I suffer from severe allergies and this was the first time I’ve used this. My doctor never recommended this I just happen to stumble across it while buying otc medication. It helped clear up my congestion within two days! Usually I would be stuffy for two weeks!

The pot alone is cheaply made and leaks. But what really upset me is that I can barely smell/taste after using this..I first used this after being sick and after my nose cleared up, I still couldn’t really taste it smell. I just figured to give it time. Two weeks later of being all normal and healthy again, I can barely taste and smell. I waited a couple more weeks and I can taste and smell now, but not fully like before. I just shrugged it off.I used this one last time when I got allergies a week later, and right after, my taste and smell is very minimal again. Not sure why. Maybe it’s the mix. I bought this at the recommendation of a friend in Georgia who is also an allergy sufferer. I moved a couple years ago and I'm allergic to something (or probably several somethings) that bloom/grow in spring and summer here in Indiana. If I take decongestants I end up with sinus infections, and I've used many different herbal and homeopathic products. Several have brought some relief from the itchy, watery eyes and sneezing, but I still had a blocked nose most of the time this spring and summer. After several months of suffering I finally decided to try the Neti Pot. I'm so glad I did! My friend was right, it's a life saver. After my first use I saw improvement that lasted more than a day. The neti pot has been the best thing to happen for my allergies, ever. No meds to course through my body, and this simple method keeps my sinuses clear and headaches at bay. This pot solution combo is a good value. Note: please, please do NOT use water straight from the tap; boil the tap water or use distilled. Otherwise, it is unnecessarily painful and risks infection.
I've been using a metal neti pot for years, but it rusted out. The NeilMed neti pot is light and the spout fits comfortably in the nose. The Sinus Rinse, which contains salt and bicarbonate of soda, is very effective. I use this neti pot every day.
Felt a bit overwhelmed when I started looking at the instruction booklet but once I found the directions for use it was easy to understand. I had been suffering headaches from severe congestion and this helped clear out the mucus built up and provided immediate relief. Highly recommend. At first it is a weird feeling like you went under water without holding your nose but the initial discomfort is worth the relief.

I bought this today, so upon my first use, I boiled water, cooled it and gave the pot a try. When cleaning, there were no issues with leaking; however, once I went to use it with the salt solution, that’s when the leaking started. The one nice thing about this is all the salt solution packets! I felt more relief and less drainage immediately afterwards, but the pressure is still there. I’ll give it a few more tries and hope it works since prescribed medication isn’t! Overall, I would recommend this for immediate drainage relief, but buy a better pot if you plan to use long term!
Great product as it really does flush everything out, but I had a problem and im not sure if this has occured to anyone else or if my allergies are just THAT bad.. so I used the neti pot in the shower and later that night got into bed to sleep. Woke up in the middle of the night to lots of fluid in my throat and I couldnt breathe and i mean actually could barely get a breath in. I felt like I was drowning. I cried and I cant use this anymore. Im scared of it honestly. I dont want to ever feel fluid in my throat or feel like drowning ever again! Thats why im rating it low. Luckily I coughed almost threw up the fluid and then was eventualy able to go to bed. Woke up the next day heavily feeling like fluid in my throat. It was scariest time of my life

I'm not a patient person, but you need to be slow and patient with this process and it will work. there is somewhat of a learning curve with this product. It does have kind of a weird feeling, again this is the beneficial part. I do think I will continue to use it. There's sure no harm in giving it a try if you have sinus or allergy issues, be patient with yourself and the device, it does work, glad I bought one.
I bought this neti pot to get relief from nasal congestion, but unfortunately I'm not fully satisfied with the purchase because no matter how tightly I screw on the lid, the saline water drips out the top when using it. Not sure if I received a faulty product, but I can't recommend this neti pot as a result. I'd suggest looking at other options.
