This monitor is game changing. You'll love it. Here's my only quibble, and it's minor (but still drove me crazy). The documentation ought to state very clearly: "Note, if you want to access the full 5120x2160 resolution over Thunderbolt, you must change the DisplayPort setting to version 1.4. You might not think this would have any effect because, well, DisplayPort and Thunderbolt are different things, but you'd be wrong."

The 5K slightly curved screen is great for the eyes, and I no longer need two expensive 5K screens. This one screen is all you need, with the bonus of no annoying gaps. As a UX and graphic designer, I can have my entire work flow open on one screen, including chats, emails, wireframes, programs and tool panels. So far the only con I can see, is with such a big screen set at 5K, I believe the text size may be too small for some people. However, you can adjust the resolution to be bigger (ie 4K), but the quality will downgrade a touch as you make the resolution lower. The screen itself powers your MacBook, so you don't need the charge cord which I find to be a huge bonus since the MacBooks only have 2 Thunderbolt ports, and the monitor also has its own incredible speaker system in it. For those who buy a separate speaker for good sound during calls or for basic music, you won't need to as this is superb. If you're a bass lover, you'd still want to get yourself a bar or sub, however I find the sound quality is phenomenal for a monitor. Multiple thunderbolt hubs means you can daisy chain more thunderbolt screens if you need more space. I'd recommend this for designers, video editors, 3d modelling, etc. My Mac Studio is arriving soon, and will just plug it in to that. The price was also a huge factor – I was looking at upwards of $2000+ per 27"/30" 5K screen (I only need two), but instead I was able to pay far less for just one stunning 5K screen. You won't regret it. One of my favourite features is the stand/base that comes with this monitor. It's a slimline curved piece, silver and subtle. Some monitors come with huge, clunky bases, leaving no room on your desk, but the scythe-like curve of this one leaves plenty of room for things you may still require to sit on your desk. Lastly, I am currently sitting only half a metre from the screen, and my desk is 1202W x 602D – meaning you don't need a massive desk just for this one screen.

Fantastic Display!!

This display is in my opinion the best option on the market right now for a lot of different types of users, but especially for mac owners. The display is large, bright, clear and works flawlessly. I really like the design with the white back, a detachable power cord! (NOT a horrible power brick) beautiful and functional stand but it's also out of the box VESA mountable! This display gets an A+ in a lot of areas for me. I really like the controls which are very easy to engage with and understand using the joystick that is in the middle of the display at the bottom. This is an attention to detail that shows just how much thought was put into the design of this display. Ports galore! Thunderbolt 4 for the display, and if your device supports it there's a 2nd Thunderbolt port that will allow you to daisy chain a second display, DisplayPort, 2 HDMI ports. There are 2 USB Ports that are on the right side of the display (another attention to detail that I appreciate). The refresh rate is 72Hz (a bit better than the 60Hz on most monitors), Color is spot on. I work from home and this is my everything display! Plenty of room for spreadsheets, 300nits of brightness for photo editing and a wide screen movie fits the screen beautifully with the 21:9 aspect ratio. I think the price point is really a good bargain for everything that you get in this display.

Gigantic Monitor

This beauty is amazing. I didn’t realize how large the screen actually was until I hooked everything up and started working with spreadsheets. I’m very surprised with the performance of this monitor. From gaming, to spreadsheets, to internet searches, or simply streaming movies, I was blown away and amazed. The picture is nice and crisp. The bright vivid colors are pleasing to my eyes and I definitely don’t have any eye strain using this beast. Once I received the monitor I put it together in a matter of minutes. Great monitor so far

I was looking at 34 Ultra Wide displays to go with my new MacBook Air, largely on recommendation of a relative who uses one. After reviewing way too many YouTube videos, I settled on this monitor--I wanted maximal screen real estate. I was coming from a retina display on my old 17 PC, which was fabulous, if a smidgen small. So you can imagine adapting to a 38 took a while. HINT: You will want a window manager (I use Amethyst)--it's really hard to make efficient use of the screen real estate otherwise. It also took me about a week getting used to a non-retina display, but I no longer notice. I am glad in many ways since audio plug-ins on the PC were a mess on retina displays... now I'm no longer dealing with that issue. I'm using the 100mm VESA mount for use on my monitor arm--works no problems. I haven't put the built-in Thunderbolt 3 hub through its paces, mainly because I already had a T3 hub (into which this monitor is plugged). Nor do I use the monitor speakers. The display is plenty bright for my office (which is airy buy not overly sunny). Summary: Coding, note taking while browsing, and using software with a timeline is a dream on this thing (audio editing, video editing, sheet music).

