I hated this game growing up, however, decided to re-buy and give it another chance as I am 36 with two kids now. I bought this game a few months ago, however, decided, upon seeing misleading commercials of people enjoying themselves while playing this game(???) decided it was time I shared my thoughts with the world. This game was not worth the seventeen dollars I paid for it and the quality certainly was NOT worth my son's well-being or my marriage. My husband ended up enjoying this game and forced my kids to play it. My son has a congenital disorder that delays his learning and never was able to truly grasp the concept of the game. When no one was watching, he ended up eating all the metal characters in the game, when we found out, we rushed him to the ER and ... MoreI hated this game growing up, however, decided to re-buy and give it another chance as I am 36 with two kids now. This incident has caused me to resent my husband for wanting to play the game and we are filing for divorce in may due to both his negligence and Haribo's. SHAME on you all.

If there's one way to happily pass the time while locked down with the kids at home, it's playing Monopoly. There's nothing like wheeling and dealing in property at a time when the whole world is in the grips of a public health and economic crisis! I bought the game from Myer as a house-warming gift for my 8-year-old great niece and her parents, to help keep them from crawling up the walls of their new rental home. I was stunned when I saw the price was only $29.99. For some reason, I'd assumed such a classic board game would cost more than that. This set features three new tokens: a dinosaur, a rubber ducky and a penguin. Wish they'd been included when I first began playing the game when I was eight ... did they even have rubber ducky's back then? I wonder ...

Zero stars. This was the cheapest, most bare-bones, disappointingly awful Monopoly game imagineable. Maybe if you were a POW somewhere, and wanted to play Monopoly, sure, this would be fine. I just wanted a normal, original version of the game. Shame on you Hasbro -- I'm not sure how or where you got the idea this was a saleable item, but this is an abomination and is literally going in the trash. I ordered an older version on ebay for $40.

Bought this with high hopes. The pieces are made of poor quality, the cards are heavy paper, not cardboard like they used to be. Plastic pieces are heavy film, not quality plastic like they used to be. The game board is flimsy, smaller and tri-fold rather than solid and bi-fold. All in all, the new Monopoly game is a cheap imitation of yesteryear's classic. Very disappointed.
Bought this at a great price to play with my 8 year old grandson. I wanted to share the joy of playing on a classic board as I did during my own childhood. This was a few weeks ago & we’ve been playing it ever since! We’re creating memories, developing my grandson’s maths & problem solving skills & having lots of fun.
I am a vintage monopoly collector so I had to purchase one game for my collection because it has new contents. Compared to the vintage monopoly games I purchase (1954 and earlier) it has no redeeming features and is just like the non-classic monopoly games. Vintage games are incredible with many changing features. I also hate plastic and the tokens are cheap.
A classic game that’s fun to play with both family and friends, that requires some strategy, creative bargaining, and a little luck! While this game has provided many hours of fun in our home, it has also provided some great learning opportunities for the kids. It requires them to count the spaces they move, add the dice, take turns, count out rent and also teaches them about money. The game board itself is very thick and sturdy, while the tokens are metal and durable (and we all love the new dinosaur token!) The instructions included are clear and understandable, and we have laminated our chance and community chest cards for longevity. Overall a quality product and great value for money. Our experience with this product has been excellent! Play:Classic boardgame, really long games. Brings back memories and easy to play with kids and adults. Family friendly.Quality:The cards are made using low quality construction paper and the board itself is flimsy and thin. It looks like it won't last more than a couple play through. The property cards are really small, as small as the chance and treasure cards.Compared to the old version (when the iron was still a player piece) the quality feels like something you can go to a printer and print. If this is a legit Monopoly from Hasbro, this is a real disappointment. I bought it since I wanted my own copy of Monopoly since my sister would be keeping the original.I would understand if someone told me it was a couterfeit. Honestly the worth of this boardgame ... MorePlay:Classic boardgame, really long games. Brings back memories and easy to play with kids and adults.
