The 3 mattes at the bottom row look more muted in person than in the picture, which is a plus for me. However, they are too similar - I wish one of the mattes was lighter. It may not seem like it, but the two mattes on the right appear very similar on my lid. Partly because they are not very pigmented. Compared with the Extreme Effects palette, the mattes here are less creamy and a bit dry.However, the satin/shimmers are outstanding. They are soft, pigmented, creamy and easily picked up with a brush or finger. The mattes are somewhat let down but I love the looks created using this palette. I love this palette. It’s beautiful. It’s a neutral palette but not boring or typical. The color story has a romantic quality that makes it so enjoyable to use. The formula is excellent. The shadows are smooth and thin and blend beautifully. They build in intensity. The mattes have the absolute subtlest of sheens that are super flattering on mature lids. One of my most favorite palettes and cannot recommended more highly.

This is a beautiful palette. Nars has one of the best eyeshadow formulas, hands down. The mattes and shimmers all work wonderfully on mature eyelids. They blend out seamlessly and the color can be built to your desired intensity. The mattes have the subtlest of sheen so they do not appear flat on the lid and the shimmers are smooth and sophisticated. There is absolutely no fall out. The color story is feminine and romantic. The packaging is gorgeous. I did purchase of the Nars website at half off and it was well worth the price. Highly recommend.
This palette looks beautiful. However the colours look more intense on the photos on here, and the colour story doesn’t really make sense. The mattes are purple toned then one red toned brown. It’s also hard to open!BUT I got this at a sale price, and am happy to have paid it for the shimmer shades alone as they are beautiful and pigmented.
I love this little palette, and I enjoy the backstory of the entire collection. I was on the fence on buying this palette for a long time, but it really is perfect for me. I’ve been moving into really simple looks—something easy. This is a great every day palette, and the colors are very pigmented, so you can do a darker sultry look too. It is a luxury palette, and you have to keep that in mind when buying a 6 pan for 50 dollars. Can you get the same colors elsewhere for less? Absolutely. But for me personally, I think this one is worth the price. I am selective with my eyeshadows, so buying a pricey one for amazing quality doesn’t bother me. NARS never fails on quality, packaging, and the thought behind every specialized collection.
I bought this on a little bit of an impulse and it’s full of brilliant earthy shades that can be really dressy or neutral too. The packaging is gorgeous quality and has a really luxe feel too. Sleek but I think all the shadows are full size. Apart from the great colours, I was impressed that the top corner two are really metallic and shiny. Bottom ones are matte. They’re less powdery than Nars shadows used to be but I wore them with an eye base to keep them on all day. Would make a great gift.
I love this color story. I'm drawn to these deep shades and the uniqueness of the collection. I think it's beautiful that it was an homage to his Mother, Claudette. I had no issues blending the matte shadows and three metallics were easy to work with. I had no fallout with the mattes and minimal with the shimmer shades.I achieved the look I originally had intended to create and was able to deepen this dramatic eye look with dense brushes.The pan sizes are on the larger side & I'm happy it's a six pan palette (preference).The packaging is spectacular! I love the sleek design with the beautiful red hearts. You can really see the love this collection was made with.
I own many high-end pallets (ND, ABH, HB, PMG) and this was my first Nars product. Packaging is very beautiful, compact, not heavy, colours are nice overall BUT they are extremely dry. I use UD primer for all my eyeshadows but with these it doesn't make much difference: shadows are a bit patchy and start to crease after two hours or so.. The reason is probably their dryness. I will try to use another base/colour base, maybe it'll help. But anyway, this pallet is the hardest I've ever worked with. I've bought it in June and haven't really used it since then :(
Sooo in love with the packaging yes always difficult to open but don’t mind that small inconvenience because the shadows are stunning. The browns are a richly pigmented and have a nice variety from a terracotta to a cool toned violate brown and a rich traditional earth tone brown.The shimmers don’t disappoint very vibrant and offer traditional colors to easily use. This palate added to anyone’s collocation is a must. I purchased this myself immediately before even seen reviews on it so glad I didn’t wait. This natural palette in timeless and beautiful inside and out. I hope Nars continues to vary there packaging and giving us more high shine simmers. Honestly elegant.
