I just had my 3rd baby and have really enjoyed the My Brest Friend Deluxe Pillow. I have always used other nursing pillows in the past, and although my current baby is 8 months old, I am wishing I had this pillow when she was a newborn for those evening cluster feeds! I prefer to use a pillow when nursing rather than just holding my baby since it allows my arms to stay free to help my other little kiddos if they need it. Unlike other nursing pillows, this one is really supportive for the baby and mama. My baby is held at a much better height to reach the breast to prevent me from having to crouch over or anything. The pocket is really nice to hold your phone or a snack, so handy when you have a newborn! The buckle really helps to hold the pillow in place to keep the baby from slipping. I haven't had any issues with the velcro adjusting strap catching on anything. Although my baby is 8 months old, I am hoping to continue breastfeeding for some time like I have with my other babies and we will be getting so much use out of this breastfeeding pillow!

I hot this as a baby shower gift and it was very helpful at first when you are trying to learn about latching. It is very comfortable to use since it helps bringing closer your baby to you and it's a wonderful support for your arms. If baby falls asleep after feeding you can stay there and you will be comfortable enough to endure baby's nap time. It also has pockets so you can keep anything you need in there and it will be at reach. I use it for about 3 months when baby is still small once she is getting bigger is harder to use.

Did not work for me

This nursing pillow is great in theory, but doesn’t live up to its description. The back pad doesn’t sit in the middle of your back unless you are super skinny. It sat more to the left on me and was uncomfortable. It would be better if the entire back piece was adjustable on both sides. I’m short and have a short torso. This made the baby sit up too high bc it was directly under my chest. Also, it’s great that it’s waterproof but the plastic is really loud when the baby moves around. Sticking with my old pillow and still looking for a better option.

Excellent for long torsos

I started using this during my lactation appointments and ended up getting two, one for the nursery and one for downstairs. I like the super deluxe because I have a fairly long torso, and while the baby was still small, the Boppy wasn’t cutting it. I like the plastic covering because milk drips and baby spits up while lying there. It’s kept this pillow in much better shape than my regular deluxe pillow. I don’t find that it makes much noise when baby shifts; certainly not enough to be disruptive. The back can be a little off, but it doesn’t bother me in the least. The super deluxe is also much more solid than the deluxe or original version. My son really, REALLY, loves doing his baby squats on this thing when he’s done eating. Overall I think it’s a fantastic nursing pillow and it’s especially great if you’re a FTM and new to breastfeeding. No joke, before I found this pillow I was ready to give up on breastfeeding altogether.

Great breastfeeding pillow

Found this recommended on Reddit after my first breastfeeding pillow didn't really help me much. I was skeptical, but this thing is amazing. I ended up with thumb tendinitis from breastfeeding and this helps me not strain my hands any longer. I love that when my baby falls asleep, this helps me support her weight too for contact naps. I'm shocked this isn't recommended more.

Mom must have… Love for breastfeeding!!

My first pregnancy I had the boppy pillow (an older version). I found myself always adjusting it and stuffing pillows or blankets to get it where I needed it. I recently had my second baby and used my boppy for the first few days then I went to my lactation visit and they had my brestfriend pillow for us to use. I was so impressed by it that I asked where I can get one and I went straight to buybuy baby limping and in pain to get my pillow. My baby enjoys it too. She falls asleep on it and hangs out on it after feedings. I am so happy that I got this pillow! SO WORTH IT! I wish I knew about this breast feeding pillow during my first pregnancy.

Saved Breastfeeding

This pillow saved my breastfeeding journey. Latching was so much easier for us with this pillow. No more slouching over or baby sliding off bed pillows. So easy to feed baby (even in the car) and give my arms a rest while doing it. Baby falls asleep right on the pillow. There are so many functional design elements that make this pillow useful and comfortable - I especially like the slight bump to raise baby’s head and the backrest. The strap is held to the pillow cover by Velcro which is good for washing and adjusting but is loud so I have to remember to not tinker with it when my baby is sleeping. Supportive for baby, not for mom.

I wanted to love this pillow, but unfortunately it’s not built for inclusive sizes. I am a larger woman and since it is only adjustable from one side, the back support and sits at my side. It is definitely supportive for baby, but I would not recommend if you are anything over probably a size 8 or a 10, it won’t fit you properly. Also, it feels quite cheap for the price, does not feel like a luxury high quality item.

too much of a hassle & rigid surface for baby

i was looking for an alternative to my U shaped pillow because i had to use extra pillows with it and when baby is crying bloody murder i want to spend as little time as possible getting ready. in that respect this wraparound nursing pillow is good - easy and quick to put on but even after using it for several sessions i just 1) did not like how bulky it was (takes up so much space) and 2) how baby fit on it (too rigid). definitely can't use it on a narrow nursing glider - it would be too high up. i used it while sitting on my living room couch but again it takes up so much real estate both when in use and when not. The clip and velcro are both loud. If baby spits up good luck washing it - the cover is Washable but not the pillow itself because it's foam-like.
