Filter coffee machines get a bad rep, especially in South Africa, as the majority of machines are rubbish. Definitely lives up to its name - form and function! Brews a fantastic cup of coffee and is quite simple to use - just 'on/off' and 'half/full' pot choices. The parts seem easy enough to take apart to clean, without being overly complicated to put back together. All in all, a great looking coffee machine that brews a hot cup of good coffee.

Not very happy when i order a matt black moccamaster and find the stainless version in the box. But after a call to amazon they sent me a replacement machine and in less than 24 hours i recived the new one and this time in matt black. Besides the trouble with the first machine, wrong colour, sending it back and so on, Im very happy with my new moccamaster. It works as expected, looks good and makes great coffe👍🏼
We bought the Moccamaster Select in Matt Black in December and have been enjoying it daily. I usually start my day with a long black made with my Cafelat Robot and then make a pot with the Moccamaster to take to work in a thermos. Throughout the week we have lots of family and friends visit and can't make an espresso for everyone. The Moccmaster makes a strong smooth delicious coffee quickly.We looked long and hard at what coffee maker to buy and then when we decided on a Moccamaster we decided upon the Select mode. We often make less than a pot and it works a treat. We like the look and that it is handmade in Europe.Alternative Brewing shipped quickly and efficiently with no problems. I highly recommend both AB and the Moccamaster Select.
Absolutely love our technivorm. It makes fantastic coffee, simple to use and quick. This hits all the marks for us. Everyday I am excited to wake up and make our morning coffee.
I ordered this product from Marmuro Europe. When I received the product I was surprised to find that it had a European plug instead of a UK plug. As I ordered it on Amazon UK, I assumed it was a UK Plug. There were no pictures or mentions of plugs on the product information page. As the voltage was appropriate, I assumed it would be a UK plug. I purchased the product from Marmuro Europe, because they had what I was looking for. Not the cheapest, but the color and model I was looking for. After discovering there was an incorrect plug, I tried to return the product. I got the address to send the product to, and carefully put that address on the box to return it. This one ticks all the boxes. Simple to operate, quick to clean, and most of all, the coffee tastes great. My three cups to start the day is now an easy process.The 5-year guarantee and replacement breakables like the glass jug, which seems readily available from Yuppiechef, promises durability. Furthermore I love the vintage look and the fact that it is handmade in Europe.
A warning to others- Alternative Brewing uses Aramex as its delivery courier. If I had known that, I would NEVER have ordered my coffee machine from Alternative Brewing- I would have definitely ordered elsewhere. I’ve always had disastrous experiences with Aramex deliveries (it’s never straight forward and they never get it right). So, I can’t leave a review on the product I ordered, because some 3 weeks later, I still don’t have it! Aramex are saying they will “try” for next Thursday now, but no guarantee. Plus, you can’t speak to anyone at Aramex OR Alternative Brewing to try and figure out a solution- it’s all online bots, forms and pages of FAQ to sift through. Please save yourself the stress and order elsewhere. Never again.
Coffee is great and consistent. The machine looks beautiful on our counter. The simplicity of the machine is wonderful.... Two switches, easy to use, clean. We will certainly be using for many years to come.
