I bought my first set of luggage from Monos during the peak of the pandemic, optimistic that one day travel would resume. I'm very happy I did that. 2 years later and I've successfully convinced 6 different family members to give Monos a try, and no one's been disappointed!I bought the Carry-On Pro Plus (with the pocket) for myself, and the Carry-On Plus for my husband for a 10-day trip to Italy. Even though our travel was going to require us to take 6 flights total during the trip, plus a train ride, we decided to travel with only carry-ons. The Monos luggage performed so well during our trip, and we didn't have any issues fitting the bags in the overhead bins for our international or domestic flights. At no point did we have to gate-check the bags. As a notorious over-packer, and after seeing both in action during our trip, I would say that the room that the pocket takes away from the inside of the bag on the Carry-On Pro Plus, isn't worth the feature. Since I had a personal bag, I didn't really use the front pocket for anything other than a temporary holding place for my chargers, AirPods, and Kindel. I would rather gain that space back inside the bag, than have the pocket.I travel a ton for work and need luggage that will hold up in the process, and MONOS has done that for me. At this point, I now have the Carry-On Pro Plus, Carry-On, and the Medium checked bag (highly recommend the suitcase protector!) and will now be purchasing my own Carry-On Plus so I don't have to steal my husbands!

My wife, children and I travel often, several trips a year. Everything from back packing Europe, wet environments in Ireland and the most recent trip to Italy that made us think there has got to be something better out there. Halfway through our trip a wheel broke on my regular upright rolling consumer suite case ( I prefer rolling dufflebags). The wheel broke and I drug it around for another week completely eating the wheel in half. In preparation for our last trip to Florida we researched several top rated luggage companies and we narrowed it down to Monos and the Away cases. We were already leaning towards Monos and while waiting at a checked bag carousel a guy standing there had both. We were already leaning towards Monos and while waiting at a checked bag carousel a guy standing there had both. We asked if he had a preference between the two he said "hands down the Monos case is better in every way". So we ordered 2 Monos Carry on plus suitcases.Just to see what I could get away with I packed 10 outfits consisting of shorts, t shirt, socks and underware. 3 polo shirts, 1 button up dress shirt , 1 pair of dress slacks, 2 pairs of swim trunks, a pair of pajama shorts, an extra belt, a pair of Sanuk sandal shoes, and a toiletry bag. I looked like I was flying back to Europe for 2 weeks.... I was going to Florida for 3 days haha. The case rolled great I can't believe how smooth the wheels are, quiet even when over loaded and the case balances well so it's effortless to roll it around. The handle felt great! Very sturdy and didnt give you a cheap flexing feeling. The zip up partition was great and held all of my non clothes items, and the cinch straps made it easy to fit everything else in there. The built in lock is great with easy use and no chance of loosing it. The carry handles with perfect. Very low profile and in the right places to carry it at the natural balance points. The outer case is tough. We didn't get any scuffs, however if we did the case came with a magic eraser to clean it off.And on the return trip I still had room to tuck in my son and I's new magic wands from Ollivanders wand shop, a t shirt and several stickers from Gideons bakery.I absolutely love these suite cases. I can't wait to go on our next adventure with them a beach trip to North Carolina, followed by 2 weeks in Hawaii. Then we really test the durability during a trip to Alaska and a 2 week Overlanding trip to Colorado.Thank you for building a case that can do it all.

I ditched rolling luggage over a decade ago in favor of a well made leather duffel bag since rolling luggage at the time was pretty terrible. Airlines seem to be doing more layovers nowadays and the duffel gets real heavy when you have to walk what feels like miles to your connecting gate, so I decided to revisit rolling luggage.I couldn’t stop telling my girlfriend how much I lived this bag on the entire trip I went on recently and I realized how much I subconsciously hated that duffel bag. First off, the styling on this is great. So many hard shell bags look so “extreme” but this is a very clean, minimal look without being boring. Pictures don’t do it justice honestly. Second is the wheels. This is such a pleasure to roll. They’re like butter. What would have completely stuffed my large duffel fits nicely in the Monos and zips with no problem. If I had to pick a complaint, I would say I wish the compression board was sturdier and the straps for it fit more securely, because they come off easily before being buckled and it can be a pain to re-attach them when the bag is full. But otherwise this is the perfect bag and I’m fully satisfied with it. 10/10 I’ve been recommending it to everyone I’ve talked to.And did I mention the incredible customer service! This is getting king so I won’t give much detail, but long story short I had an issue with the shipping provider and Monos got it corrected ASAP so I had my bag in time for my vacation!

