[Rewarded Review] A beast of a GPU

This GPU is a beast. I got it paired with a Ryzen 9 7950x3D, pulling from a 850w PSU. Everything is flawless. There’s no hiccups with any games (at 2k res). Temperatures are the lowest I’ve ever seen. I wasn’t expecting this upgrade to have such a big impact. Totally worth it. Hopefully, I won’t need any other upgrades within the next few years.

[Rewarded Review] Enthusiast-tier graphics card will not disappoint
26 April 2024

This is an unparalleled piece of hardware. Due to the hefty pricetag, it certainly falls into the realm of an enthusiast graphics card, however, it very gloriously shines with Ultra settings and high frame rates even in the most demanding of games, including VR. It has an excellent coolant system and considering how powerful it is, it stays pretty quiet. Added value with the "Slim" version costing a few hundred dollars less than the base models without there being any hit taken to the performance. I haven't had a chance to test it out with media certain tools yet, such as rendering frames in Blender, Unreal Engine, or Video editing, this i can't give a good review on how it handles those loads.Very highly recommended if you have the extra money.

[Rewarded Review] Great Card!
18 April 2024

Good card, slimmer than the previous version, does not overheat or anything, I get within 2% of the average benchmark scores for the average 4090, so no noticeable loss of performance vs the others. Runs cool, even under load, fans don't spin up like a hair dryer for me at least, but I have a giant case with tons of fans that are already aggressive about spinning up on their own based on cpu. Also, the bracket is great and necessary, but be sure that the rubber tab is on it and you don't take it off. Some reviewers did that and stated it was useless. False, you just have to read the instructions...

[Rewarded Review] Insane power with insane cooling.
14 May 2024

MSI did a phenomenal job with slimming down the gargantuan 4090 into something that can fit in nearly any ATX case. It is also way quieter than a 6950xt I owned in the past. This 4090 having a smaller chassis as well as a smaller cooler despite being a power hungry beast with at minimum 450 watts when maxed out, it’s a modern marvel of design that they got the noise level down to a whisper at most. It’s pricey, even more so than the model card, but the performance and the amount of VRAM 4090s have is no joke. I’d say the cooler design can warrant a little premium.

Had it for about 2 weeks now, bought the corsair premium cables and a 100 psu for this energy sucker. Not gaming you hardly even notice its there, while gaming still quiet (*shocker*); plays games like cyberpunk 2077 at max and doesn't complain, plays anything really. If you want to just jump into a game and play and not worry then this thing is for you haha.I had a 7900xtx previously but NVIDIA drivers are just superior, no crashes to date.Probably gonna buy the 5090 at launch because why not, I don't care what it costs I gotta have it for science.

[Rewarded Review] Smaller and quieter (coil whine) 4090!
19 November 2023

Previously had a RTX 4090 Gaming X Trio and these are my thoughts and observations between the two.The Gaming X Slim is much smaller both in thickness, 4 slot vs 3 slot, and length, 337mm to 322mm. This doesn't seem like a lot but it really opens the door for the use of smaller ITX cases, which I prefer. It isn't FE size, but that card is nearly impossible to get.The second major difference for me is the coil whine. With the Gaming X Trio, I could hear it chirping away under full load and even undervolted it was still audible. This was through a quieter case that had glass panels instead of a mesh sided case I am using for the Gaming Slim now. With the Gaming X Slim, I can't hear it at all at normal distance under full load. If I put my ear right up to the case ... MorePreviously had a RTX 4090 Gaming X Trio and these are my thoughts and observations between the two.The Gaming X Slim is much smaller both in thickness, 4 slot vs 3 slot, and length, 337mm to 322mm. If you have a larger case, I would recommend going for a different variant. I have an H9 airflow and only got the slim because it was the only 4090 available at the time. If there were other options I would’ve gone for the GAMING OC by gigabyte or gaming trio MSI. Other than that, it works great, temps are usually at 55-75c when under load. GPU usage paired with a 14700k very rarely at 100% but that is to be expected with this card. One niche I do have with this card is the support bracket sucks. Going to get a vertical mount.
