I wanted shorts that were just a tiny bit higher above the knees compared to the long hiking shorts and these did just that. Fantastic in terms of pockets and comfort, as well as looking like your typical pair of shorts you could wear anywhere.

Bought first pair of these and within maybe 4 wears noticed the fabric failing where it touches rubs my front thigh during normal wear. The fabric gathered on both legs and went hard in patches sort of like it was affected by heat. Thinking it was a one off, I had an in store exchange done as well bought a new pair online because I like the way they fit and function. I haven't received the exchange yet, but the online 2nd pair has done the same thing after maybe 4 wears. The fabric pills underneath, then gathers and hardens across the top surface. I guess most people think this is acceptable, which for trail hiking it would be in a daggy sort of way, however it makes them very shabby for general wear around town. Elastic waist band that fits very snug, but still remains comfortable. Stretchy and manoeuvrable for people with bigger legs. Comfortable for all day wear, and they dry quickly as well.Best shorts I've bought in a long time đź‘Ť

Good light shorts with great zip pockets. When it arrived the stitching was messy and needed to be cleaned up from lose ends especially considering I purchased this on sale at over $70 let alone if I were to buy at full price. Comfortable to wear. Button feels a bit lose but does it's job
Comfortable, lightweight and quick drying. These are perfect for pretty much every outdoor activity. Good fit and size. Would definitely recommend.
These shorts are simply brilliant. Light weight, multiple pockets with zippers. I use these for hiking trips where you can easily fit your phone (Samsung S22) into the front pockets for mapping/photos. Better still they do not require a belt as the waist is elastic. The shorts sit just above the knee (shorter than other hiking shorts like Mont, especially if you are bush bashing, you'll need a set of gaitors and be prepared that you'll still get some scratches on your knees.) My only concern is that due to being light weight, I worry with the durability, i.e rubbing on rocks etc. These are now my go to shorts for everything. Will be ordering another pair.
Super comfortable shorts that wick away the sweat and make the hike that much more comfortable. My third pair and they will be tested walking Mt Bartle Frere in the next couple of weeks.
I LOVE Mountain Designs and own heaps of their gear, however, I was disappointed with these shorts. They were very, very lightweight. Too lightweight for me and the types of 'Mission' I regularly get up to. And I live in the tropics. They felt like lightweight, elastic boardies with pockets. They don't have a built in belt but lots of pockets that when loaded up, pulled the shorts down.
