I was given this to review. Happy to take it as I wouldn?t normally spend this amount on passata. Wasn?t necessarily expecting a great deal. As I don?t eat pizza I?ve been wondering how to use it so I?d get full benefit of flavour. Today it?s 29 degrees out there and I thought a quick pot of ice cold gazpacho would be lovely. So I used this passata and a tin of Mutti tomatoes, again free, as I had no fresh tomatoes. It was utterly delicious. I will definitely buy this again, if only for this one dish over the summer. A sceptic who highly recommends!
I don?t know what has happened to this product. It used to be absolutely delicious. Recent deliveries have a red cap rather than an orange one and it is watery, tasteless with an acidic taste, rather than the previous rich tomato taste. Very disappointed.
As pointed out by another helpful reviewer I posted a review stating this contained 5% salt which it does not and I apologise. However at 0.5g per 100g this IS too salty. I could not serve it to one member of our family for medical reasons. You just don't expect that with what looks like healthy passata. Other passata available from Ocado has far less salt than this and honestly taste as good. Why add salt to this in the jar?
Very fresh tomato flavour without the harsh acidic after taste you get from some pasatas.
This is perfect. Even the best Italian peeled plum tomatoes don't come close. No need to add sugar to balance out the acidity. Perfectly smooth. Top product.

This is home THE best tomato Passata I have ever hadsweet, silky, smooth, rich and gorgeous ripe tomato flavour! No acidity whatsoever. It elevates a simple tomato and basil sauce to the next level will not buy anything else now so so so good!
