Not a huge fan of the milky heaviness of normal protein shakes so bought a few sample flavours of these to try. Made the mistake of mixing it in the blender rather than a shaker and ended up with a beaker full of froth that took about 30 minutes to settle! Next time I did it in a shaker bottle and it mixed very well and settled within a few minutes. The Bitter Lemon flavour was very reminiscent of old-fashioned bitter lemon mixer drink, but more synthetic and more bitter, like a hot lemon drink when you have a cold! - I didn't enjoy it at all I'm afraid. Raspberry Lemonade flavour is pleasant enough, though with a strongly synthetic aftertaste. Now about the water-powder ratio, I honestly don’t think that it’s a big deal, just guesstimate and try to get the golden ratio that works for you; on that note, I like to shake about one scoop with ~28-29 ounces of water in my water bottle, so that’s a pretty good starting point. Overall, it’s a great product, and given MyProtein’s regular sales events, it comes at a half decent price. For people like me who just can’t drink whey milkshakes, or hate the smell of that stuff, I think this is a great option! Goes Well With: Water, mostly.

The orange & mango was pretty good, tastes like orange & mango squash but with a bit of an artificial tinge that you sometimes get with these kinds of products. The apple was my favourite though, despite accidentally watering it down too much. It tastes like sour apple Xtreme Chewits! I imagine this flavour could be a bit too sweet for some but if you have a refined palette like mine (read: a massive sweet tooth) you'll probably love it. Mixability is pretty good though the foam never quite fully settles and it's a little powdery but not horribly so. Additionally, the powder sticks to your fingers no matter what, even when they are dry. I’ve found other brands far too sweet and was able to use the variety pack to rule in and out what flavours I liked. I did find most far too sweet and needed to dilute and dilute but I did find at least 2 flavours that I was happy to order in the larger tubs. What was frustrating was the repetitive nature with several sachets of the same flavour (often one I didn’t like such as Rainbow Candy) and no sachets of flavours that are available in the large tubs that I would have liked to try.
