine. We drive Fords- V6 (3.2L conventional and I-4 1.5L ecoboost. excellent oil. Now if Walmart associates could just set it on the mod right and keep the shelves stocked...

Excellent protection against LSPI. I had purchased a new vehicle in 2009 with a gasoline powered turbo direct injected engine and trusted my new car to another oil brand priding themselves as “the first in synthetics”. After about 90k miles I had to rebuild the cylinder head twice from burned exhaust valves from the newly discovered phenomenon of LSPI. Later discovered that Mobil 1 already met the requirements of SN Plus/SP rated oils where my previous oil did not. Should have just used Mobil 1 from the beginning as I did in all my other vehicles.
Mobil 1 Extended Performance has been my go to oil in my Camaro every year for the last 17 years. Although I don’t drive it very often, it protects from viscosity breakdown for 25000 Km’s or 1 year )whichever comes first). I usually winterize and store my ride in November which I’m preparing for, and once spring starts, I’m good to go, and so is the oil. Mind you, I wouldn’t drive a vehicle up to 25000 Km’s on the same oil. Also, it was on sale which was an added factor and convenient for timing. It definitely keeps the engine clean and it provides better than average protection from wear and tear. I have great confidence in using Mobil 1 Extended Performance Synthetic Oil and nothing but.
I've been using Mobil 1 for about 30 years in an assortment of vehicles. I'm currently using Mobil 1 extended service 5W20 in a 2014 Ford Taurus with excellent results.I've just in the past few months purchased a 2018 Buick Enclave with direct injection. One thing that is helpful in terms of preventive maintenance is to use an oil with low Noack Volatility numbers. Unfortunately, this information is near impossible to get from most manufacturers. However, there are two manufacturers of Grade V engine oil that I know of that publish the Noack Volatility numbers on their website. Both show Noack numbers under seven which is great.
I have been using Mobil 1 in my vehicles for several years. It has proven to help keep my vehicles running smoothly. I switched to the extended performance when I had to replace my vehicles a few years ago. The newer vehicles are able to go more miles in between oil changes. I am comfortable going at least 7500 miles in between oil changes using the extended performance, whereas I would not exceed 5000 miles with the regular Mobil 1.
I have a 2016 Ford Taurus with the 3.5L V6. I have been using Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W 20 and Mobil 1 oil filters. I have always followed the manufactures oil change intervals and this is my first vehicle that uses a computer instead of mileage to tell me when that time has come. My car told me to 'Change the oil soon', as I was down to 3% oil life remaining. I had 9,749 miles on the oil. I normally wouldn't put that many miles on engine oil, but I was planning on sending a sample into Blackstone-Labs for an oil analysis report to see how well the oil held up and if I should trust the cars computer. Blackstone-Labs had nothing but good things to say about my engine, the oil, and oil and air filter. Blackstone-Labs had nothing but good things to say about my engine, the oil, and oil and air filter. All my wear averages were below normal (6,700 miles) and they recommended that I go 12,000 miles on this oil change and send in a another sample. Blackstone used a base line average of all different types of oil to compare my sample to and the Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W 20 surpassed their baseline oil samples. The next sample will let me know if I can go even further on before an oil change. Blackstone said " You managed to get excellent results even after longer than average oil run." I have been using Mobil 1 for several years and have never had an engine failure. I run it in my 2005 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with 190,000 miles on it and is still runs perfect.
Using good oil is the best way to keep an engine lasting for many miles. Except for trucks and certain jeeps and a few high-end cars, most car manufacturers have chosen to cheapen their their vehicles by switching to front wheel drive. This makes the vehicle front-end heavy and almost impossible to work on by many doityourselfers since the engine compartment is so crampt that it is a struggle to even fit a tiny screwdriver in there! This is why I need to keep my SUV Jeep running forever, and why I use only the best oil.
Was running Royal Purple 5w-20 before this oil change on my 2nd Gen Honda Fit, last oil change being 12k miles before this, threw about 4.5 quarts into it with a nice K&N filter of this magic elixer, and my motor loves it so far; the times I've put my "pedal to the metal", it hasn't disappointed me. Don't think I'd trust any other brand outside of these two with my Formula F(it) engine. For someone who drives a lot, this would definitely be my go to oil, but if your car barely racks a few hundred miles a month, I trust royal purple and it's formula more, otherwise you can't really go wrong with picking this oil to keep your car's engine running smoothly. #FitIsGo
