Mr Kipling's cherry bakewells are one of if not even my favourite baked treat, so I was of course curious to try them in their slice form but, before I get to that, NOTE that these slices are packed in PAIRS, not as individual slices, so good luck to you if you intend/want to eat only 1 (LOL). With that said, these were unsurprisingly nice. They're pretty similar to the originals only, to me at least, anyway, these seem like they are not quite as sweet. I mean, for all I know, these could be the same or perhaps even worse as far as sugar content in comparison to the original, only these seem not quite as sweet because they're made up of thinner layers of icing, jam, etc, versus, the original.

Bakewell Perfection

A perfect tea time treat. The almond flavours along with the icing and jam is a toral classic. Cant beat Mr Kipling for consistency and incredible taste every time.

Great with a cup of coffee

Lovely bakewell slices - delicious combination of almond and raspberry, perfect with a cup of tea or coffee. Great texture and ideal size. They are wrapped in 2?s to keep them fresh. Excellent quality, would recommend

Jammy and Almonds

These are literally bakewell tarts reformed into cake. Very tasty but quite small. They are wrapped up in two's so the others stay fresh. Nice and small small I ate both at the same time. Excellent taste, just enough almond and raspberry to notice, not enough to be overpowering. Nice texture. Good size for a snack or lunchbox or with afternoon tea. Jammy and almonds.

Kipling Classic

Possibly my favourite of the Kipling stable. A soft well textured sponge with a layer of jam. I?d prefer the icing to be a little less sticky and not find itself mostly stuck to the wrapper when I come to open them. These are definitely tasty and have a lovely light almond flavour. I?m not particularly an almond fan but the delicate nature of this and the sweetness of the plum jam and icing counter it well. Whilst packaging the 6 slices as 3 pairs saves on yet more plastic waste had they been individually wrapped it does mean that unless you can share you almost feel obliged to eat two at a time. I wonder if individual paper packaging is in the pipeline. Picked up as part of a promotion.

Lovely almondy taste, balanced flavours

Lovely almondy bakewell taste with flavour from the jam and icing in lovely balance. Prefer these to rhe cherry bakewell with pastry as not a fan of pastry. Nice portion sizes.

Moreish

I absolutely love these Bakewell tart slices. The almond sponge is lihlgth and fluffy and perfectly compliments the tang of the jam. These slices are very moreish. I liel that they are individually packaged with two slices together. Ideal for lunch boxes or on the go snacks.

One of the best from Mr Kipling!

Mr Kipling is an iconic brand, and this treat shows why. It’s almost like a crossover of Victoria Sponge and a Bakewell Tart. This has, honestly, got to be one of my favourite Mr Kipling treats. I don’t really buy on a regular basis (since rising prices), but it never fails to please.

Perfect quick dessert

Great tasting bakewell slices. Lovely almond flavour, fruity filling and sweet, sticky icing on top. One of my favourites from Mr Kipling range. Perfect as a quick dessert or snack. Good value for money and good quality. Would recommend.

Sickly sweet and small

It is so very long, decades, since I last ate these and when I saw them listed, and on offer too, decided to buy. Have they shrunk? I seem to remember them being much larger, and not so sickly sweet with such a thick layer of icing. I admit, I don't have a very sweet tooth and it is rare that I buy sweet things, but these came as a shock and ended up in the bin. I remember them being more cake-like.
