I had this one my 7612xsv's and it worked ok. I switched to 8616xsv's and relief shading stopped working. After a month of back and forth, we figured out that since I had a 8616 with navionics and one with g3 charts networked together. If I removed networking from either, relief shading would work. Ultimate solution was to subscribe to navionics charts on my G3 8616 just to get relief shading ( that previously worked fine) to work again. Seems like a sketchy thing to do.Overall, the resolution isn't as good as some, but better than others. It earns a solid "meh"

Great chip for accurate maps of my area. Shouldnt have to pay $150-$300 bucks for a decent map though. The mapping that comes with the Lowrance HDS9 is atrocious, so plan on getting the Navionics chip.

It does as much as the head unit can, I am sure the updated version is better but my unit is not that new. That being said it makes it so much easier to run on the lake I live on as it is a very shallow lake with a lot of hazards.

The Navionics Platinum+ is not compatible with any Garmin plart chotters or fish finders. I got it for my Garmin 93sv and spent several hours trying to install it. I found out that it is not compatible only after I called customer support.
I'm new to fishing large reservoirs and the platinum card provides an outstanding nautical and sonar map. It made figuring out the lake much less of a chore than would have otherwise been the case.
It works, but Lake Master is superior in every way. From contours to shading, there is honestly no comparison. As far as the map card is concerned, it paired to the Lowrance App as it should. Download of the mapping and any overlay options took about 20 minutes. You must use a computer for the mapping download. It is not a card you can pop in your unit straight out of the packaging.
The pre-purchase information indicated that the lake I would be fishing in Canada would be covered by the area I purchased. It was not. The northeast corner of the lake (where the outpost cabin was located was not included in the mapped area. Furthermore, the topographic mapping of the lake was not completed and there were areas where the islands, rock-bars, and outcropping boulders were not shown on the map. I was very discouraged and ended up just using the map provided by Lowrance, which, by the way, was even worse but at least covered the whole lake. I'm not the kind of person who buys a product just to use this one time and then return it but in this case, I'm certainly considering it.
I bought this card for the relief shading navionics offers on my $25 navionics app. After you download the downloader application, you select the area and download the relief shading by selecting the box for relief shading. i've done everything correctly and have the correct card for simrad. watched all the youtube videos and this card will not display the content i paid for. and simrad support is so behind i made it over an hour on hold before the line hung up, twice.