Mediocre product from a mediocre company

I bought this close to release thinking that Apple and LG were working together and ensuring their products were compatible. They're not. So many dramas at hardware and software level with my Mac Book Pro, so this now sits in a corner and collects dust. ONScreen Control might be the worst software ever developed for a computer. It is notoriously unstable, user-unfriendly and has a mind of it's own. And the screw splitting software is only useful for two Windows computers...not a Mac and a PC. And the upstream USB-C port intermittently cuts out, rendering your power supply and peripherals useless. The joystick controls are located on the rear (yes the REAR of a 49 inch screen) and there's no remote. The HDR feature is contrived or manipulated in some way, and Ive not had a single day where I could say I got good picture quality. One bloke says he's battled with support not calling him back, so LG's response is to provide the same phone numbers so he can waste more time calling again. That is the very same experience I've had. Avoid spending your hard earned dollars on this folks. LG don't deserve you.

My First Widescreen Monitor!

This is not only my first LG monitor but also the largest monitor I have owned as well as my first, widescreen. I absolutely cannot believe that I can do what was taking me two separate monitors on just this one monitor. This was the main point, or desire, in my wanting to own a widescreen monitor was to be able to condense and not have to use multiple monitors. So this also means using less electricity as well. I did not know until after the fact that it has built-in speakers. The sound quality is excellent and does not distort at higher volumes. I was using a wireless Bluetooth speaker but I have switched over to using LG's internal speaker on this monitor which also uses this technology called Waves MaxxAudio. There are many settings options such as Custom, Cinema, Vivid, HDR Effect, FPS, RTS, and a reader mode (that has that sort of tablet sepia color to it). I will generally use the Custom feature. I like the Super Resolution+ and Black Level settings as it makes the text stand out better. Under Settings, Picture, Color Adjust, there is a Gamma feature with four separate modes. Choosing Mode 3 enhances text clarity even further and is what I am currently using. Other features include the ability to tilt the monitor forward and back. It does not have an option to raise the height of the monitor and if I had to list any cons that are literally the only one I can think of. On the rear of the monitor where the ports are there is a USB-C port which could be used to charge any devices that use a USB-C charge cable. This is definitely a monitor I would recommend for anyone to use and I mean that especially if you are working from home or for any businesses seeking to upgrade their current monitors for their employees. This is such a major space saver being able to use this one monitor and it looks so much cleaner as well.

So this is review is for my experiences only. First and foremost, I guess this applies to all ultra wide monitors, but I was unprepared for just how "squat" The resultant display is for productivity minded tasks such as word documents, excel spreadsheets, etc... So I guess I should have just gone and used one in the store before I jumped into buying one. However, there are a couple of notable deal breakers for me on this particular model as well, the support structure underneath the ultra wide monitor is way too flimsy for such a large panel. So I'd only recommend this monitor if you are using a very, very sturdy desk underneath it. My wife types very daintily so it's not an issue for her. Lastly, most of the computers and tablets that I've plugged in to this monitor have been able to run the full display without any issue... But I did notice that the fan on most laptops run a lot more continuously due to the increased horsepower utilized for the graphics. This is not the same experience I have had with other dual monitor setups before so I don't know what the difference is, but there is something unique about this ultra wide display that requires more cooling from the internal fan. Long-term, I don't know how I feel about that for laptops running hot. I guarantee this is not a problem with most desktops though.

I work from home and have a multi monitor setup. I have older monitors and have been wanting to upgrade for some time. I decided to go with the LG 34WP75C-B because I wanted a large wide-screen for working with multiple applications and gaming as well. The resolution and clarity of the monitor is amazing especially compared to my older screens beside it. Setup was easy and only took a few minutes. The monitor also has multiple ports and supports DisplayPort as well as HDMI and USB-C. Switching between inputs is really easy and quick and makes being able to use this monitor on my personal machine easy and still allows me to use the USB-C for my work laptop. Vast real estate

Wow, this is an awesome upgrade. We have it in the kitchen where my wife works from home a few days a week. She's using it to extend her desktop on the work laptop she uses. We replaced a regular 1080p monitor with this one and it's as different as night and day. Not only is this monitor lighter but it has a lot of modern inputs on the back. To me this is light as a feather. She can now have more open windows visible at the same time but those windows are larger. A lot less eye strain trying to real tiny figures jammed into a smaller screen and she doesn't have to keep alternating expanding different windows to see/move figures between them. Not only is it heavy enough to keep the monitor from tipping over if accidentally jostled, but it is wide enough that it doesn't interfere with the desk space directly in front & underneath the monitor. I did bowwow it one weekend to try it out and found that the colors looked great and there was no problem watching an HD video while also having another window open to browse the web or check my emails. Very much worth it to take advantage of a modern sized monitor.
