Finally got a new video card!! The chip shortage and scalpers really put the screws to us gamers over the last few years. Refused to pay over MSRP for a video card. I only game in 1080 so I don't need anything more than this. Was using GTX 1050 Ti. Night and day difference in frame rate. It's a good looking card as well. Back plate is plastic but doesn't look cheap. Much like the RX5500XT the RX6600XT is underrated. Yes it’s extremely overpriced at the time of this review but that’s the graphics card economy right now. Running this card stock paired with a 5600x (-15 Curve) , 16GB 3600mhz DDR4 it’s pulling it’s weight in most titles. Normally seeing FPS over 100 in 1080p and 1440p at High to Ultra settings. Optimized games like COD Vanguard Multiplayer it’s pushing 148-180FPS in 1440p custom settings FFX turned off. This isn’t an enthusiast card. You aren’t going to find water blocks for it. It’s going to get the least attention from AMD regarding drivers and bugs. In a few years at most you are going to need to upgrade again. That said, this is a good gaming card and really all that 99% of people will need to get gaming.

Watching video on the net and browsing appears to use just 18 watts of power? Pc boots faster, the AMD software is great, just sits there doing its job. I can see why it is a 1080p king. As most people use 1080p for gaming (steam). What other card would you need. The card is quite heavy compared to a lot of others I have owned. The build quality is top notch, with game performance excellent. My last nvidia card managed 72 fps on furmark with a tad of overclocking, this with no tweeks, just the AMD software running managed 169 fps? Love it, buy one if you game at 1080p.

Bought this to replace a 1660 super that was going to be used in another system. So far this is about 10% faster than the 1660 super. Although the card sits very close to my motherboard south bridge fan. Handles every game with well over 100 fps on 1080p. It is also able to handle most games in 1440p at or above 60FPS. I ended up adjusting the fan settings in MSI Afterburner as the stock settings let the temps climb well over 75 degrees on casual games. Since adjusting the fan curve it is a much better experience. I did try the overclocking on the AMD software but found it was unstable at times and didn't give much more performance. Overall, I would buy this card if you don't need 4k 100+ fps and don't need to buy a 3080 to prove you are a real gamer.
Upgraded from an RX 570 to this RX 6600 XT, this was a great choice for me as I wanted to play newer games, and I ultimately gave my RX 570 to a friend who had a 1050 ti that was defective. I can now play Halo Infinite at high settings (not ultra) at a consistent 60 fps paired with my R7 3700X (compared to previously getting 30-50 fps on low settings), and I can finally play Apex Legends at maxed setting with 100+ fps (previously played at medium settings). Battlefield 1 is the same story and so are Ghostrunner, Titanfall 2, and Destiny 2. I plan on doing some testing with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in the future. Cooling is great, as I never go above 50 degrees celsius on a custom fan curve, and 26 degrees celsius when I'm not using my computer (measured with MSI ... MoreUpgraded from an RX 570 to this RX 6600 XT, this was a great choice for me as I wanted to play newer games, and I ultimately gave my RX 570 to a friend who had a 1050 ti that was defective. Battlefield 1 is the same story and so are Ghostrunner, Titanfall 2, and Destiny 2. I plan on doing some testing with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in the future. Cooling is great, as I never go above 50 degrees celsius on a custom fan curve, and 26 degrees celsius when I'm not using my computer (measured with MSI Afterburner). Fan noise I didn't care to measure, but that's because I didn't really notice it at all during games that are especially graphics-intensive such as Halo Infinite and Warframe. If you cannot get the MSI Gaming X model of the 6600 xt (which I would recommend the most due to its cooling being pretty much completely passive), then this is a great contender along with the Asus Dual/Strix models. Just make sure you can get a model that can fit your budget because this market is pretty f'ed. If you can hold out, then do as you please. If not, I recommend this model.
Its a good card. it does not come with it's own drivers disk, with it's own software. You have to download the Radeon Adrenalin program instead. MSI doesn't seem to have their own. Might as well not be a MSI card in that case. Might as well be just ATI Radeon, making MSI just a name. How ever unlike the XFX card, With out the Adrenalin program from Radeon, you can just install and play. Had no issues installing out of the gate without the Adrenalin program, and playing cyberpunk 2077 at full high graphics and all setting up, or any other game as is in WIN10. So I guess that is one good thing I suppose. But in WIN7 you will need the program.
GPU is as expected. No visible damage and runs great. Product itself 6600 xt mech is better than expected! Runs cool and silent. (60-65 edge) Under-volt AMD products to get the best out of them and this 6600 xt is pushing 1440p at 80-165 frames on High settings. 60-90 on ultra or extreme. (With a few in game tweaks (5800xt cpu)) AMD texturing is beautiful.
Honestly this is not a bad little card to have. I can pretty much play any game newer than Vanguard at 80-100% max graphics settings on games without a hitch. Someone complained that this is noisy. I don't really think so. Ive ran this card at 90+% capacity, fans full blast and makes nothing more than a quite hum. Honestly, my cheap case fans make more noise. Is this card overpriced quite a bit - yes. But look around, other than your dirt cheap, basic of basic graphics cards every semi decent to good graphics card is going 2x-3x MSRP. China is back in lockdown, which is where graphics cards are made. There is a severe chip shortage. There are simply just supply chain issues. Lastly, some guy has 30 of these cards in a row mining crypto. The later of which is why, ... MoreHonestly this is not a bad little card to have. Until there is a better way to mine crypto outside of using GPU's, cards are ALWAYS going to be significantly over priced.
The Human race is full of good guys and bad guys, That's why I stopped buying and using BestBuy unless is something critical that I need right away. While the good guys keep selling their short stock at MSRP doing raffles and email waiting lists, We have Best Buy or like another reviewer called them RIP OFF BUY, selling these electronics at more than double their MSRP. Yes that's correct they are making more money than the manufacturer. I was one of the few tech People that wanted and walked into best buy and bought their electronics to help them stay in business since almost 100% of the time I'm able to find the same or better electronics cheaper using bigger retailers online.. (and you have to argue with them if you want them to price match something). i would have prefered the 6700xt version of this MSI Mech card. but price per performance was better for this one. i dont need too much GPU to play most of my games. this 6600XT does what i need. this card is the sweet spot for 90% of gamers out there. u dont spend too much and ur not sacrificing anything to game with this. i run a Ryzen 3700X and use two 1440p (165hz & 144hz) monitors. games running great so far.