Travel from Calgary to St Louis with the Carry-on Plus, Both planes were smaller United Airlines planes and the Carry-on Plus fit perfectly (it was very close on the second smaller plane, some other folks had to use the carry-on posits at the front of the plane, but my carry-on, plus fit perfectly in the overhead. No room to spare but perfect fit). I was travelling for business, and as such needed 3 executive woman’s outfits so I had two pairs of heels, one blazer, two dressy cardigans, three pairs of dress pants, one travel day comfy long sleeved top and a pair of jeans, one long t-shirt for pj’s, underwear and toiletries bags (one makeup and one shampoo and liquids bag). I still had room for maybe another t-shirt or two! This is a really great bag. Other reviews have spoken about the scuffing, but I have not experienced that yet I did get the Terrazzo pattern which I believe will do quite a good job of hiding some of the wear longer term, although I am one of those people who does not mind I well traveled bag to look well traveled. Ultimately, I chose a Monos bag over the others because I really believe in their story, and what they stand for, and the reviews were good. I can now confirm this is a really well designed thoughtful bag and I’m glad I took a leap and bought the large and medium check-ins as well! Happy traveller! Thank you Monos.
Pros:-Lightweight: Allows for a little extra weight with what you decide to bring with you or take back.-Zippered compartments and compression: I'm big on organization, especially while traveling, and the variously-sized zippered compartments allowed for better packing and planning on my part. The compression worked great for strapping down an oversized sweater I threw in the suitcase last minute.-Wheels: They glided beautifully over concrete, pavement, tiles, and carpet and made it relatively easy to maneuver onto public transit.-Laundry and shoe bags: Great items included in the purchase of the suitcase. I typically bring my own small bags for these purposes, but I like the uniformity of the Monos collection.-Handle: Sturdy-- no wobbling, locked and stayed in ... MorePros:-Lightweight: Allows for a little extra weight with what you decide to bring with you or take back.-Zippered compartments and compression: I'm big on organization, especially while traveling, and the variously-sized zippered compartments allowed for better packing and planning on my part. I typically bring my own small bags for these purposes, but I like the uniformity of the Monos collection.-Handle: Sturdy-- no wobbling, locked and stayed in place.Cons:-If you're a heavy packer, matching up the two sides of the suitcase when it's time to zip it up can prove slightly challenging, as both sides will contain a bit of weight in them and you'll need to match them up evenly to have an easy time securing the suitcase closed.-That aerospace-grade polycarbonate hard shell is not as hard as you'd think-- after collecting my luggage after the first flight, I noticed relatively deep gashes into the shell and handle. While I expected the scuffs and minor scratches from travel (visible in the photos), I did not expect such significant cosmetic damage on the top corners or handle after only one flight. Note that the warranty does not cover this kind of wear and tear. Most of my family has Away luggage that they've had for a year or more, and none of their suitcases have shown damage like this even after several flights. While I'm happy with the functionality of the suitcase thus far, I do wish it was made of tougher material. I'm curious (and bit apprehensive) to see how it fares on its first international trip.
Just returned from my first trip with my terracotta colored medium check-in and have to say it made my travels SO convenient.*The zipper is smooth and easy, I love the way they lock / unlock.*The wheels are SO SMOOTH i had to be careful not to let it run away from me (coming from an old suitcase with finicky wheels this was a beautiful problem to have). I had to fly, take a train and a car with this suitcase along with my carryon bag + backpack and it was incredibly easy.*Color: I'm a neutral kind of gal and strayed a little from my usual palette because the terracotta just looked so beautiful and rich, and I am NOT disappointed. It is exactly as shown on the website (literally the color of terracotta tiles) and still in the neutral family IMHO but stands out on ... MoreJust returned from my first trip with my terracotta colored medium check-in and have to say it made my travels SO convenient.*The zipper is smooth and easy, I love the way they lock / unlock.*The wheels are SO SMOOTH i had to be careful not to let it run away from me (coming from an old suitcase with finicky wheels this was a beautiful problem to have). It is exactly as shown on the website (literally the color of terracotta tiles) and still in the neutral family IMHO but stands out on the luggage carousel.*Exterior: The outer material is light yet feels very sturdy. There were a few scuffs from my trip, but 99% of them came out with the magic eraser provided. There is an extra tough black smudge that I'm sad about but i might just put a little more elbow grease into it to see if it will come out.*Interior: the perfect amount of pockets and allows for a lot of flexibility and as a habitual over-packer, I was pleased with the amount of clothes I could fit. The check-in large must be VERY large (and therefore hard to stay under the weight limits as I was in the high 40's (pounds) at max capacity, mostly clothes, light shoes and some toiletries).*Shipping: did standard, came in expected timing (less than 2 weeks) and in a nice box with a handle and cloth protective bag for storing.
