it's just a little too much menu surfing for me. It's probably fantastic for someone does complex looping, I found that it seemed like I had to be real precise when exiting loops - with the equipment I have I end menu surfing all the live long day. Think I'm just gonna get the beat buddy and use my daw for loopingthis has a lot of great options and you could really get in deep with it, but but then I might as well just use my daw lolthe only reason I gave it 3 stars is because they need to mait a tad more user friendly on the routing. I couldn't really make heads nor trails out of the thing

Some small glitching a few times when moving too quick with all loops loaded making live fx changes. interface is very intuitive and usable. 4 ins and outs is great and the 7” touch screen is very useful while laying down loops. Solid performance and practice tool and heaps of fun. Preamps sound Avid like to me, clean and crisp with no apparent noise to the monitor outputs. Well built. Hopefully future firmware updates keep the looperboard evolving

ATTENTION!!Do NOT waste your time or money on this pile of junk...Take this review SERIOUSLY! Save yourself $900.This looper should be taken off the market Period! I will be filing a claim in small claims court tomorrow to sue the CEO of HeadRush...FYI...simply turned on Phantom Power and lost all levels of volume on all my loops. All others who have stated all the problems with this looper are true...there are too many problems to list. Buy this HeadRush Looper and enjoy a large paper weight for almost a grand, better yet, go outside and pick up a large rock as a paper weight, SAVE YOUR MONEY FOLKS...NOTE: A Major RIP-OFF...HeadRush see you in court!Would have given this board a (minus) -4 stars if available...

If it worked as advertised it would hand down be the best looper on the market, but its not worth getting into the features because... it doesn't. They want you to pay to beta test it.First problem is that the foot switches are garbage. Aside from being unreliable, look at their forum, you'll find people demonstrating that they plain gave out after a few months. There's already a thread about how to replace/upgrade them. How could they not have known about this?I filmed a crashing issue early on. They updated the the firmware and that problem was fixed. That got my hopes up so I decided not to return it. Of course now its too late and the glitches and bugs have piled up since then. I've used it at three gigs and its crashed at least once each time, requiring a restart.MIDI tempo lags behind and fluctuates. they say they fixed this in the latest firmware update but I see no change. The touch screen is a game changer, but it also has issues. The keyboard falls asleep and won't come back without a restart. So if you need to save something... sorry.Supposed to work with expression pedals. I plugged mine in and assigned it to control one track volume. Instead it muted all the tracks completely and they can't be turned back up. Have to restart. The undo/redo feature has a mind of its own. It regularly gets confused. Now I can't undo/redo without triggering stop/start. I've double and triple checked the settings and even did a factory reset. No luck.Serial mode, where it goes from one phrase to the next, sometimes also gets confused and plays multiple tracks simultaneously. This should not be possible to my understanding. Maybe my reading comprehension has failed me. Regardless, it happens often enough.Maybe mine was just a lemon. I posted videos of this stuff on their forum, didn't get anywhere. An exchange has been initiated but they're out of stock so its going to be two months to get the replacement that I don't even want.Don't waste your time.
Overall:I have no previous experience with loop pedals of any type, yet, within a few minutes I was able to unbox, hook up a guitar, bass, mic, and keyboard and start looping. 4 inputs, 4 outputs — you can send output signal to any number of amps, PAs, frfr speaker cabinets— however you like. The looperboard comes with a number of effects to assign to input channel or to a track. Each of those effects racks can be delved into to tweak the sound, and those settings once customized can be saved and retrieved solely through the foot switches. I purchased this principally as a creative tool for arrangements , but the ease of setting this up and using live can’t be understated... great piece of gear from Headrushfx
This is a nice product. It is a little bit too big and heavy and a bit pricey but its a great looper and a great tool for practice. If this unit had the headrush gig board effects and amps it would be a must buy, but its so easy to use and offers easy tools to do it all from the board. You use the PC to synch files and then you can just use the board to loop, play with tracks and record instruments as well. It does require an effects unit or a amped up set up to get the real use out of it because the built in stuff is just not powerful enough. I use the headrush gigboard with it and you get everything with that setup.
I utilize looper pedals a lot in band as a guitarist so when I heard this was coming out I was very excited for it. I purchased it a few days after it came out and went home to start experimenting with it. Right out of the box my looperboard had 7.3 hours of recording time on it. Headrush advertises over 9 hours of recording time. I did the firmware update and it changed nothing, still 7.3 hours of record time. That is still plenty of time, but at the price I paid for this thing I want the full 9+ hours as advertised. Another even bigger problem is that my unit will shutdown and restart itself in the middle of recording. There were numerous times where I lost everything I was working on because it shut down and restarted. I contacted Headrush and informed them of ... MoreI utilize looper pedals a lot in band as a guitarist so when I heard this was coming out I was very excited for it. There were numerous times where I lost everything I was working on because it shut down and restarted. I contacted Headrush and informed them of the issues. Their customer service was good and they want to replace my unit but I was concerned about their response to the memory issue. They stated that although they advertise 9+ hours of recording time, after all the drum tracks and effects are loaded into the unit you will get around 7 or so hours. Why would you advertise 9+ hours then? Maybe I just got a bad unit but I don't want to mess around with shipping this giant thing back. Perhaps I will give it another go in a year or so and see if issues have been worked out. In the meantime, I will be returning it to GC for a refund.
This should be considered a neutral review. My only complaint is that after studying the manuals and tutorial, the first feature I wanted to get started with (and one of the first features the tutorials point out for you) is the loading of one of the 300 or so factory loops provided. My display lacked this option. In other words they simply weren't there. Maybe just a firmware update was needed, but I am kinda impatient when I buy a piece of equipment this expensive. This is also why I feel confident buying ANY piece of gear from GC. Easy return and credit to my card. I am still excited about the possibilities to eventually explore with this unit which has features unavailable anywhere else except perhaps in the computer software realm. As I stated, for this price I don't want to deal with product support or do firmware updates right out of the box, especially just to obtain highly advertised feature(s) that QC should make sure are CONSISTENTLY available on EVERY UNIT shipped! Below, I would like to add one word to the end of my answer to the friend recommendation question, "YET'.

I was really excited to receive this Looperboard and start jamming. Nearly impossible to get it to work how I wanted. I returned it after 3 days. I am a software engineer, and I just thought the software was so poorly executed, it really frustrated me to the point of returning it for the RC-300. Not worth the money yet, They really need to do some User Research and deliver on being allegedly "the most advanced looperboard". Thought this product was a rushed, poor attempt at a Looper strung together by amateur developers/and or amateur Musicians/developers. They should talk to their Users more.
