Mount Gay Eclipse Rum 700ml

Historic rum with vanilla and banana flavors. Maybe not the best Mount Gay variety for drinking neat or over ice but a very good option for mixing. It turns a standard rum and Coke into a very good vanilla Coke. The flavor and quality are higher than expected at this price.

I bought this from total wine. But in general, I love mount gay rum. Only because i love mixing and paring it with fruity sides or other liquors. I first tried a shot of this and it was amazing! Went down smooth and its great if you want something thats on the darker side of drinks but a lighter smoother taste. Incentivized by influenster.

I was excited to try mount Gaye eclipse heritage blend rum. My favorite way to drink rum is in a pina colada or with coke. I was interested in trying this rum because it is matured in oak barrel similar to a lot of bourbons. The flavor of this rum gives off a slight oakiness for that reason. Overall this is a great run to mix.

I shared this rum with 7 other people other than myself. 5 out of the 7 said it was the worst rum they have tasted. I see online it scores highly but for me, it's a no. Strong rubbing alcohol smell and taste. Didn’t even taste better with a mixer. Easy to find in the store and a decent price point is all it had going for itself.

I just got this rum today and I made my own cocktail with it. I used tart cherry juice, simple syrup and the juice of two limes. I wasn’t sure what to expect since I made my own recipe. It is absolutely delicious! I love the rum it has such a smooth great flavor. I usually buy Bacardi but this blows it away ! Would definitely buy again and recommend!!

When my husband and I went to Barbados in 2018, we toured several rum distilleries. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and never toured the Mount Gay distillery. Still, I could taste hints of banana, vanilla and spice. It seems like the quintessential Barbadian rum, especially if rum is your drink of choice. I am not a huge rum-drinker, and this rum was pretty strong, but I still liked the tropical vibe it had. My husband enjoyed it as well. It will be fun to make rum punch and rum-and-cokes with the Mount Gay Heritage blend, too! I would recommend the Mount Gay Heritage blend to any rum enthusiast.

Mount Gay Eclipse Heritage Blend Rum is a new favorite! This rum is very smooth and has amazing flavor! It comes straight from the birthplace of rum— Barbados! I think the flavor profile of this rum is much better than nearly every other brand of rum I’ve tried in the past. I used it to make a rum punch, which was exceptionally delicious!

Ahh Mount Gay that “hilariously” named rum that often leads to a myriad of puerile double entendres and unfunny jokes. Fortunately, when sipped the rum does not exhibit much of these sickly sweet flavours. It’s just very heavy on the alcohol. I wouldn’t even say it is particularly rough as such. Yes it burns and gives you a bit of a tingle and warms you but it doesn’t knock you backwards. It’s not really for sipping.

I've only really ever tried white spiced rum. I was pleasantly surprised with Mount Gay. It was floral, sweet with honey, vanilla tropical fruit. To help balance it out it was also spiced toasty. I think pairing this with tonic or club soda a lime wedge would be perfect for breezy summer days. I am definitely going to look up some cocktails that pair well with this.

I liked this rum. There is a slight vanilla nuts with that familiar rum aroma. I drank it neat to be able to appreciate it. However, let’s not forget it’s great with any mixer! Neat, on the rocks or mixed. This is a winner. Reasonable price, it’s a great addition to any bar.
