This book is perfect for architects/architect or design studentsyes the paper is thin it is meant for pencil and light pen sketches and looks beautiful when done so. Dot grid is ideal to create straight vertical and horizontal lines.little pocket at back is also great. Pencil, thin copic pens and grey pens are ideal for this.

I use Moleskine journals exclusively//daily and am so happy that Blick always has them in stock. The weight of the paper is perfect for writing, collaging, and doodling making these perfect for multimedia artists or just journaling. I wish Blick offered a wider selection of colors, but this is great!! #sweepstakes

Really enjoying using this notebook. I used the slim notebooks for years but found them too small. These still lay reasonably flat and have the same paper. Do recommend!

The price is average but the quality is great, it is nicely assembled and glued. The journals lasts for a long time. The paper for the sketchbook is smooth yet soft at the same time, which means that graphite really penetrates into the paper. Inks and fountain pens also work nice on the paper, the ink does not go through unless you add a lot with a brush(in that case buy the watercolor version). The tone is warm white, leaning towards a khaki color which means that if you take it outside it will not hurt or tire your eyes under direct sunlight. Conte and charcoal work really nice but add fixative unless you want your conte or charcoal drawings to smear. Soft Pastel is not recommendable. The price is average, and I did wish Moleskine made one that is 100% cotton. ... MoreThe price is average but the quality is great, it is nicely assembled and glued. Soft Pastel is not recommendable. The price is average, and I did wish Moleskine made one that is 100% cotton. This ones are 25% cotton and the rest is wood pulp acid free paper, which means it will not yellow over time but cotton is better as it can last longer. Perhaps the cotton version would be called Art Journal.
Ghosting happens! I enjoy the quality of the book but disappointed that there is some ghosting. Wouldn’t recommend for bullet journaling or for art purposes, unless you tape pages together (you can see it on the “march” page). If you’re ok with doubling up on pages, then it makes for a great journal!
while it is as a others have said a little steeply priced, it has dots, an elastic to hold it shut, a book mark ribbon and even a rear pocket which I haven't yet looked at.(plus to some I suppose, didn't need that) suits what I was looking for.black, leather looking-ish. rounded edges for easier pocket insertion too. could have paid $100 for a leather bound fancy paper one and not $20 which is in my ballpark so I am happy with it, if just for that reason alone.can't gather why people want museum quality parchment for calligraphy when it's a journal. ain't like most people are translating sea scrolls. and $20 ? just stop whining, it's worth $20. that one you bought for $20 twenty years ago is about $50 after inflation. I wish gas was .49 a gallon again too, but ... Morewhile it is as a others have said a little steeply priced, it has dots, an elastic to hold it shut, a book mark ribbon and even a rear pocket which I haven't yet looked at.(plus to some I suppose, didn't need that) suits what I was looking for.black, leather looking-ish. rounded edges for easier pocket insertion too. could have paid $100 for a leather bound fancy paper one and not $20 which is in my ballpark so I am happy with it, if just for that reason alone.can't gather why people want museum quality parchment for calligraphy when it's a journal. ain't like most people are translating sea scrolls. and $20 ? just stop whining, it's worth $20. that one you bought for $20 twenty years ago is about $50 after inflation. Generally I love Moleskine sketchbooks - I own several - however the paper in this one is SO thin that I can't use it for what I had hoped (sketching & drawing). It is near see-through and wrinkles at the touch. I thought I read the descriptions carefully, but the weight of the paper did not stand out to me as different than what I had purchased here before. Even so, I can't imagine any artist purposely wanting to sketch on this paper. The review is for the sketchbook only, not the site. Dick Blick is wonderful and I'll continue buying my art supplies here, but I would not buy this particular moleskine again.
I had researched the best notebooks to use for journaling and this was highly recommended. I use a fountain pen for my writing and most notebooks have a paper that the ink dries slowly, gets easily smudged, and even bleeds through. The Moleskin notebook has excellent paper that handles pencil, ballpoint ink, gel ink, and fountain pen ink exceptionally well. Well made and should last for a lifetime!
I use this notebook for sketching and drawing, and so far it's been workin' pretty well! The notebook as a whole is super snazzy and looks really nice, and the quality of the notebook is top notch👌🏻! Even if I use sharpies and alcohol based markers it doesn't bleed through onto the next page. The only downside I've noticed so far is how markers sometimes react to the paper. When using too much ink of a mid toned marker, the ink starts to make a dotted pattern, and I can't figure out why. It's not that huge of a problem though, since it's not all that noticeable unless you really focus on the dots.
I just bought this journal yesterday to start a bullet journal and I am very disappointed. I got this because it was recommended among bullet journalers and I thought it would be great for a beginner bullet journal like myself. I am unimpressed because the first page I used a staples fine liner pen in black and a blue tombow brush pen and the fineliner bled through completely. The whole page had a lot of ghosting and I was unable to write on the next page because of it. I then used a basic rollerball pen in black and lightly wrote on the next page and even then there was visible ghosting. It also looks as through I pushed hard on the rollerball pen yet I only wrote lightly. Overall I regret buying this journal but i’m trying to make the most of it as it was $20 and ... MoreI just bought this journal yesterday to start a bullet journal and I am very disappointed.
