After drying I put it on and I noticed a hole in the garment on the stomach area.I haven’t contacted prior to this as as now it’s washed I thought you would not accept a return and didn’t want to deal with the drama.This is a $130 garment and the quality control is pathetic.Hopefully you will read this and there is some sort of guarantee in the item and you can offer an exchange. I haven’t worn the Item since noticing the hole!

I just bought this men's merino top from Mountain Designs. Besides the fact that the quality is really lousy – cheap Chinese wool – it is much larger than specified in the size guide. I am around 99, the size guide said the small stopped at 96 so I bought the medium which apparently is 96-101, which it definitely is not. When I attempted to return it, I was told because it was a thermal garment worn close to the skin it could not be returned. Not good enough! Very upset. Won't buy from this outfit again.
Relatively good underlayer for a cool Melbourne winter day time. The Mountain Designs sticker logo partially comes off in the first wash.
Excellent quality and manufacture. Great fit. Super warm. Durable. Love the deep colour too. This is my 5th!
It feels cheap. I've noticed a lot of loose threads and stitches popping after just a few very light uses. Concerned about how it will hold up over time. In terms of warmth it is passable for milder days. I've worn it at 10c with a fleece over the top and felt chilly. I would want something heavier if it got cold.
Great base layer. Fit true to size. Warm, comfortable. Wore it for 7 days consecutive to see how it would perform. Great moisture wicking, virtually no odour.
was disappointed in the quality of these thermals considering the price. very fragile and not very durable. hole formed in the sleeve after 2nd use. can't return as they are under garments. wouldn't buy again.
it seems to be well made. it is a little bit more scratchy than I expected from Merino, I hope that goes away with the first wash. Also i am surprised that 3XL was not as big as expected. This is always a problem in that 3xl is different in different countries. it still fits and is good for the purpose that i want i.e. to be worn as underwear.
