Absolutely Delicious

I have started to make my own tomato sauces and decided purchase a few top end tomatoes to trial out. These, by far, gave the tastiest Pasata I have ever had (even better than D.O.P tomatoes). Yes they are pricier, and no I would not use them in a sauces if other ingredients would over power the taste. But where tomatoes are the main flavour these are the ones to get. A new staple in my cupboard.

Addictive

Having never been a fan of tinned tomatoes I gave these cherry tomatoes a try. They are amazing I add a little Tabasco and Worcestershire sauce and there Brilliant on toast for an easy and filling breakfast

Great Taste

If you want superior flavour you might have t pay more for it as these tomatoes prove. The premium price makes a very marginal difference to our overall food difference and the quality of the tomato sauce these produce make the premium justified. The taste is rich and they are less watery than standard brands so they cook down more quickly and effectively. I might add the whole of the Mutti range and especially their most expensive San Manzarno tomatoes is far better than the standard competitors.

How to cook better? Use better ingredients.

A class above. Transforms any tomato based dish. Makes it easier to reduce meat intake.

Id never thought of buying tinned cherry tomatoes before but I needed them for a recipe so bought a few while they were on offer. Wow, they are a game changer when it comes to pasta dishes! Ive only tried this brand but they are delicious and will definitely be a regular purchase now.

My favourite tinned tomatoes

I used this to make a Greek oven baked vegetable dish. I poured it over mixed vegetables and the dish came out wonderful. I liked that the tomatoes just about held their shape, and they tasted lovely. This is now a regular purchase, worth paying extra for.

Outstanding for making a sauce.

I have been making my own tomato sauce for many years, mainly using tinned plum tomatoes which I crushed with my hands before cooking. Recently I used Mutti cherry tomatoes and they made the best tomato sauce ever. I whizzed them before cooking leaving a bit of texture. I used three tins, and finely chopped three shallots, 1 small carrot, 1 stick of celery, and three cloves of garlic. I fried the vegetables and when they were soft added the tomatoes. When the sauce was warmed I added half a packet of chopped basil leaves, and left the sauce uncovered to simmer on the lowest possible heat for three hours No need for sugar.Exceptional. 10/10 from me and my family.

Peel left on

If you want unpeeled tinned cherry tomatoes, I recommend Waitrose's own, delish and cheaper too. I wanted to try the Mutti version, most expensive I've seen around so thought they would be unpeeled too. I had to put them through a sieve to make juice.

Top quality cherry tomatoes

You definitely get what you pay for here, they are top quality. The tomatoes stay whole and juicy when cooked and don't mush down, the sauce is lovely and rich. They are perfect for a pasta sauce or just topping on sourdough for breakfast! They are also very healthy with no preservatives, just a tin of pure tomatoes and juice. These will be a regular on my shopping list.
