Mogami Gold TRS to Female XLR Cable - 10 Foot

Mogami has been revered by audio professionals for almost 50 years. It is undeniably the standard in music recording and post production facilities worldwide. There is a reason that virtually every album, you have ever listened to, has Mogami in the audio chain. It is simply the finest, most neutral sounding cable available and is used in virtually every major recording studio in the world. Mogami Gold quad conductor cable is also perfect for home and commercial studios suffering from wiring and grounding problems, or where intense RFI interference can be a problem. Double conductor quad cable used in Gold Studio cables are far more effective in canceling noise that can get past even the best of shields. The Neglex 2534 quad cable provides an improvement in signal to noise of 10-15db over equivalent twisted pair cables - essential for quality recording in todays RFI rich environment.

AMAZING CABLE!!!!!!

I was recording my acoustic guitar with a monster cable at first (the Performance 500 series), and my guitar sounded so bad and muddy. NOT how it sounded unplugged. At first I really thought it was my guitar, but I wanted to make sure. So i returned the monster cable and got this Mogami. All I can say is WOW MY GUITAR SOUNDS SO GOOD. Mogami is no my choice of cable. Don't bother with cheap cables, because it really does make a difference. You would think a mid price range cable will do the job, it won't.

It's tempting to buy cheap cables when you are 20 years old, only to buy new ones every year, especially if you are actively playing out live. I had a mic cable go out live when I was the only one singing! After that I decided to go with higher quality cables all around. For guitar cables especially and mic cables I think going with higher quality like Mogami is the way to go. Buy once not 3 times.

Do yourself a favor: go with Mogami from day one.

I've tried saving money in the past by buying cheaper cables. DON'T.Since it's lifetime, you only have to pay for them once. Forever. There are other lifetime cables, but do you want to spend a lifetime with Livewires when for a few bucks more, you could be using much better sounding (and more reliable) Mogami for the rest of your musical life?I would recommend these to a friend, and even if you weren't my friend, I'd recommend them anyway so you don't have to borrow mine when yours fail at the gig.

Essential gear for recording / live work

I'm connecting a line level signal coming out of a Radial JDI box to a Universal Audio Apollo Twin (Mk 1). At first I tried connecting these two units via XLR to XLR (i.e. a standard mic cable) but the Apollo Twin has one of those combo XLR/TRS input jacks and if you insert an XLR cable into it, the Apollo Twin defaults to MIC level. So in order to switch the Apollo Twin to LINE level input, you need to insert a TRS cable, hence my purchase.I know there is a lot of arguments online whether premium cables make a difference to sound/tone and I fall under the category of the skeptics. These Mogami Gold Studios are superbly built and I am confident it'll last me a very long time.A lot of arguments over whether premium cables make any difference whatsoever, but I didnt buy it on the strength of sound quality. I bought this cable

Excellent cable
11 August 2011

Highly recommended.Very high-quality braided shielding, gold connectors. Top notch construction. These sound great, and they're extremely well made. I rely on them all the time.Good-quality TRS are always expensive, and the Mogami Gold is no exception. However, these are superb quality. I have several variants of this cable, because my recording interface has TRS ins and outs. I have never had one fail on me.

Microphonic cable
11 February 2013

I got this cable because I needed something to run a mic into the TRS mic input in my Kustom Sienna 30 acoustic amp. I admit I haven't played with it a lot yet, but when I turned up the level, the cable became extremely microphonic - that is it made noise every time I moved it. Even just brushing my finger against it. None of my cheap cables do this. It's not a huge deal because I'm just using the cable in a studio setting, but I was surprised that this happened given all the positive reviews I had read about Mogami cables. Overall, the cable sounds good and provides good clarity when you're not moving it, but personally I think it was a waste of money and if I hadn't thrown away all the packaging I would be returning it.

Mogami Gold: Excellently Clear Sound!
14 March 2014

This cable is high priced but top notch. It's great for connecting microphones and just overall connecting of your gear to other gear, to the audio interface, outboard mixers, speakers, or whatever.Using this high grade type of cable, makes the signal clear. You will hear the difference. I'm pleased with this purchase. For excellent sound quality use Mogami gold!

Not sure if it's Psychological or not
16 December 2017

Well, just great products. I do have a mogami guitar cable that was a little weak in the plug department. Plugging it in and out of guitar jacks, the little knob on the tip is bent and I had to bend it straight. Other than that I've always been happy with their products. I've spent a ton of money on microphones, preamps and software for my voice over business, so, I just couldn't bring myself to buying a cheap cable. I'm not sure if I hear the difference or not, but it's kind of like washing your car and it seems to run better. Psychological based!

You get what you pay for!

When it comes to simple things like cables, most people figure "you've seen one, you've seen 'em all." Not the case, as is evident when you compare Mogami Gold cables to so much of what else is available on the commercial market. Cables, while sometimes the least expensive part of your guitar/base/keyboard/PA rig, is also the most critical because poor cables can be the difference between making your Custom Shop Strat guitar sound like a cheap knock-off!I've been using Mogami cables for years, and aside from the fact that they are made extremely well and sound great, they are also backed with an unconditional lifetime warranty. So make thae investment once and you'll never ever have to again.
