I was looking forward to trying this protein since I love cinnamon and banana... Well, glad I just ordered a few samples. I am quite disappointed. Doesn't mix well, it's lumpy even using the shaker and cold liquids, tastes too artificial and it's not cinnamony at all. The macros are great and I'll have it anyway for cold shakes and smoothies, but won't be ordering again. Goes Well With: Less lumpy in cold drinks

Can’t help but feel that this product hinges entirely on the term “organic” which was, to be fair, what caught my own eye with it. However, that is literally all it’s got going for it, as well as it’s mixability I guess, because the taste is not pleasant. I’ve got the organic unflavoured and that is much much better because it just blends in with what you’re eating it with. But the banana one...nah. It’s like someone thought “oh we can’t find any organic sweetener so we just won’t put any it at all” and what you’re left with is a weird, bitter result that doesn’t actually taste anything like banana. If you want it to actually taste nice, take the hit on non-organic. If you want the organic stamp, I’d go with unflavoured. If you REALLY want organic and flavoured, go ... Goes Well With: It’s somewhat edible when mixed with chocolate alpro soy milk and used as an alternative to milk on bran flakes. But other than that rather specific set of circumstances, I’d leave well alone.

Got it as a free gift with my regular order of Impact Whey Isolate. Same flavour as my other stuff, so just emptied it into the tub with the rest (nice to have a free 0.25/day's whey!) Anyway, as I can't distinguish between this and my other protein order, this is my review for Impact Whey Isolate (Blueberry Cheesecake flavour): Always use MP's whey protein - excellent price, more protein per serving than their competitors, excellent quality and mix-ability (doesn't clump at all). In fact, can't fault it in any way! Just going through the flavours for now... 'Blueberry Cheesecake' surprised me a bit because it actually tastes like Blueberry Cheesecake (as opposed to almost indistinguishable from their blueberry flavour)! You can definitely taste a biscuit-y/hob-nob flavour that's meant to be like the base of the cheesecake, as well as the basic blueberry flavour. So, overall, not bad, just not my flavour as a bit sweet for me...

