I've gone through three X570 boards (Gigabyte Aorus Pro Wifi, Asus Crosshair VIII Hero, and this one) and this board is by far my favorite of the three and the one I'm deciding to keep. An excellent board. I have had the opportunity to work with the X570 godlike, X570 Unify, and the B550 Unify-x. Each one of them are outstanding in their own right, but the B550 has to be my personal favorite. X570 Unify offers an alternative lane configuration that some might find more useful than others. It can handle 32x8 B-Die easily. While it is not water proof, it has endured two water block leakages, and it has been exposed to considerable amounts of moisture. I have not used this for daily use. I have explicitly used this board for OC and FPS gaming. It can handle whatever you can throw at it. I would recommend a case with an excellent air flow design, or leave it outside of the case, the latter is the most efficient option. The board is built to last.

So far hasn't been a big deal, but I've used up 3 of them already with a Blu-Ray burner and dual SSDs in a RAID configuration.- Setting up the RAID was a bit of a learning experience, even thought I've done it before. Not as straight forward as I'd like. Building the RAID array using the AMD S/W took hours, even with fast Samsung 2 TB SSDs. (For those who run into the same issue, once the AMD RAID tool is finished, the drives will NOT show up in Windows. You have to go under Computer Management in the Windows settings and setup/format the disks. The AMD RAID instructions make no mention of this.)- I might be missing something but the REALTEK drivers, at least for a simple stereo speaker configuration, lack any graphic equalizer. My old PC, with REALTEK audio chips, had that. Not impressed. I doubt that this problem is just limited to the MSI Unify, BTW.- Not sure why, but even with fast hardware, the boot time seems more than it needs to. Takes probably 15-20 seconds to hear the beep confirming that the POST has occurred, and probably 25 seconds+ to get to the Windows login. I was expecting better.All in all, the Unify seems like a good platform in which to build a very solid, high-performing system. My complaints are relatively minor, and don't rise to the level of being a deal breaker. In short, I'd still buy the MEG X570 Unify again.
Pros: Great RAM OC potential, and was able to OC my RAM 400MHz higher on this board, than my previous B450 Tomahawk MAX. 3 M.2 slots all at Gen 4 speeds is really nice. Great VRM cooling with more stable OC potential. With my 5800X OC'd the same between my X570 and B450, the X570 VRM temps were 44C, compared to the B450 at 62C, and with two 8 pin power plugs to the CPU guarantee you'll get all the power you need/want to the CPU Cons: Getting the audio and BT drivers working correctly on this board has been a nightmare, and is a known issue, only wish I would have known about it before hand. lol I eventually solved my mic issue with a USB audio driver extension, and BT, well it picks up everything except my controllers, which is the only thing I care to connect BT ... Great motherboard for the price, the M2 slots are hidden (heat sinks lol) and everything is mostly in a good spot. Only thing is that as parts advance you start needing to update everything around it. I did this for the CPU, that's fine, I won't be future proofed for ddr4; my choice. But then there are certain ports you can't use without the right case, most come with USB 3 but anything above that I already have a great case and don't want to upgrade. Also came with no screws, which I thought was usually on the motherboards end, but maybe that's case based? Anyway, good motherboard for my new CPU, didn't want to spend the money to future proof it.
I am pleased with this board. Don't get the star rating wrong, it seems rock solid. I had an msi x470 gaming pro that was 2.5 yrs old and it had always been wonky (I should've rma'd it immediately really) and was just dying, the USB ports were electrically going out bad. This board is a big upgrade. The fan isn't loud really..if your PC is silent it'll be audible but I have mine inside a closed cabinet that only vents out the back and it doesn't penetrate that, whereas my gpu fans do.My 2700x and 1080ti both perform much better as I can push them to higher safe stable overclocks with the more expanded options of this board. My gpu I can push to a 60/ 400 MHz and still have it stay under 70c whereas before games would crash and forget about stability and benchmarking at more than 36. And that all definitely stabilized framerates in 4k games. 3 games I play I was able to turn the graphics options up to hear max and still hold 60 nowThe bad: the price. Mfctrs have now stratified basic extremely cheap (cents) essential qol parts like onboard Post Code LEDs and power/reset/reset cmos butter and into high end boards and left them off sub 200s. B's. The Post beep from onboard speaker (I like to hear that single beep to know it's coming up correctly and silence can mean something's wrong) doesn't work. It works fine for error beep codes. Wasn't expecting much moving to the x570 Unify thinking that it was a limitation of the IPC of my 3700x. First thing tried was A-XMP with the Patriot Viper 4133Mhz 32Gb but didn't post so figured wasn't gonna get much better than X370. Little did I know, found the Memory Try It! feature and went down the list till was able to post @ 3800Mhz 18-18-18-30, tightened the timings and gradually upped the voltage in small increments and settled on 3800Mhz 16-16-16-30 trfc 320 with all 32Gb being 100% stable. Board has been extremely stable and the lack of S/ATA ports doesn't hinder anything since M.2 is becoming the new go to storage solution and you can have 3 sticks installed. Went from 5 S/ATA drives to 4 but increased storage capacity with an M.2 2Tb in top slot, and a 1Tb in middle slot, with room for expansion with the 3rd slot. As for the M.2 heatsink cover it dropped my temps from 60c (without) to max 40c with direct contact. Very effective. Overall I am very happy that I took the plunge on this purchase and hope this board lasts me for years to come. If you want to see some good coverage watch the Buildzoid vid on his Actually Hardcore Overclocking youtube channel, it's what sold me on this board. Also purchased the X370 Taichi on his recommendation, that dude knows what he's talking about.

There is a good deal more but that is all that comes to mind. The RAM compatibility is top notch. I have two 32GB sticks of Corsair RAM and I am able to run them at 3600MHZ with timings of 16-18-18-36 and it easily handles my Ryzen 9 3900XT processor with an aggressive overclock. Out of the box had a ton of issues like usb ports that wouldn't recognize Windows 10 installer (actual one from Microsoft physical retail box usb), or usb drive with new BIOs as shipped BIOS didn't recognize 5000 series proc. Took some McGuyver like monkeying around like using a type-c adapter to get USB devices recognized to get past that problem. Once I got the A7 bios in place the proc was recognized and usb ports started working normally, I could proceed with W10 install. OS installed but didn't find network adapters, downloaded from msi site on laptop and installed via usb, finally had internet. It shouldn't have been this hard, after all that ran ok ...
