I have tried lots of different solutions to keep the nostrils open, especially while sleeping. There's the self adhesive strips that attach to the outside of the nose - they work well, but not good for regular use as the nasal skin is very delicate. Then there are a variety of shapes of plastic inserts ranging from the flimsy to the heavy duty. I find the RhinoMed product is the right balance between too flimsy and too uncomfortable. I like that they are adjustable to ensure the right level of comfort. I have to say that I do use them many more times than the recommended 10 times per unit. My only criticism of the product is that they are a bit pricey. They come in a very smart box, which could perhaps be downgraded to cut costs and lower the retail price.

You have to remember this product only claims to reduce not stop snoring, I am a heavy snorter and it does appear to have helped, I got the pack of three variable sizes and I am still undecided on whether to continue with the medium or the large size. My snoring appears to be reduced but some nights it seems to be back to where it was, I think this is due to swapping sizes and not getting the device in exactly the right place every night. When you fit the device there is a little discomfort but then after a minute or so I forget it's there. I have used the individual devices more than 10 times and there seems to be no degradation so I'm sure you could wear them for more than the recommended 10 uses. I will be buying more of these and persevering, obviously snoring ... These had the best reviews of any snoring aid I've seen so I bought them with full confidence and they didn't work even tho adjusted correctly. I was so determined I used this, put a snore strip on my nose, used the snore spray and I put on one of those magnetic snore rings all at once. Which is each product I've tried each time up till buying this today. So 4 things and my snoring was just as bad as ever. Each night I try and sleep with my new wife and each night she has to send me to the spare room and it's so frustrating. She gets videos to show me how bad I am each time. I have a slight deviated septum and over the years have also found it difficult to breathe at night through my nose due to congestion. Mute is a nasal dilator, that when in place helps clear my nasal passage and enable me to breathe through my nose more easily and not my mouth, thus reduce snoring. I have been using nasal strips which stick over the bridge of the nose which help to open up the airways of the nose which I have found very helpful as I have great difficulty breathing during the night as my nose seems to completely close up. The adhesive of the nasal strips leaves a residue after removal which I do not like so I thought these dilators looked like a great alternative and could be a great deal better without any residue. Unfortunately for me,although I think they are a very good product they did not work in my particular situation which is very disappointing for me. I have been using this for over 4 years now. This is my second pack. Even though it works and helps me breathe better. I think it's expensive, it could be cheaper. I have blocked nose so I use this to dilate rather than nasal sprays. I Don't have a big snoring issue so not sure if it helps with that but definitely helps me breathe better.
I took a punt on needing the larger size rather than starting with the trial pack, which probably would have been a good idea.It took me a few nights to get it right, adjusting the paddles, but luckily for me large was the right size and the device fits perfectly and is working a treat.I have to say I have also felt as if I am getting a better nights sleep, not just my wife who is over the moon I am using it!
I use Turbine from the same brand for sport since my nose is deviated from the inside. I get extra breath from it. So I gave a try to the Mute to sleep better. Design is the same, but material appears more flexible. This sounds logical since you need less structure and grip to hold with horizontal position. Item is also cheaper with clear plastic. However depending on your nose defect, you might prefer Turbine even to sleep.
Everyone is different of course, but for me these made absolutely no difference at all. Tried all the sizes but large was the best fit. A little uncomfortable at first but can't have been that bad as I fell asleep! My wife however still could not due to my snoring. Zero difference I'm afraid!
