This is my first Montblanc fountain pen and if I have my way it will not be my last. Being a cursive writer I have always used fountain pens to write with and as an owner of a Yard O Led fountain pen my expectations were high, I'm happy to say that this pen has not disappointed me. It is much lighter than I expected and this means I can write for a longer period of time before I need a 'cuppa of tea' break in order to rest my wrist. I bought it with the Montblanc ink and I can understand why the company asks that you use their own ink...it flows beautiful, they are truly meant for each other. If you are looking for a statement pen that works well, feels comfortable and allows you to write beautifully then this is the pen for you.

I have been using a Montblanc for over 20 years and have been exposed to it from a child as my Dad used it quite a bit. I got the Meisterstück and the very first time I used it, the cap slipped from my palm onto the floor which was less than 12 inches in height. This resulted in a broken chip.I have had several drops with my other Montblanc writing instruments but it never left a scratch. I believe the legacy, quality and durability of Monthlanc is going downhill.
This is a replacement pen for a MB pen of 20 years.
I was excited to receive my Montblanc M145! As soon as I inked it the medium nib was ready to deliver a nice, slightly wet print. The writing was so smooth just like my Journal nib on my Esties. The pen is smaller than my Esties but the balance makes up for the size in my hand. The service is great from Penboutique! This makes my third "premium" fountain pen from Penboutique. I strongly recommend their service.
This is a really nice pen looks very good, but most importantly the nib is very smooth and great to write with. Although obviously pricey I'm really pleased with the purchase.

Brought this for a family member, who writes cursive in the most beautiful way but doesn't have the BEST pen for it. Brought him this and so far so good, he says it writes smoothly and doesn't feel uncomfortable to hold. Very nice looking pen too.
I was unsure if this pen was suitable for women's hands, and it is. The model number is 145, not 149, I think. Extravagant expense for me but I have given up smoking and I felt I deserved a treat!
