So I posted a review of this light on youtube. NANLITE RGB ISSUES.Basically the light works pretty good if it's MAX brightness and MAX saturation. It also has cool FX features.But the cons are once you dim or desaturate the light down, the RGB blending get's wonky and inaccurate. Meaning the light will be set to hue 01 which is red, but when you dim the brightness to 01-20% the light will be full green..There's other issues as well. This is a great and very convenient light and I like it so much, I bought a second one. It's super bright, you can dial in a full range of colors from standard 'tungsten' to daylight and any party color you can think of, and I love that it has a built-in rechargeable battery so I don't need to keep separate batts charged. If it does run out, it can still operate off a power supply or battery bank.I don't personally have a need for various effects like police lights or fireplace but it comes with a bunch of those as well which is fun.Great value.

However, the light is quite focused and not as diffused, even with the included diffuser. The diffuser itself is okay but seems to be easily deformed - I worry about its longevity especially since it doesn't seem like a standard size (i.e. can't get alternatives). The diffuser also cannot easily be used when mounting the light on a standard tripod mount as the mounting plate gets in the way of the lip of the diffuser, either deforming it or compressing it, causing the diffuser to fall off. I've rectified this by getting a 15mm microrod with a 1/4 female thread on either side and a 1/4 to 1/4 male threaded screw adapter ... This is just super handy for many uses- macro work, augmenting other lighting, mounting to the camera for quick videos and even illuminating my slide copy attachment. It does what it should and the lack of an app is no big deal to me. I don't really need all the special effects, but somebody might like them and they don't interfere with anything. Battery life seems good. My only complaints would be the manual is missing some details on what the display is telling you about charging from various USB sources. It will take a high current charge, but most people don't know the type or capability of their USB ports.

Taking away a point because there is no app yet on Google Play though there does appear to be an APK on their website and there is no indicator to let you know the unit has fully charged. The dome diffuser works quite well and the magnet is very strong so you can hang this little guy on a door a fridge a shelf etc. Also a USB cable is supplied for charging but no outlet plug. All in all you will not be disappointed with this light as it is a respectable entry into the crowded pocket RGB market.
The good is that the settings are remembered over a power down. The bad is that sometimes it seems to forget. It has an internal battery which is good to prevent flicker and allow disconnected operation, but at 100% output the charger can't keep up and the battery goes flat after a time. I run them at 70% output to prevent that. The instructions are poor.
