The loops along either side of the bag work well for tie downs to go through. Love the purge valve, although it would be even better on the bottom so I could roll it up even farther. My water bottle secures in the side, outside pocket(s) are convenient for odds and ends you don't want to unroll and unpack the bag for like sunscreen and sunglasses. I got the 20L to pair with my Giant Loop Coyote bag for week long camping/colder weather trips. I was worried it wouldn't be quite big enough, but it is surprisingly spacious. Simply put, its well build bag. Waterproof, durable, comfortable as a backpack and lots of mounting points as a tail bag. One surprising feature are the bottle holders. The picture it looks like just a simple cord, but its actually a full buckle strap that secures the mouth of the bottle. One of my favorite features is that I don't have to remove the straps securing the bag to access a drink, and with the straps on it feels very secure. I didn't use the provided securement straps because I already use ROK straps, they appear fully capable though. I really liked almost everything about this bag. It seemed rugged, had a cool, utility look to it without standing out too much in a school environment, has lots of great features and storage options, and doubles as a backpack. To me it was like a cheaper Kriega US20 with backpack straps. Though I agree with many that the laptop sleeve is pretty abysmal. However, my biggest complaint is with the shoulder straps. For the 20L version (I have not seen or worn the 40L), the straps connect at the bottom of the pack about 6" away from each other, and on top of plastic buckles on each side. The straps connect by way of plastic carabiner-style clips, which dug into my back when worn as a backpack (made worse by the plastic buckles behind the plastic carabiner-clips). I personally couldn't stand wearing it as a backpack for more than a few minutes, especially if I was walking. It also does not seem to be well-suited to be worn as a backpack while riding, though that may be due to the tailbag functionality. I have returned the bag due to the issue with the straps, and will be exploring other options.TLDR; Great bag for the money. The shoulder straps' bottom connections dug into my lower back causing great discomfort. If this doesn't bother you/is not an issue for you, the Nelson Hurricane is a great option for a waterproof tailbag/backpack combo.

I have bought the 40L version and over all the bag fits a lot of stuff. Sleeping bag, tent, tent tarp, air bed roll, helinox camp chair & a camp pillow all fit easily. The webbing loops are very handy and the air valve is nice to compress everything down. Just a couple of things that if Rigg could change would make this bag perfect:1. Tie down straps are a little too short, maximum length is 42.5"(108cm) and when you load the bag up it is just a little too short to close and cinch down. Another 6" of strap and they will be perfect.2. The side bottle pockets have a bungee cord with a locker however there is nothing at the end to keep the locker from sliding completely off. This is pretty annoying having that locker slide completely off and fall to the ground/brush/mud etc then try to put back on. The bungee as is it too short to knot or I would of knotted it, suggest Rigg to knot is with longer bungee or put a stopper loop on the bungee to keep it from sliding off.3. Some better system to stow the backpack straps. Not a huge deal but would be nice, or provide some clear instruction of how to stow them away.Overall I really like the bag. No water got in during a 3 day ride/camp trip that rained everyday all day. I do recommend.
I got this bag for commuting to and from work mainly, but also to use on longer bike trips.I really love the air purge valve, it makes closing the bag and getting the air out super easy and wish it was included on all waterproof roll top bags. The construction is very sturdy with solid materials. My only dislike is the comfort of the bag. It seems slouchy on the back no matter how high I pull the straps. The bottom of the straps are mini carabiner style hooks that clip onto a small D ring on the bottom. This is kind of poor design in my opinion because all of this plastic on the lower part of the strap dig into my sides when I'm wearing the pack. It's really uncomfortable if I'm just wearing a t-shirt. (Haven't tried it with my jacket/bike yet because the bike is in the shop since I received the bag). The laptop carrying sleeve is a bit small width wise. My 15" Dell work laptop would not fit in it at all, so I just have to throw it in the pack loosely, which is fine, just a little disappointing.Overall, I think it will make a great pack for carrying lighter things while doing some adventuring biking.
