Details Jojoba oil is obtained from the seed of the Simmondsia chinensis plant, a shrub native to North American desert climes – southern Arizona, southern California, and northwestern Mexico. The jojoba seed is comprised of approximately 50% oil, by weight, and has abundant healing properties. Nature’s Shield jojoba oil is certified organic and sustainable and is cold-press extracted for preservation of its natural qualities. Jojoba is unique amongst oils in that it is not in fact an oil, but a liquid wax. This makes it uniquely compatible with the skin’s own sebum production and even more useful as the skin ages and sebum production naturally decreases. Jojoba has antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties, thus can be useful in any bacteria or fungi- related skin issues. High in antioxidants, vitamins A, D and E, it is protective against oxidative stresses such as sun exposure, poor air quality and ageing processes.
