Kelp has a long history of use as a food and as a source of assimilable iodine. It contains many nutrients absorbed from the sea.Nature’s Way Kelp contains 400 micrograms of iodine which is 267% of your daily intake. Iodine is vital for good thyroid function, which in turn is essential for health. Iodine deficiency during pregnancy and early infancy can result in cretinism (irreversible mental retardation and severe motor impairments). In adults low iodine intake (or very high intakes) can cause hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism can manifest as low energy levels, dry or scaly or yellowish skin, tingling and numbness in extremities, weight gain, forgetfulness, personality changes, depression, anaemia, and prolonged and heavy periods in women. Goiter, an enlarged thyroid gland visible between the Adam’s apple and the collar bone, is often present. Hypothyroidism can also cause carpal tunnel syndrome and Raynaud’s phenomenon. Hypothyroidism can lead to significant increases in cholesterol levels and homocysteine levels is implicated in about 10% of cases of high cholesterol levels. Correcting hypothyroidism can lead to a 30% drop in cholesterol and homocysteine levels.

I've been taking Nature's Way Kelp supplement for almost a decade and it works wonders in helping to keep my Thyroid to work optimally. Before my doctor recommended taking Nature's Way Kelp, I was taking a potassium iodide supplement which didn't work as effectively as the Kelp. I prefer taking Kelp because it gently stimulates my Thyroid to maintain optimum levels rather than forcing my Thyroid to maintain balance like a medication does. The Nature's Way Kelp is well priced, easy to swallow and is a very natural iodine supplement for the body. It is my iodine supplement of choice.

An excellent source of iodine! I took it with iodine deficiency in the body.1 capsule per day on the recommendation of a doctor. The quality and ingredients are excellent. The effect is good, an excellent supplement for the thyroid gland. I drank it for a month and my health improved noticeably. Drowsiness has gone away and general well-being has become better. A very useful drug.

This packaging is compact and no more than the product itself. Composition contains natural ingredients. Standard capsule size and they are easily accepted. I have problems with thyroid issues and I took 1 capsule per day as written on the package without a doctor's recommendation. These capsules have no taste, but have a smell that is specific to me and because of this, in the early days when I started taking them, I had problems swallowing them because of this smell.

I really like using these kelp capsules as a source of iodine to avoid deficiency. We use only sea salt or Himalayan salt that does not have any iodine, which is a vital nutrient. It's especially important for my health as I have hypothyroidism.I trust Nature's Way and use many of their products - great price, too.
I don’t like seaweed, I’m indifferent to other algae, I don’t eat fish often, and in general, I don’t eat balanced, therefore, it was important for me to find a drug that would provide me with iodine so that I could be calm for the endocrine system and I found it.When taking KELP Brown Algae, I noticed a general improvement in well-being, mood, a surge of vitality, strengthening the nervous system, and improving sleep.Excellent quality and ingredient. Standard size capsules, easy to take.

After incorporating Nature's Way Kelp Whole Thallus into my daily routine, I'm ready to share my thoughts on this supplement designed to provide a natural source of nutrients. Here's my review of Nature's Way Kelp:Pros:Rich in Nutrients: Kelp is a type of seaweed that's known for being a good source of various vitamins and minerals, particularly iodine, which is important for thyroid health. Nature's Way Kelp aims to offer these nutritional benefits in a convenient capsule form.Whole Thallus: The supplement uses the whole thallus (main body) of the kelp plant, which can contain a wider range of nutrients compared to extracts that focus on specific compounds.Vegan Capsules: The fact that these capsules are vegan-friendly can be a big plus for those who are ... Consultation with a healthcare professional is advisable.Variable Iodine Content: Natural products like kelp can have varying levels of iodine, and this supplement might not always provide consistent dosing. This can be a concern for those who require precise iodine intake.Taste and Smell: Some users might find the taste or smell of kelp to be strong and off-putting, even when encapsulated. This can be a drawback for those sensitive to these factors. In conclusion, Nature's Way Kelp Whole Thallus offers a natural source of nutrients, particularly iodine, in a convenient capsule form. While it can be a valuable addition to a balanced diet, especially for those looking to boost their iodine intake, it's important to consider iodine sensitivity and individual preferences regarding taste and smell. Consulting with a healthcare professional before adding kelp supplements to your regimen is recommended.Note: Personal reactions to supplements can vary. It's advisable to consult a healthcare professional before introducing new supplements, especially if you have existing health conditions or concerns.
This used to be my kelp of choice for a long number of years starting around 2011. It was highly recommended and a quality product. However, I pay attention to labels, and so I noticed over time that the product was gradually cheapened, cheapened, and is still being cheapened! It is not good now, and yet costs more than ever. One might think this doesn't sound like a big difference in the amount of iodine per capsule with the changes, but it really adds up to less and less iodine over time. When I started using this product, each capsule contained 660mg of kelp, with a guaranteed amount of 400mcg iodine per capsule. Then in 2014 I noticed that they contained 600mg kelp, with a guaranteed amount of 360mcg iodine. I called them about this, and they said due to kelp ... Then in 2014 I noticed that they contained 600mg kelp, with a guaranteed amount of 360mcg iodine. I called them about this, and they said due to kelp being a natural product and depending on where they obtained it, it could vary in iodine; okay. However, 2015 showed a label stating the same 600mg kelp per capsule, but now it contained only 300mcg iodine. I stopped taking it and started trying other brands when they degraded further down to 270mcg iodine (I don't remember exactly when that last degradation occurred, but it was either 2019 or before that). To top it off, somewhere along the way, their labels stopped promoting that it was "guaranteed" to contain the amount of iodine the label said!In addition, I happened to notice that the label originally said Nature's Way was located in Springville, Utah, but when the product deterioration first started, the label said they were in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I would not be surprised to learn that Nature's Way was bought out and then deteriorated.I starting using Iodoral in 2019 and then alternated with kelp of other brands, but now I've learned that they were also bought out at some point, and now you can't easily find it. So currently I have switched to Lugol's Solution that I buy from here on Vitacost, which gives the same ingredients as Iodoral.
