Best Bang for the Buck Card 2021

Looking to build a PC for my wife and I am lucky to get this card at MSRP from MC through the voucher system (1st attempt). The card is comparable in gaming performance to my old 1080Ti when I tested it and it achieved so with much less power consumption. It can handle most mainstream games in 1080p or 2K with reasonable FPS. DLSS is a neat feature (on 2K). This MSI card has decent built quality, runs cool and quiet with some nice cosmetic touch-ups.All in all, I love this card.

I waited outside Marietta, ATL, Microcenter all night and by the time I got up to receive my voucher, only AMD 6700 and MSI 3060s were left.I went with the 3060 as a gamer and nVidia's tech advantage with DLSS and RTX. I'm very pleased with my decision, I'm able to run current games like Outriders on Ultra, 2k, around 120 fps, without any issues. I can run Cyberpunk on 2k high settings for the most part and stay around 72 fps. This 3060 has performed a lot better than I thought it would and I'd recommend it to anyone that isn't able to, or can't afford, a better card. Eventually I plan to get a better card, 3070 or 3080 and I'll throw this 3060 in my nephews gaming PC.Of course this is all coming from a GTX 1060 3GB, so my expectations weren't the highest :)

Decent card out of the box, even better overclocked

The RTX 3060 was more than capable of smashing Doom Eternal at 1080p 120+FPS even with raytracing enabled and no overclocking. Later on, I took it a step further, opened up MSI Afterburner, and overclocked the core clock by 225 MHz and the memory clock by 1150 MHz with no issues, a surprisingly good overclock. The 12 gigabytes of VRAM might at first seem excessive since most modern games cap out at around 8 gigabytes of VRAM right now; however, after installing 900 Skyrim mods as part of the to make Skyrim look like a modern title, I reached up to 11 gigabytes ... MoreAfter not being able to run Doom Eternal at at max settings due to requiring 7.7 gigabytes of VRAM, as well as not getting the framerate I wanted at medium-low settings, I realized it was time for an upgrade. Finally a next gen card.
23 February 2022

I was building a computer for my son and looked at what was available and would you believe it, a 3000 series card for around a grand canadian. Wowzers. So I ordered it and gave my son my RX570 which is good enough for what he wants but FINALLY I can play MSFS2020 in VR and the frame rate actually isn't that bad with everything maxxed (the rest of the computer is a i9-9900k with 64GB DDR5 and all files on m.2 drives). I'm sure the experience would be even crazier with one of the higher tier cards, but I'm tired of waiting it's been literally years I've been waiting to get one of these cards and finally everything moves smooth so good guy I guess given the circumstances.

Great for Overclocking
23 April 2021

I was amazingly able to walk in to Microcenter on a Wednesday evening and pick this card up. At first I was bummed out that this card was all they had left, but I bought it anyway considering how lucky I was to find it in the first place.Iwas able to overclock this card to +225 Mhz with MSI afterburner, which is the highest OC I have ever seen personally. (I believe 2126 Mhz total). And after gaming for hours it never went above 57° C which is even more incredible! This card is a really great option and frankly I am very surprised at how well the thermals are kept in check, especially at the maximum achievable OC.

Great graphics card.
4 August 2021

I finally got selected for Newegg Shuffle and although I was hoping to get chosen for at least a 3070, I'm very pleased with this card and the way it performs. The card itself looks great, from the sleek looking backplate to the tasteful LED's and the fans are silent, at least from what I can tell. I upgraded from a 1070 mini and definitely noticed a weight difference between the cards however after installing it, it felt secure and I do not think I will need to support it with an extra bracket. My only gripe would be the price but I guess it's worth it for the overall appearance and quality of this card and actually being able to upgrade to a 30 series finally.

MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Gaming X 12G Review 1440p
13 January 2023

As a standard video card in 1440p display it handles most games I have pretty well at a high refresh rate. However it does struggle a bit as an RTX card when I enable RTX in modern powerful games like Cyberpunk or even Metro Exodus. It still would recommend it though for gaming and general use as it is reliable and quiet and is a decent sized card

Small, But Still Manages to Look Great!
25 December 2021

This card looks great in my opinion. The RTX 3060 from Nvidia is a really great entry-level graphics card that supports Ray Tracing and DLSS. Both new technologies are used to improve game play in a lot of supported game titles. This card is really good and I use it in my personal system. It works great with no issues. I installed the necessary Nvidia Game Ready drivers from Geforce Experience and was ready to go. The 3060 was enough for my gaming needs and also can live stream quite nice. I am very satisfied with my purchase, and I am happy to have had the chance to buy this card. I know this shortage is bad, and it took me 5 months of trying, but I got it in the end. Don't give up, your chance will come soon.

Worth it?
14 May 2022

I upgraded from a RX470 to a GTX 1060 6GB to this RTX 3060 12GB in a very short amount of time. The difference is huge each time. I game on 1080p on 144hz monitors and it's great and has yet to really struggle with games out currently. The price was almost 100 higher than msrp but after selling the rest of the cards I upgraded for a little. Undervolted this card as well using a voltage curve on afterburner. This card runs on .925v! Awesome card but ymmv! All cards are not equal and that is with a overclock on it as well. Depends on your silicon. You will know you've undervolted too much when your drivers stop responding. There are plenty of resources on this online. Do your research!
