We bought this and a matching kettle about a month ago. The mechanisms on both the kettle and the toaster are flimsy, plastic and a bit clunky but the biggest problem is the toaster doesn't function well. It doesn't matter if you are toasting 1 , 2 or 4 slices it burns one edge and doesn't toast the other. We have tried all combinations and settings and locating the bread in different spots it makes no difference. This was not a cheap purchase so its pretty disappointing
