Most expensive monitor I've ever bought, first curved monitor I've ever bought, first monitor above 30 inches I've ever bought. I'd give this a perfect score EXCEPT for the one "feature" that completely ruins this for me. The fact that when my computer goes to sleep, it completely disconnects this monitor. When I wake my computer up, all the programs and windows that I had on this monitor are instead shunted off to the side to another monitor I have hooked up (of a different resolution), so now I need to resize them all when I put them back on this 4k screen. It's a flaw that they had on other monitor, but they fixed it by releasing a firmware patch that doesn't do that "Display Port Deep Sleep" thing when it goes to sleep. Everything else about it is great...but that deep sleep completely overshadows everything else. I've had to resort to downloading 3rd party programs to try to be a band-aid for this problem, but they're obviously not a perfect fix and there's still some extreme annoyances.

I hooked this up upon receiving it and almost dead center is a cluster of dead pixels. It appears to be about four of them. Sitting a foot back it's hard to tell and it looks like only one, but once you zoom in with a phone camera is easier to seer the cluster in the grid. Absolutely unacceptable with a monitor in this price range. Also, it has been somewhat of a nightmare getting the displayport video to post again when the computer goes idle and the screen transistions into standby mode. This can be fixed probably through a proper firmware update. I have a secondary 2K res monitor as my secondary, and coming out of sleep has even caused the image to flicker like crazy at times until the monitor is fully powered down. Cant recommend this monitor to anyone, as Ive heard multiple stories of these just purely being dead on arrival.