I've been using the unflavored Organic Whey for about a year now and it is my favorite, because it digests very well and you can customize the flavor easily. The reason I switched to Whey was because the isolate forms were giving me gas, tasted like sand, and the flavored versions of isolate tasted too much of chemicals. This (unflavored) organic whey has a mild, creamy, milky taste and reminds me a bit of condensed milk. No gas issues or tummy aches. If you are not crazy about the milky taste, it tastes fantastic when mixed with plain water and frozen berries, or with peanut butter/powder and bananas. I have also mixed it with water and high quality cocoa powder and/or cinnamon. Basically, if you are picky about the taste, this product is mild tasting enough that ... Basically, if you are picky about the taste, this product is mild tasting enough that you can customize it to your liking with lots of healthy alternatives. It's kind of fun to experiment with it. That said, I recommend mixing and consuming the mixture straight away for the best taste (i.e., for you to taste your customized flavor more than the milkiness). I keep one of those plastic shaker tumblers at work with pre-mixed powder ingredients, and then when I'm ready, I add water, shake and drink. This works best with powdered ingredients like cocoa or peanut butter powder, otherwise you need a blender for the fruit. Goes Well With: Water AND frozen berries, bananas, peanut butter, peanut powder, cocoa powder & cinnamon.
I've tried several different brands and types of whey proteins, and I just keep coming back to this one. I'm writing this review after I nearly spat out a mouthful of another brand whose name I won't divulge (rhymes with "Schmatural Shcmutrients") as it was so sweet! Sickly sweet, with all that sucralose, not to mention the added stabilizers and emulsifiers and colouring and all that junk you just don't need. After getting used to the simple, organic, clean taste of MyProtein Organic whey protein, I'm actually left with an icky taste in my mouth after having this other brand. The flavours with this are very simple and clean and not overly sweet - perfect for mixing with whatever extras you might like to add - cacao powder, or berries, bananas, whatevs. It would be great if they added more flavours to the range, for variety, but I'm more than happy to alternate between the plain, strawberry, and banana, just because I LOVE the fact that I'm not drinking a shake full of residual pesticides, xanthan gum, chemically derived sweeteners, etc. etc. The amount of protein per gram is about average - lower than average with the Strawberry flavour, but throw in some Chia seeds, peanut butter, etc. and you're righjt back up there. I would absolutely recommend. Goes Well With: Unsweetened Almond milk, chia seeds, almond butter, peanut butter.
Definitely give the samples a try - they could save you having to get through kilos of something you can't stand. Speaking from experience, having had to get my way through literally kilos (maybe 10?!) of flavoured proteins from MP that definiely aren't to my taste/are pretty grim after a while, do yourself a massive favour and try the samples out first. They may be gram for gram astronomically expensive in comparison but it's worth paying for to make sure that you won't end up either throwing away otherwise good but foul tasting protein, or having to chug your way through kilos of barely edible powder. Steer clear of banana, strawberry cream and vanilla flavours as these all taste incredibly artificial. Chocolate and chocolate derivative flavours can be a bit hit ... So far salted caramel is the best of the bunch, that said everybody's different so try the samples out first to find your favourites. Goes Well With: Milk, water, yoghurt, barley/rye/regular oats....the usual!!
I have tasted and smelled many whey protien supplements. I only decided to try my protien because my favourite manufacturer has discontinued the product that I used to buy for the past 10 years, they have lost a long loyal customer. I was only loyal because it was a quality whey isolate protien "The best in the market" then they decided to change all their products to vegan.... Anyways I am thankful that I decided to buy this sample because if I bought the 1kg I would have thrown my money in the bin. It smells very bad, it smelt like chemicals! It was kind off weird, I have never come across an isolate that smells like chemicals! I always buy the chocolate flavour, and I have tried many makes and to tell you the truth the majority are disgusting but this one is one ... I am not joking when I said it smelt like "Chemicals"!! I thought ok maybe I am wrong let me prepare my drink and taste it! It tasted exactly like I smelt it, it has nothing to do with chocolate! It's absolutely revolting. Now I am back to square one in my research after 10 years of using a product that I was happy with that gave me results smelt like a chocolate and tasted like one. So my advise to you don't waste your money with this brand. Goes Well With: None.
I have only had this a few days so can't comment on effectiveness yet! However it is the best tasting protein I've tried to date. I needed a low carb protein for post-gym breakfast as I'm on a very low carb diet (each to their own but it's the only one I have found works for me!). The chocolate flavour states "1.1g carbs per serving, 0g of which sugars", in case you needed that info. I didn't expect the taste to be so rich without being sickly sweet, so that was a pleasant surprise. This may be something to do with the diet, where my previous insatiable sweet tooth and love of food is replaced with nonchalance in the face of cream cakes and all things delicious. However, I also find this has zero bloat after consuming, unlike other proteins. I mix mine with water ... MoreI have only had this a few days so can't comment on effectiveness yet! However, I also find this has zero bloat after consuming, unlike other proteins. I mix mine with water but I imagine it would be delicious with hazelnut, cashew, or almond milk too, as well as normal milk. I also mix it with psyllium husk so for me the texture is slightly lumpy but far, far better than when I have mixed the same with other protein powders. I have this at 8am (I admit sometimes a double serving as that helps fit my daily macros better) and am not even thinking about food until gone 1pm. If you're looking for a tasty low carb protein I can highly recommend! Goes Well With: Water Milks of all kinds Post-gym euphoria As a snack As breakfast (or part of breakfast) Low carb diets Psyllium husk to help thicken it up
Describing the effects of whey protein is always tricky, as the effects are not immediate like, say,a pre workout. So i will give a personal opinion on the taste etc and i will explain the effects it had on my body and my training regime. The product is very well presented, with a clear and visible list of ingredients, a solid pouch, and an airtight lock. The smell is pleasant, the consistency is fine, and the mixability is excellent in cold water, with little to almost no shake needed. The taste is intense (assuming you respect the indicated dosages) and not too sweet. It will leave you feeling full and will not leave a bad smell in your shaker cup if you forget to rinse it. On a side note:i have mixed the unflavoured one with boiling milk 3 times, and every time it ... On a side note:i have mixed the unflavoured one with boiling milk 3 times, and every time it solidified and was impossible to mix the whey anymore. It was probably my mistake, regardless, remember that. As for the effects, i used whey concentrate from top brands for months to supplement my protein intake, but i had all sorts of disappointments, like feeling bloated to the whey tasting poorly and i felt like i drank cocoa milk as i saw no results...My muscles obviously didnt get enough protein, and my training regime saw no improvement, as i felt weak and my muscles didnt grow (my regime is 5x5 Stronglifts, a strength program). After looking for the top rated whey isolate, i came across Iso:Pro on Labdoor, ranking at nr1. And it deserves that spot...After a couple months, i can say that i feel well fed after a good shake, and my muscles are full and strong. I improved my lifts by a substantial margin, and i couldn't have done it with just food, as i don't have the material time to eat many meals. Iso:Pro has been a great aid and i don't intend going back to any other brand. Goes Well With: Warm milk and oats.
