I bought this for a few reasons: (1) I couldn't find my current favorite, Eagle One Superior Nanowax, at the Wal-Mart store that day so I thought I'd try something new, and CMX also says it uses nanotechnology, which I assume is what makes Nanowax so good; (2) I've had good experience with Mother's products in the past - their 3-step pre-wax cleaner, carnauba wax, and paint sealer/glaze regimen is the best, although very time-consuming; (3) It was a choice between this or another ceramic spray coating from ""Hybrid systems"", which I guess is a Turtle Wax spin-off? It rained 5 minutes after I finished applying, and the water definitely beaded up nicely. They tell you it is more effective if you ""stack"" (re-apply) coats (better for your paint and their bottom line too). I re-applied a second coat about a week later (after another wash, which did seem easier from the first coating). CMX definitely leaves the painted surface shiny, feeling smooth and ""protected"" somehow. Is it in my mind or just marketing? I guess we'll see in the long run. This stuff is kind of pricey, but I put 2 full applications on a small car and still have what feels like at least 2/3 of the bottle left, so it's an OK value. Note: I originally applied CMX to a freshly washed car whose only coating had been Eagle One Nanowax about 5 months earlier, so I figured the wax must have been gone and there was no need to remove it. \n\nWe'll see how this compares to Nanowax in the long run (my car's paint is still pretty new so doesn't have a lot of swirls to cover up - Nanowax does a great job with that). Anyway, give CMX a try - I did and I'm very happy with the results so far. \n\n

If you're looking for a high level of protection - and don't have or want to spend hours achieving it, look no further. This is your product.Having started detailing my cars with paste way (after stripping off the old finish with powdered laundry detergent), am no stranger to putting the time in to get a great, smooth protective finish. Also used to conventional waxes having certain rules to follow - NEVER get it on black trim, NEVER apply wax in the sun and NEVER leave it on too long and let it dry like concrete.Those were the good old days.Great to see coatings have made the leap to the 21st century and give superior performance with considerably less effort required to achieve them. CMX doesn't have a bunch of rules to follow - get it on black trim - fine! In fact, you can coat your black trim with CMX to give it the same protection as your paint. Drying time is minutes, not hours, although it is recommended to wait 24 hours between coats to allow proper cure time.My only comment about ceramic coatings is they don't seem to offer as much glossy shine as several layers on conventional wax - I assume they don't build up as thick of layers as waxes would to give as much of a wet look.Photos attached of 7 years old midwest weather vehicle that looks, in my opinion, as good as new. Love the results, especially for the minimum amount of effort needed.

Before I get into things, let’s not forget that this is a budget option, not a professional ceramic coat. You probably aren’t a professional detailer yourself, so don’t judge the product if your work is lackluster.Whenever applying to a new car I use this product in conjunction with the abrasive surface prep. I drive a dark blue car, so paint defects stand out. It’s pretty common stuff and is usually used by detailers as the start of paint prep when they plan to put on new product and need a blank canvas.That being said, it’s not permanent. I’ve found that it will last around a month on it’s own. When you apply the product do 2-4 layers. It’s ceramic coat, not wax. Give it 24 hours or so and then clean the car and apply 2-3 more layers. From there just go quickly over the car every time you wash it with 1 more layer and you should be fine. I regularly spend 4 hours on I-20 in my very low car, and despite the additional exposure to road grime I deal with being as lose as I am, I never have a hard time washing the car and maintaining the coating. If you roll up your sleeves and do the work the way it needs to be done then this is an excellent product. Don’t forget that it’s not a professional quality ceramic coating, so it doesn’t produce the same 3 year results. But that said, you’re paying a fraction of the price. 5 stars in my book, and much more easily maintainable than wax. This is quality stuff for it’s price.I can spray my car off with a hose after a dusty night and by the time I get to 60mph the car is dried off and clean again. As a note for the photos, my car is 110k miles and a rebuilt title and the paint looks great with a little elbow grease topped off with this product. 10/10