So it has been a journey with the G70B. My first one had a cluster of dead pixels that was replacing a G7 27" 240hz with dead pixels, except this one was worse because it was dead center in the screen. After a very tedious support process, 3-4 additional phone calls, and 5 hours worth of time on hold and talking to support folks we finally got the replacement sent out. The replacement panel has been excellent in terms of no dead pixels. I'm very happy about that, but some glaring challenges with the support call structure need to be improved drastically.1. Every single time I would call in a support agent was not properly trained on getting me to the specific department that I needed routed to. Every single time I would call in a support agent was not properly trained on getting me to the specific department that I needed routed to. I've worked support jobs, and really feel for the employees. It's a huge training/accountability at the management level problem.2. When I call in and have a specific department to reference (recommended by the actual helpful agents at stage 2 of this ordeal), please give your employees the proper transfer codes. I needed to talk to someone in returns and exchanges, and was routed so many times right back to the tier 1 frontline folks, every.single.time.3. In the rare but totally possible event that a customer has a brand new unit that is defective like the new unit it was replacing build a pain-free process to handle it. I had to upload videos showing the problem, pictures zooming in on the dead pixel cluster, which is fine but this process should be built into a support form so that it goes directly to the returns & exchange department with automatic tier 2 escalation. Now with that out of the way, the only super annoying issue that I have now is that when you have dual monitors running on your PC, using a Nvidia graphics card, the monitor will not come out of deep sleep properly. It was not happening on any AMD graphics card I tested wit, so I had to wonder why.The AMD 7900XTX was pulling more idle wattage because they handle multi-monitor differently, but it worked as -intended., The firmware to resume from sleep on this monitor works great with FreeSync. With Nvidia cards, the monitor struggles to toggle the input again because it's too busy trying to apply g-sync and game mode FIRST because posting video. This forces me to always hit the power button, wait 2-3 seconds, then move my mouse or hit a key on the keyboard to properly post video. When you just move the mouse or hit the keyboard, the second monitor always beats it to toggle signal input and so that takes priority, leaving this monitor to show the blue screen with a sleep countdown timer, and then it never posts again unless you fully shut off the monitor, wait for the windows input chime sound, watch the second screen flicker, and then at that point you can power it back on to gain a proper video signal. In the unlikely event that any software engineer sees this post (I'd like the online moderator to pass this info along please and get it to someone who can work/test it) they need to get the firmware to tell the monitor to either already apply and stick to game mode first, or prioritize posting video and then posting game mode settings AFTER video is posted on the screen. If they can address this major nuisance this monitor will finally be everything In expected from it, and it would be a great experience.
I like the specs which are unmatched but have several cons/suggestions:- I have DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 sources connected to it and it won't wake up to another source when went to sleep on one of them. Power saving and Eco off. Have to manually wake up and select the source.- There is no way to enable auto game mode and have crosshair displayed without manually enabling it.- The wobbliest stand in the industry. Such a letdown for a premium product. I don't believe anyone actually tested it and approved, I wouldn't. If you can't engineer anything better, copy what Acer Predator has - that one is what the stand should be, even has a handy carrying loop.- Cable management is non-existent- I would rather prefer it to be flat. Just remove it and lower the price.Overall I'm satisfied and will definitely keep it, but hope Samsung will address the software issues with a new update. Please don't procrastinate!
I'm a big gamer, and I've been using the Samsung G70A monitor with my Xbox Series X for a few months now. I'm really impressed with it! The picture quality is amazing, and the gaming experience is smooth and immersive. I love that the monitor has a 144Hz refresh rate and variable refresh rate (VRR) support, which means I can play games at 4K resolution without any screen tearing. The response time is also really fast, so I can be sure that my inputs will be registered accurately. In addition to its impressive performance, the G70A also has a sleek and stylish design. It's thin and bezel-less, and the curved display makes me feel like I'm right in the game. The G70A also comes with a variety of features that make my gaming experience even better.Overall, I'm ... Here's the deal. This monitor is absolutely gorgeous, as far as picture quality goes. In fact, the color accuracy and shear clarity of this monitor is one of the best I've ever seen.However. There are two reasons I wound up returning the monitor. And while they're technically both personal preference. The latter should be something you consider in your decision. The first was simply screen size. Sitting as close as I do at my desk the extra vertical real estate and lack of curve to create the immersive peripheral feel lead me to moving my head to see things rather than keeping my eyes centered on the screen. This made being competitive in fps games a task. Definitely a situation due to my workspace. But something to keep in mind. The second thing is Samsung's ... MoreHere's the deal. This made being competitive in fps games a task. Definitely a situation due to my workspace. But something to keep in mind. The second thing is Samsung's push to make everything a smart device. Shoot, the initial setup for this monitor took nearly an hour because the app was being buggy on my phone. I'm sure having a built in OS on your monitor may be beneficial to some- but I see it as a huge flaw and another breaking point. I want a monitor to be simple. Waking the monitor is slow, changing settings is slow. The whole user interface is clunky and irritating. But the picture quality is fantastic. I will eventually but another one of these for creativity but for now, I prefer an ultrawide for gaming. Because my reasons for returning were personal preference, i wouldn't say I DON'T recommend it. Just make sure it's exactly what you want first.
On Windows, the monitor performs and works perfectly with no extra software needed. Currently using two with an Nvidia 3090ti using Maya 8k HDMI 2.1 cables.I have played a whole host of games in ultra quality, including Ghostwire Tokyo, Metro Redux with Raytracing, Overwatch 2, Apex, Assassins Creed Valhalla, Doom Eternal, and many others. This is the perfect monitor to get an amazing experience. Also watch 4k documentaries, and significant software development, both benefiting from a full, crisp 4k resolution with dark and rich contrast including black levels. One thing to note, this monitor doesn't look good in MacOS without creating a custom profile that is calibrated. So you are charging me right off the bat $350 for a repair that could be simple to fix. My brother has an Asus monitor for around the same price range that has superior colors and has lived longer then my own monitor. Paying so much for a monitor with multiple point of failures is ignorance and I fell for it. Please do your research on this monitor, it is not worth the headache or hassle you will go through, menu button unreliable trash, flickering, black screens and ports not working properly. I'll try to post a picture, but it didn't let me last time.

My monitor would randomly cut in and out and eventually just out of the blue diaplayports just stopped work. Even attempting to use the HDMI was terrible because it would never pick it up after turning on my pc, after time and time again attempting to troubleshoot the problem I gave up. It has been sitting for like a whole year gathering dust. When I did get help from a samsung expert everything they asked me to do failed. During this time frame my warranty just had expired (1 month from the date of expiration.) Samsung called me and said they could fix it for $300 to $350, I asked the rep what was wrong with it and they told me, we do not know we would have to check. So you are telling me I paid $700 for this monitor and you want me to send you it and pay you $300 for you to fix something that you don't know? So you are telling me if it is a simple fix I'll still get charged $300? Not worth the money at all, my brother has a Asus monitor in the same price range, actually less that has godly performance and quality. PLEASE BE ADVISE OF THIS WARNING, do your research, look it up, this monitor has MULTIPLE problems. It is absolutely not worth the price especially when they are ready to charge you $300 for a fix.