My first impression when I first received the product was excellent. The unboxing experience was pleasant, and the materials used did not feel cheap. I have not placed a review until I could say I had used the luggage. I recently took an international trip, and the overall experience was good. The ease of packing was excellent, and the organization was intuitive. The ease of movement and transport was terrific, and although there are a few scuffs here and there, not as many as I would have thought for rough airport transport on a hard shell, so I was pleased. I felt everything was secure when packed. The lock was designed into the luggage allowing for the zipper pull tabs to be integrated into the locking mechanism. Lifting and moving the luggage had well-placed handles, although a grip on the bottom closer to the wheels would have been excellent. One of the two things I would note negatively is one of the straps inside the luggage has already torn at the stitching. This does not logically impair the overall usability of the baggage, so it is not a deal breaker. It is disconcerting as this is the first trip for the bag. I should note that the side was not overly packed, and it was well within what should have been within its structural design. But in all fairness, this only occurred in 1 of the four Monos bags, so that it may be a one-off thing. The other negative but nitpicky use I noted was the hardshell did not allow for easy opening and closing of the luggage when you are just trying to take a quick look or move an item for weight distribution. In fairness, this is common with many hard shell luggage I have used, and I cannot offer a solution to improve. The overall experience was good, and I would recommend it to a friend should they be looking for new luggage. With the breakdown of a design aspect on the first outing, I could not give this a 5-star rating.
I've been considering a high-end luggage set for a few years now, and I am so happy I went with Monos. I purchased the Metro Backpack, Carry-On, and Check-In Medium, and every piece is amazing. I ordered everything for a week-long trip to Spain. The Check-In Medium wound up being the perfect companion to the Carry-On, and I fit everything I needed with ease. The materials from which the bag is constructed do a wonderful job of protecting the items inside the bag - obviously the most important part of luggage. Plus, the handle and wheel combination make transporting this bag across any terrain super easy.Yes, the bag gets scuffed up and dirty when it goes through the check-in process, but that's inevitable with any suitcase. If you follow Monos' instructions for caring for the bag, though, you'll be able to keep this thing looking brand new. After my trip, I scrubbed down the bag with warm water and soap, and then I followed up with the "Magic Eraser" Monos provided when they shipped the bag. I was able to get almost everything out, so the bag will look almost like new the next time I travel. If your bag doesn't get dirty whilst traveling, you're leaving the house enough. I cannot recommend this brand enough!
The quality of Monos Luggage is evident when you first take it through the airport. Wheels roll so smoothly it literally glides across the floor and will keep its momentum, even when overloaded.Wish the Check-In bags had a removeable pull-leash instead of a adjustable telescopic handle, which would allow for even more internal space. The Check-in Medium can store any of the Carry-on, even the Pro Plus. Not sure if the Hybrid series fits.Have gone on three trips since getting the luggage and no problems. Scuff marks from baggage handling on our checked bags does not clean up as well as advertised with the included eraser, but does an acceptable job with light scuffs. The shell is amazingly resilient to damage and feels very light. My wife says it is easy to ... MoreThe quality of Monos Luggage is evident when you first take it through the airport. Once packed in the car, these bags can be quite difficult to move around because they are so smooth, so make sure to put the wheels in first and have the top or side handle exposed so you can grab it.
With travel becoming a possibility again it is time to get ready to fly!! I wanted to update our luggage so set about doing my research. I don’t remember how it happened but I stumbled upon Monos and from the moment I saw their product I was captivated. The look, the colours, the apparent quality that reviews claimed and the fact that the company is Canadian and has a strong sustainability policy all had me going back to Monos as my number one pick. I took the plunge and ordered two medium checked and two carry on. Pro, one set in Olive and one Ocean Blue. They arrived quite quickly and it felt like Christmas! Opening the packages, so carefully packed was the so rewarding, my research had led me to a beautiful luggage set. The colours are gorgeous and rich definitely make a statement. The medium checked is a perfect size for a 10 day vacay assuming your not taking parkas and winter boots lol. There is lots of room and the way it is organized, the thought that has obviously gone into even the smallest detail is going to make this case a breeze to travel with. I’ve travelled in Europe with a larger case and regretted my decision…way to hard on trains, taxis etc. This case is the perfect size to be big enough to handle the load but small enough to be easy to manage. The wheel system is so smooth and quite and I love the feel of the extend handle. I haven’t had a chance to take it across the big puddle yet but when I do I am confident I will know I have made the right choice in going with Monos. Oh ya, the sad day bit. When our luggage arrived I sort of gave it a central spot in my home office. It was pleasing to be able to cast my eyes on it and it made me smile. Today I had to put the dust cover on and move it one step closer to our storage room…..I hate to put it away. Beautiful, beautiful luggage, can’t wait to take it on it’s maiden voyage! Thank you Monos