I have several backpacks and I rate this against any of them, having taken it on two overnighters so far.Firstly, it’s very well constructed with PVC tarpaulin material and electronically welded seams. With a triple fold at the top, it stays waterproof, and your gear stays dry. The purge valve makes it easy to compress. I love the simplicity of this pack. You put your water and/or stove gas on the outside and your dry kit inside. It seems like a roomy 20 litres due to the shape. If you are ok with the minimalist camping concept, you can carry enough for an overnight camp in this pack alone, imho. Here’s what I was able to fit inside it: bivvy bag; poncho liner; short thermarest; steel cup; mini stove and gas; mini hygiene kit; change of socks, jocks and tee; 24 ... MoreI have several backpacks and I rate this against any of them, having taken it on two overnighters so far.Firstly, it’s very well constructed with PVC tarpaulin material and electronically welded seams. Here’s what I was able to fit inside it: bivvy bag; poncho liner; short thermarest; steel cup; mini stove and gas; mini hygiene kit; change of socks, jocks and tee; 24 hours food – good to go.Considering that this pack is designed at least in large part as a tail pack, the backpack carrying system is quite good. It has decent padding on the back with airflow channels through the middle, plus a removable waist strap. I’ve carried it on a couple of decent walks of a few kilometres at a time in 25C+ weather and overheating my back has not been as much of a problem as it has with some other packs. To get a better carrying system you’d be paying more than 200AUD for a Deuter or Osprey pack that wouldn’t sit as snugly on the back of a bike. On that note, this pack includes a good set of straps and even fits on my GSX 125.The only point I would raise (not a gripe, more of a tip) is that the reversible MOLLE/map pouch should only be flipped on horizontal axis, not the vertical. The top clips on the reversible panel seem to only fit in the top slots, not the bottom ones, which is odd as they appear to be the same size. I made this mistake on my first use and had to use pliers to get top clips out of bottom slots. The pack includes rock solid attachment points on the outside and the bungee on top of the hydration pocket is super handy for putting your gloves in when making a stop. Finally, one of the things I really loved about this pack is that I ordered it on a Wednesday and it arrived on Friday! This is why Bikebiz are my go-to.
So happy with my purchase. The negative:It was a bit big for this style bike, but it worked. If it had a tail platform or top bag plate like on My KLR or other adventure bikes it's would be just right! One of the webbed straps for the rolled down clips was frayed in the end right out of the box (just melted the end a bit to fix it)Positive:Loved the water proof nature and so many tie down options. The four hook straps that come with it are great.Suggestion: Do not put damp clothing inside it. you will get condensation inside if you have any moisture at all in your clothes.( I had a swim suit that hadn't dried completely) but that would happen with any sealed bag.

Maybe I should have gone with the 20 liter version, but my value logic disagreed since it was only about $25 more. ??I had no idea since this is only my first “motorcycle” backpack and I wanted it to be waterproof now that I am back to riding to work everyday in this beautiful but wet Florida weather. So far I haven’t had to test the waterproof features yet since it has only sprinkled a bit during my ride so far, but I will try to update this review when the inevitable rain happens. I use it to carry all my rain gear and lunches to work along with a few odds and ends and have a huge amount of space left. In fact I picked up 120 hotdogs for a cook out on the way home and could have fit many more without even stuffing it.The construction is simple with one big area inside with a pocket for an iPad or similar tablet or laptop with no straps along with a pretty big pocket with really strong Velcro and a Molle panel with a small zippered pocket that looks to be waterproof. I wrap the extra strap lengths up and secure them with the elastic bands to keep them from flapping around. The bag compresses down easily with the waterproof purge valve into a manageable size for my normal commute every day and I know that I could fit many vinyl records if I end up at the record store and get a little crazy. This is what killed my last backpack’s zipper. ?? So far I really like it and will update this if anything changes.sider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.
I am disappointed with the positioning of the catch positioning for the three buckles for the roll close top. They are so short as to limit the synching tight of the closure. Center back is far too short and both sides are buried into bottle pockets. Lame. Aside from this I?m sure it will function to keep my things dry. A rethinking of design will be needed. Does anyone pay attention in engineering school or actually field test anything anymore before subjecting us to their amateurish attempts to make a product we rely on to work well out of the box?
I wanted a bag that I could use daily for commuting that had room to toss in some groceries or carry some essentials on longer rides with my wife. This bag delivers on both fronts easily. There is no denying that it is MASSIVE (some folks don't quite understand how big 40L is apparently), however with the one-way valve you can squeeze this bag down to roughly the same size as most 20-30L backpacks, depending on the contents of course. I commute 75 miles a day roundtrip and do no feel any fatigue or discomfort from the pack and mounting to the rear rack as luggage is quick and simple. The construction is super bomber and I do not worry about this bag lasting for quite some time. If you are looking for a burly all-conditions bag that can carry almost anything you own, that works both as a backpack and strap-on luggage, and can be compressed down to a much smaller package when carrying less, this is for you! Only knock, as others have stated, there are no real internal storage dividers besides the laptop sleeve but this also means less seams and perforations in the material overall. I luckily have stuff sacks falling out of my ears and was able to divide up the gear I carry into convenient order.
