I find the tent very good once it is pitched. But, it is difficult to get the tension correct on the corners that don’t get support from the poles. They always seem to sag in towards the middle. Another big gripe is that the ends of the poles stay in the black plastic inserts when you try to remove them. The poles separate more easily than they come out of the black plastic holders. This really makes taking the tent down difficult. I really like the tent once it’s pitched, no complaints. Materials are great, ventilation is good, very roomy. But set up and take down could see some improvements.

We have been getting into overnight backpacking with our family of 3. Really liking the Mayfly 3P for it’s relatively light weight, more durable floor material and it fit our budget. Also liking the Osmo fabric for the added weather protection and environmental footprint. This has been a great tent for us and a great value.

This tent offers quite a lot for what you pay. Full of convenience features, nice and roomy and still super light and packable this tent is a perfect addition to your backpacking kit. I really also like that fly is made from OSMO fabrics which are more waterproof and durable than regular silnylon. I noticed a lot less stretch in the tent fly after a rainstorm and felt like the fly didn't soak up nearly as much water either which made packing up in the morning easy. Overall super pleased and can see this tent coming on many more adventures in the future.
Took this backpacking for the first time last weekend and it held up well in the light rain and high winds. I took longer stakes because of a wind advisory and those MSR groundhog stakes did great, but the included Nemo stakes (while nice compared to others) got pulled out of the ground by the wind. Granted, I'm no expert, so it could have been my user error, you know? No leaks and no condensation. And while I was concerned about wind blowing rain under the scalloped rain fly, the tent held well. I love how light the tent is but it still feels solid enough that I don't treat it like it's fragile. The two doors and vestibules are pretty great and the height was comfortable where I could sit up and change and hang out inside while allowing the rain to pass. Two people ... Two people would be tight in this tent. I got it mainly for one person, but fitting two in a pinch for Scouting activities. Set up is easy because the hooks are color coded to match the poles, and one side is for the head and the other end is for the foot, though in the wind it's a big challenging to get that rainfly on. I like the locking system they use to connect the rainfly to the tent. Seems thoughtful and high quality. While it would have been great for it to be freestanding, I wanted something lightweight and am glad to give up some of that structure to save the ounces. Overall, as a newbie backpacker, I really like this tent!
I bought this tent five months ago and have used it almost every week since purchasing it. I work in a conservation corp for the majority of the year and spend most the month backpacking. This tent is incredibly easy to set up, put down, and is very light for a 3p. My only complaint is the rainfly. On the front and backside of the tent the rain fly curves up in the middle and doesn’t fully cover the inside mesh, especially when it is windy or storming outside. Definitely brings in a bit of a breeze. Besides that, it’s an excellent tent and has served me so well in the field.
Nemo calls this a three person tent, but it comfortably fits my BF, my dog and myself. Not sure if that mystery third person sleeps in the vestibule!?! Easy setup if you know tents. I popped it up without instructions and then tried to figure out what a little doohickey gadget was for, but the minimal instructions were worthless. Other than that, I like the little gear pockets and the fabric. Great for stargazing without the rainfly in the desert.
What a durable, affordable and overall AWESOME tent! Nemo is a leader in the backcountry camping industry, their product is so innovative and user friendly, plus they have such an amazing sustainability story - I'd highly recommend any of their products! The OSMO material is THE BEST.
I have only had a chance to take this out once (in the summer) so I cannot comment on the warmth, but this is a very comfortable pad! I literally got the best night sleep I have ever had camping. I had to grit my teeth to pay this much for a pad, but glad I did!
The fabric is crazy durable yet weighs nothing. It’s a good size for 2 people backpacking and will keep you dry. Stuff bag can double as a bag to hang from a tree. Tent poles and ground stakes feel durable.
